  1. What speed is the car doing at 2000 & 3000 rpm in 5th gear? The TSI engines are better on fuel economy than the MPI. They have much higher torque and at lower revs than the MPI ones. Thanks. AG Falco
  2. Yes, quite normal. Get the beam direction checked after a new unit is fitted. Fabia III's can have different lens types. Do you have the Projector or the Reflector type unit? Thanks. AG Falco
  3. Have you managed to reset both the Service and Inspection warning messages? Thanks. AG Falco

You will need to zoom in a bit. 🙂 https://www.google.com/maps/place/Port+of+Emden/@53.3451354,7.1681393,3041m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x47b6374fcb0136a7:0x529aa28e057a42c9!8m2!3d53.3355556!4d7.1836111!16s%2Fg%2F1229cmsd?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDkyNC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D Thanks. 7. QI6 is Variable servicing. They all come out of the factory with that set. It can be changed to QI4 Fixed servicing easily. It sounds like yours has already been changed. Thanks. AG Falco
  8. You need to wash off all the dirt/mud from around the fuel filler pipe, but on the inside of the arch. It rusts from the inside first. Mine was 3 1/2 years old when I bought it. There was just the first signs of of rust on the inside. I have checked since and I have prevented it getting any worst by painting the area. Thanks. AG Falco
  9. Early winter check just done. Rotated tyres. Stripped, cleaned and re greased brakes. Front pads just over half worn. Rear drums good. Charged batteries. Greased door hinges, door locks, boot lock, boot hinges and bonnet hinge and latch. Refitted radiator partial cover. Checked levels, all good. Car still all good. Thanks. AG Falco
  10. See this post:- Thanks. AG Falco
  11. Yes, but it shortens the life of the battery. In the UK a shop that fits batteries would be able to code the new battery for you. Thanks. AG Falco
  12. The battery control module records the power going in to and out of the battery. It remembers this and will then charge the battery accordingly. If the car is not programmed when a new battery is fitted it will charge the new battery thinking it is the old battery. If the old battery was at half the capacity of the new one it will charge the new battery to this ( half ) capacity. Does the voltage change from when the engine is running compared to when the engine is NOT running. My Fabia battery is 9 Years old and the car has done 90K miles. Had the car from new. Are you anywhere near N Dorset? Thanks. AG Falco
  13. Best practice IS to update the car. Thanks. AG Falco.
  14. Have you programmed the car to tell it that a new battery has been installed? Thanks. AG Falco
  15. Not fitted to the facelift 2018 one I have. But I did fit them after I bought it. Thanks. AG Falco

  18. How much to hire a van? Thanks. AG Falco
  19. AC works all the time, but if it is in the off position it is only working at about 6%. Yes you can sometimes notice this. Thanks. AG Falco
  20. Check at 165,000 miles and then every 20,000 miles. VW removed the advise to replace the timing belt a few years ago. Spark Plugs? I have a 2016 1.2 TSI at 90000 miles and car is still good. Thanks. AG Falco
  21. There is another way: Open the car. Open the boot. Get in the car and shut all the doors but not the boot. Push the car door lock button on the dash. Get out of the car via the boot. Close the boot. This locks the car, but wont turn the alarm on. Thanks. AG Falco
