Hello, welcome to the frum. try scrolling down to that spot/line in the menu and click the enter button - speed adjust function probably toggles between 'active' and 'off/inactive'
  2. What are the advantages of Ghost immobiliser over standard OEM system? The supplier would probably be the best source for answer to your question - but I can't see that it would affect SS, as the vehicle is only on stand-by when SS activates, not fully shut down.
  3. 6K sounds quite a lot for two years younger - is the newer vehicle a similar spec?
  4. Antenna test would almost certainly require a specialist signal strength meter, but there is normally a user display available on the screen that displays the number of satellites currently in view - on the Amundsen MIB2, this is viewable when operated in 'split-screen mode' You will need to consult the manual for your specific infotainment system. Anything fewer than 3 or 4 satellites in range while vehicle has a clear view of the sky will give unreliable fixes.
  5. Get the GPS antenna tested, it is not uncommon for water to damage PCB in antenna base.
  6. Hello, welcome to the forum. ^^^ the above, plus Is the infotainment system original - or aftermarket?
  7. The independent garage needs to have licensed access to VAG systems to enable the electronic maintenance log records to be kept up to date.
  8. Plus it also disables the door deadlocks in the event that passengers remain in the vehicle while it is locked.
  9. Hello, welcome to the forum. The aftermarket radio could well be a suspect, has the parasitic drain reduced since that was disconnected? Has the battery been thoroughly tested?
  10. Is there a subframe bolt missing in images 1, 3 & 4?
  11. If your Jerry Can is the usual type, there is a flexible filler spout available that clamps onto the can - great if you intend to use the can again in future. I'd suggest using a filter gauze too.
  12. Hello, welcome to the forum. Must have been a hell of a bump. Practically a certainty that's the cause of your issue. Check for where that should be plugged in to and refit.
  13. On the Mk3 the alarm will activate if the vehicle is unlocked using the emergency cylinder - I assume the Mk2 is similar. You would need to notify your insurance provider before replacing any lock.
  14. The Mk3 does not have a clutch on the A/C compressor - the compressor is permanently engaged unless the shear-plate on the pulley has failed.
  15. @davegr don't give up on the forum, if you find any particular members attitude 'difficult' or objectional, just put an ignore flag on them.
  16. Sorry to hear of your problem. Have you reported this to the Police? Yes, a lot of vehicle key fobs can be copied with appropriate hardware. Probably your best option would be an auto locksmith. Deleting the offending key might work - but if your key has actually been copied (or cloned) doing this will probably delete your key also. Even if the offending key was deleted, the vehicle can still be unlocked by using the physical emergency key cylinder.
  17. There is a possible issue with fuel rail securing bolts for some 1.4TSIs around 2015 - 2017 - where bolts have sheared-off or loosened, resulting in fuel leaks and stoppage. There was a fairly extensive recall for this for North American vehicles, but apparently no action was taken by DVSA over here! Both myself and at least one other forum member have had this failure - but I definitely wouldn't rule out this engine because of it, I think it's a great one.
  18. First check that the compressor shear-plate (on compressor pulley) is still intact. Strongly suggest having the refrigerant gas charge checked - if that's been lost, have the A/C system leak-tested and repaired before having the system recharged by an A/C technician.
  19. To be fair to OP, the reversing light wouldn't be particularly visible from that approach angle in daylight. I believe the onus is fully on the reversing vehicle to ensure way is clear before moving.
  20. A really bad idea to even consider using cruise in fog and snow or heavy rain - these are conditions where the driver needs to be fully in control at all times.
  21. Is the exhaust smoke blue? Is the engine using oil - if so, how much per 1000 km? Has a compression test been done?
  22. Hello, bad idea to post your vehicle index number on any public forum. Take a look at your V5 registration document - the first 3 or 4 characters of the engine number is your engine type identification - use this to identify the part required.
  23. Fixed schedule is annual, even if fewer than 10K miles covered Flexible schedule is for vehicles that cover relatively high milage in a year and is either two years or a certain mileage. Longer runs are much better for the engine, where most of the miles are while the engine (and oil) is fully warmed up. Most of the wear and oil contamination occurs while the engine is not fully up to temperature.
  24. How long has it taken to cover those miles? Probably not too much to worry about if majority of miles were on long runs.
