  1. Fiddling the Odo reading on a trip could affect the range per charge by stating that the vehicle has travelled 76 miles per trip, when it was actually only travelling 25 miles. The inflated cumulative distance would make it appear the vehicle was achieving a much greater distance between charges.
  2. Lawsuit filed on Feb. 7 in California, reported on Newswire, published 9/4/25 - action involves a 2020 model Y.
  3. Apart from the warranty aspect, that would also indicate an inflated range per charge.
  4. Hello, welcome to the forum. Does your Amundsen system use a SD card for the GPS? If so, what is the date of the card?
  5. AFAICS, there is no detriment to using long life oil on annual oil servicing plan - apart from (possibly) slightly increased cost of the product - long life oil will possibly be blended to a higher standard / or contains improved additives to allow for the longer service periods. Provided the oil complies with the required standard, it will be suitable.
  6. Hello, welcome to the forum. Is a misfire code being logged on the ECU? Has replacing the plugs or coil packs been tried? Unless they were tested under load on a dyno, it would be unlikely to be able to produce the same conditions that trigger the misfire.
  7. If it is not actually necessary to disturb or remove the cam sprockets, holding tools are possibly not required so long as the camshafts stay locked in position - but this is a job I would rather pay a tech for. I'll flag this to @ApertureS for advice for you.
  8. Hello, welcome to the forum. From some of the cautionary tales I've seen on here after the camshafts have been allowed to move, even only very slightly, because the cams were not completely locked in position, I'd strongly suggest investing in the correct tools for the job. I've even seen instances where supposed professionals have got it wrong.
  9. So likely just high wear on the front seats then.
  10. A quick question - do the rubber pads on the pedals also appear more worn than you would expect - or even brand new?
  11. How wide is the base (furthest from tow ball) of the triangle? - purely a guess, but I'd suggest it is a guide for trailer, when reversing, to prevent jack-knifing.
  12. ... and slightly lower emissions.
  13. I've just used Mannol 5W-30 for my recent oil service - it was still certified as VW504-507.
  14. @Cubbs Did you get a resolution to your problem?
  15. My moneys on Duck 2 being a mallard.
  16. Note, it is possible that when the coolant level falls to a point where the expansion bottle is completely empty, air pockets can become trapped in the coolant passages of the engine - if this is the case, it may take some time for the trapped air to be purged from the system, the coolant level will drop as this air gets purged, mimicking a leak.
  17. It should not use (lose) coolant at all - as I suggested earlier, monitor the coolant level regularly from now on to check if it is losing it. Take it back to garage if it is.
  18. From the post, it reads as if it was the coolant that had the 700ml top up.
  19. Low annual distances travelled (or regular short trips) make regular oil servicing even more important - you should consider planning your servicing on an annual basis.
  20. Has the coolant level fallen since you topped up 700ml? Strongly advise you to monitor both oil and coolant levels more frequently - the oil usage is probably normal given the distance travelled, but the coolant really needs to be kept a very close eye on for some time until you can confirm there is no leakage. Why is there so long between oil services - do you plan one soon? It is a big mistake to simply rely on warning lights instead of doing regular engine checks.
  21. Are you seriously saying that the oil in your engine has not been checked for 26000 Km? Yes it is normal for an ICE engine to consume a small amount of lubricating oil - but, at that distance, I'd have thought the oil would have been due for a change in any case! For your ghost coolant level warning, did you visually check the coolant level yourself before taking it to the service centre? Was the level below the minimum level marked on the side of the expansion tank?
  22. A different model, but still indirect TPMS - my Octavia does identify which wheel has triggered the warning - but the wheel ID message disappears very shortly after the warning chime - leaving just the general tyre pressure loss warning message.
  23. Do tell, what did they do to p155 you off so much? Name and shame.
  24. I'm not sure of the MkIV tank capacity, but I'd suggest putting in 10 litres, you could try leaving the ignition on so that you are able to read the gauge while filling. Annoying, but it will be much cheaper to err on the slightly generous side (to the rental co) - the penalty 'refuelling' charges will result in probably the most expensive fuel anywhere!
  25. Completely agree - the Combi is even worse in rain - to the point of virtually zero rear vision directly behind without the wiper.
