  1. Stonekeeper posted an image of a MB data plate as an example - often located on drivers side B pillar.
  2. Are you able to check your actual plated value - is it 0.8?
  3. You did originally say that it emitted white smoke for two minutes after start from a long stand - was this incorrect?
  4. But is the testing station applying the correct limit to your vehicle?
  5. @apfm141 I looked up the 2023 spec for the Monte Carlo - it says that the light & view pack is standard - this pack includes - High Beam control and Rain sensors (used to operate the automatic wipers)
  6. The question you need to ask - was the air filter actually replaced during the last service?
  7. Are you sure the features you want aren't already fitted? I thought the Monte Carlo was a fairly high spec model. Check - headlight switch has Auto position. AFAIK auto headlights are compulsory in some countries. Check for RLHS sensor mounted behind rear view mirror.
  8. I've always thought the lights, when switched to 'auto' position, turned on in wet conditions because of the low light levels present.
  9. If that battery was near to fully charged and voltage has dropped to less than 40% in two weeks on open circuit, it is probably bad. It may be possible to recover, but almost certainly beyond it.
  10. Hello, welcome to the forum. Is item number two actually a possible option you've seen? - I've never heard of it.
  11. @ApertureS Do you know the TPI number for the Kangaroo issue - or if there was in fact a TPI issued for it?
  12. Assuming you have the MFSW with the L&K, have you scrolled through all the display options in the Maxidot?
  13. If head gasket problems are suspected, best advice as a first check is to test coolant with a combustion products test kit.
  14. My understanding is that fog lights need to be mounted as low as possible so as to use the narrow, relatively clear 'slot' that often exists just above the surface - So far, so good - however it is critical that the fog beams are very tightly controlled to prevent upwards light scatter, which will reflect off the fog.
  15. There certainly appears to be too much 'scatter', for those additional lights to be effective as fog lights. In fog, they will just blind both the driver - and oncoming traffic.
  16. ^^^^ Plus, do not allow them to fob you off - inform them that you are aware there is in fact a TPI issued for this exact fault.
  17. There's only three places the oil can be going - onto the ground, out the crankcase breather - or out the exhaust. Is it calling for frequent DPF regens? If it's burning that quantity of oil, there should be a significant amount of smoke, especially on the overrun. I'd suggest getting a compression test done.
  18. It appears that yours is the EA189 engine - which was the one involved in Dieselgate - but I've not been able to find any particular issues with oil consumption with this engine. How many miles has it done?
  19. If there errors being sent from one of the ABS wheel sensors, that will raise an ABS fault. Do you have automatic idle stop (stop/start) and/or cruise control - does they operate correctly?
  20. Therefore a EA888 engine - either Gen 3 or 4? Have you done a search on this forum for oil consumption issues with this engine? Are you sure the smoke on start up is white, not blue? Heavy blue smoke after standing for a period possibly suggests worn valve guides. White exhaust smoke suggests burnt coolant, unless it is simply steam condensation you are seeing - which is normal for a cold engine. Does the exhaust smoke heavily on throttle up after running downhill or after 'backing off' on engine overrun? Ignore the first line, I misread that you in fact have a TDI. Lines 3, 4 & 5 will still apply to your engine.
  21. Hello, welcome to the forum. - It will help others if you say what engine you have - and whether TSI or TDI. - How many miles are you driving in a week? - Is there heavy, blue smoke from the exhaust on first start from cold?
  22. @Vijay2018 does your engine not have an oil level dipstick?
  23. Hello, welcome to the forum. I'm sure that someone will come along soon and post the relevant TPI number for this well documented issue.
  24. The 14 volt test reading, if taken under correct conditions (engine off and surface charge dissipated) cannot be true unless your battery is being seriously overcharged. In fact, that reading should be impossible unless the alternator is running.
  25. I note there are also a number of low voltage faults on that scan, strongly suggest a full battery test to check condition. A failing battery will often raise spurious DTCs
