  1. Hello, welcome to the forum. Far cheaper and simpler to just keep the keys in a shielding pouch when they're not in use, I'd guess that the steering lock would be the major problem.
  2. Good thing you don't have a pair of Danes!
  3. Check that you hadn't accidently switched on the parking lights - which are activated by moving the indicator stalk up or down when the ignition is switched off.
  4. Unlikely for the spilt fuel to have damaged the AC compressor or shear plate - the aux. belt, possibly - but that would also cause issues with the alternator. When my fuel rail bolts failed, all the fuel was running down the front of the engine, not the offside.
  5. I'd be very surprised if this left-hand steering bias was a Continental 'trait' - on a flat, LHD road this could put the driver into a head-on collision situation.
  6. Request clear confirmation that suspension transit blocks have been removed during PDI.
  7. No, there are plenty of online suppliers of correct card, you will need 32gb for full European maps.
  8. Hello Jon, welcome to the forum. Your Amundsen MIB2 unit requires a genuine VAG SD card for GPS maps - it will not work with a standard SD card.
  9. Musk should have got Acme in.
  10. If the key fob loses sync, it becomes inoperative until it is resynced. I always rotate the spare fobs on both our vehicles, so have never had to do it - but I think I have seen references to some procedure using the emergency lock cylinder to unlock, then starting the vehicle within a short time period.
  11. AFAIK, habitually using only one key fob can lead to issues where the unused fob gets 'out of sync' with the immobiliser rolling code.
  12. Hello, welcome to he forum. Does the temperature gauge indicate any overheating at all? Check the EV cap, it is possible that it is not holding pressure when the coolant is hot - resulting in lower coolant boiling point and loss through overflow. Replacement is not expensive if there's any reason to suspect it.
  13. I tried to remove my A-pillar trim once in an experiment to see if I could run my dashcam lead behind it - ended up chickening out as I just couldn't shift the trim at all!

Hello, welcome to the frum. try scrolling down to that spot/line in the menu and click the enter button - speed adjust function probably toggles between 'active' and 'off/inactive'
  15. What are the advantages of Ghost immobiliser over standard OEM system? The supplier would probably be the best source for answer to your question - but I can't see that it would affect SS, as the vehicle is only on stand-by when SS activates, not fully shut down.
  16. 6K sounds quite a lot for two years younger - is the newer vehicle a similar spec?
  17. Antenna test would almost certainly require a specialist signal strength meter, but there is normally a user display available on the screen that displays the number of satellites currently in view - on the Amundsen MIB2, this is viewable when operated in 'split-screen mode' You will need to consult the manual for your specific infotainment system. Anything fewer than 3 or 4 satellites in range while vehicle has a clear view of the sky will give unreliable fixes.
  18. Get the GPS antenna tested, it is not uncommon for water to damage PCB in antenna base.
  19. Hello, welcome to the forum. ^^^ the above, plus Is the infotainment system original - or aftermarket?
  20. The independent garage needs to have licensed access to VAG systems to enable the electronic maintenance log records to be kept up to date.
  21. Plus it also disables the door deadlocks in the event that passengers remain in the vehicle while it is locked.
  22. Hello, welcome to the forum. The aftermarket radio could well be a suspect, has the parasitic drain reduced since that was disconnected? Has the battery been thoroughly tested?
  23. Is there a subframe bolt missing in images 1, 3 & 4?
  24. If your Jerry Can is the usual type, there is a flexible filler spout available that clamps onto the can - great if you intend to use the can again in future. I'd suggest using a filter gauze too.
