Ouch, so what did it fail on to make it uneconomical to repair?🙁
  2. Re the owners manual printed edition, Mini being BMW in a different suit does it not follow that like BMW, if on delivery of your car you wish a printed owners manual, then on request it will be ordered and in my case sent to my home address ... that was explained by the salesman before handover when I asked ... hopefully Mini will be the same!. Hope it helps, enjoy your new car!🏎️
  3. Hi, sorry I missed this, I removed the panel at the rear hatch then used the rubber bellows to route the cable .... feeding the cable through the bellows between the body and the hatch was a PIA, but unclip the bellows and work slowly and carefully and it was all good, I used a short cable fish to pull it through then coiled the excess cable in the rear hatch before replacing the trim (figure of 8 to avoid electrical issues.) Hope that helps 🙂
  4. Should have said fitting, remove/loosen the door seals and pop the window frame cover with a plastic pry, feed the cables (careful not to impede the airbag route) connect to the fusebox, test and then refit the covers and door seal, really simple. 🙂
  5. Just use the rear wiper fuse with a piggyback carrier as supplied with the Nextbase hardwire kit, has worked fine in our 2016 since we installed it on delivery. Simple install 🙂
  6. We had that on our Yeti (2016.) Dealer didnt believe us until we took them for a drive to the north of Glasgow, then set a route back to the dealership, it neither took us back (about 2 miles away,) but also said we had been driving up the Clyde for at least the final 1/2 mile (I know it rains a lot on the west coast of Scotland, but its not that bad.) Dealer either replaced a module or the whole unit (never touched the antenna) cant remember which but it has been ok for the last 4 years. 🤞

Agree UK insurance costs are a joke at times .... our Yeti is £277 pa 2 drivers (both retired,) fully comp, full no claims (20+ years) and no convictions, The German Stuka is £356 for the same but some companies quoted £4125 for the same car, obviously didn't want the business .... don't understand personally ... feels a bit of a con and taking you for all you can get 🤪 the way of the world nowadays.
  8. Battery manufacture date will be on the battery, if its a VAG battery its on the top month/year ... other makes may vary on location but it will be there somewhere on the battery. 🙂
  9. 2016 L&K 2.0ltr diesel, we have never had an issue.
  10. Your friend is almost right, just not for cleaning out the DPF ... its also known as an "Italian tune-up" and can certainly blow the cobwebs away if your car is a bit sluggish or spends its life in town doing 30 mph most of its life, my opinion is its a worthwhile/fun exercise, does it work? .... a worthy several pint discussion, but its just not for clearing out the DPF, which as you have found is better with a 60 mph, 30 minute road trip to kick off the regen.🙃

It works well with the VAG 10Ltr and Redex 10Ltr containers, that's what I use, even on the X3 as well. Hope it helps 🙂

I have used these guys before for my Fiat Spider, I used the premium cover and it stood the test of time well and was an excellent fit, worth a look. https://www.carcoversfactory.co.uk/suv-covers/2016/skoda/yeti/all-body-types 🙂
  13. 🤣 and that applies to absolutely anything not just car components ... is there some specific soothsayer course that I should go on 🙃
  14. I understand the fears, re the pano roof, but they dont all leak ... ours is seven and a half years young, and we have never had any problems with the roof and its kept outside in all weathers, best to take a careful look ... plenty of threads detailing the tell tale signs and obviously they are the ones to avoid, IMO they are stunning cars and the L&K spec is spot-on for us. Just an opinion from a fault free owner 🙂
  15. Its all a very personal thing, dampers, tyres, brake pad compounds ,,, thats what makes us human rather than a computer simulation a'la Matrix! 🙂 Glad your satisfied with your result.
  16. Must admit I was never a fan of the GY EG tyres, maybe scottish roads as they seemed ok on the autobahn/autostrada surfaces,) but they were so, so noisey (road noise) they got binned early. 😟
  17. Wouldn't bet on that one, they should but the abilities of some dealerships leave a lot to be desired. Apathy/disinterest from the service department on older cars is one of them, thank goodness they are not all the same. Good luck😋
  18. To be honest it would be better if you started your own thread rather than hi-jack this very, very long one. The answer will also be easier for people to find rather than trawling through this one. 🙂
  19. Its all very personal and subjective, but IMO, they are always too hard in the front and too soft in the rear and they don't, last ... less than 20k'ish miles before they go soggy and walloway (is that a word?) My personal choice if you can get them are Koni, or Bilstein, but I have had very acceptable performance and longevity from both Sachs and Boge, but that's maybe just me. I've used all the mentioned brands (including the long gone Woodhead and SPAX) on most of my cars over the last 45'ish years of passionate tinkering on anything I have owned, so its just my opinion. 🙂
  20. Seemingly Sachs and Boge are now part of the ZF group, but here is the dampers link https://aftermarket.zf.com/en/aftermarket-portal/services-and-support/catalog/#/search?languageID=4&brandID=14,32&countryID=GB&vehicleTypeIDs=p&manufacturerID=106&modelID=8486&vehicleIDs=115192&searchField=vehicle&assemblyGroupIDs=1626,854,1180 I have never had an issue with Sachs or Boge replacements on previous VW's, but I have never been a fan of Monroe, not saying its bad kit, just not my flavour. Hope it helps,
  21. Sure its Sachs, that make the bulk of VAG dampers.
  22. Observing with great interest here, but one question re the MIB2STD, lots of talk on using 2 SD cards ... I thought the SD cards required to be Skoda original cards with the security permission (maybe wrong term used) folder/format sector. If so re the 2 card solution, does it require an additional horrendously expensive Skoda SD card or is there a work around or am I mistaken in my interpretation so far? Excellent work so far from all 🙂
  23. Aw, speak nicely to it and maybe it will become a happy SD card 😋
  24. Personally I usually use Westfalia, but Brink/Thule are the same kit and is fairly good kit ... just not cheap. Dont forget to get your Yeti "programmed" so it knows it has a towbar so all the electrics and stability control works correctly.
