Is this a 1.5 TSI? Price (for a dealer) appears pretty reasonable provided condition is good. Surprising that it does not appear to have been serviced at two years though.

What is the model specification of the vehicle you are buying? Spec should identify what infotainment system is fitted. My assumption is that this car is not new.

Don't forget that VAG pure ICE vehicles from at least 2015 are actually micro-hybrids, the battery charging system is designed to use energy recuperation, which is why alternator charging is restricted to approx. 75% battery max SOC.

Time charged but not worked per service, plus the sum charged for parts specified but not fitted - likely to amount to a considerable sum over a year. 😒

I found the same with two main dealers during the first 4 years with my Octavia - which is why I only use independents now.

I believe that the dealer has breached UK contract law if that is the case - unless a copy of the contract was offered, but declined by you, which should have been noted (and signed by you) on the contract. I suspect the contract will be void.

Four things on that readout stand out straight away - all intermittent. - System voltage too low. - Fuel pressure regulator. - Fuel pressure sensor. - Fuel injector number 2. These all need to be checked.

It depends on what infotainment system you have installed, is there a 'Navigation' button on the screen? The settings menu will give the system details.

The 'slop' in the conrod bearing would need to be truly enormous to significantly affect the timing of that cylinder - at which point either the rod would let go, or the piston would contact the valves.

Pressing the brake pedal while the engine is stopped will restart the engine due to depletion of brake booster vacuum - is that what is possibly happening here?

You will need to tag one of the Vrs owners to confirm, I did see engine code DLB(A) listed as being for EA888/3 - but could not find codes for EA113. If your engine has a cam chain, it's EA888 - EA113 uses a cam belt.

What is the name of this dealer? Were you supplied with a copy of the order form?

Is your Octavia a Vrs 245? According to VAG website, EA888 DLB is a gen3 engine. Are you sure your engine series is EA888 and not EA113?

Check your engine number.

You can check on a VAG website using the engine number prefix (3 or 4 letters) This engine code may also be listed on the B pillar label. Your engine will be at least Gen3.

Easiest way would be to pull the switch out and follow the wiring loom.

What did the engine air filter look like?

Unfortunately, can't advise on places in your area. Check the plugs as well as the coil packs for cause of misfires. Do you have the total count for misfires? I think there is a limit for acceptable levels of misfire count, above which, it is flagged.

Not sure on the V5 prefix - mine and SWMBOs show all 4 characters. CCZA would be correct for yours. Four CCZA common problems are high oil use (piston rings) stretched timing chain or faulty chain tensioner, ignition coil pack failures and failing PCV valve. Definitely need to check the timing chain, that 1st audio file sounds bad. Does your VCDS scan indicate any misfire count? I'm unable to comment on VCDS parameters, but I believe there is a function that gives a readout for timing chain stretch. See if you can tag one of the members on the VCDS register. Good luck.

Certainly would not expect the pollen filter to look like that after 9 months unless it's been on the Paris - Dakar.

How long ago was vehicle purchased? Did you research vehicle before purchase? Dealer or private sale? Is there a full service record showing regular oil changes with correct grade?

Engine code CCZ ? (4th character = A,B,C,D ?) indicates EA888 Gen2 engine. Strongly suggest getting the timing chain and tensioner inspected ASAP.

I think a 2011 2.0TSI VRS will be a EA888 engine, which has a timing chain. @fy1 your engine code can be found as a 4-letter prefix to the engine number on the V5 document.
