  1. Hello, welcome to the forum. Strongly suggest you get the battery tested, preferably on a high-load discharge test. Even if the engine appears to be starting OK, a failing battery is very often the cause of this type of problem. Does your automatic stop/start work normally?
  2. There could possibly be a date stamp on the top of negative terminal = WW.YY.
  3. Hello, welcome to the forum. Pretty sure there would be no issue. IIRC ET46 will stand out 6mm further from the suspension than ET40. Take a look at wheel website 'Will They Fit' and input original and proposed data. You should advise your insurance of the change.
  4. Hello, welcome to the forum. These batteries are designed to be sealed, that's why they are called SLA/VR type (sealed Lead Acid/ Valve Regulated) - they will vent by blowing out the vent plug if abused by overcharging. The sealed design is to allow the gases generated during charging or high discharge to recombine rather than being lost to atmosphere and losing electrolyte.
  5. Quite appalling, yet somehow not surprising that your Stealer did not realise a 245 vRS is a petrol! I guess I know where you will be taking your car for future servicing.
  6. I've never had to remove a steering lock barrel, so I don't know - the procedure you've found seems simple enough though. I guess you can practice on the scrapper first.
  7. Seemingly, the operative word being Independent - I don't recall any postings where enfranchised Skoda service centres do this.
  8. That sounds like worth a try, provided you can get the old barrel out. One problem will be that you will have different keys for door and ignition. I think the immobiliser coils will be the same, they simply read the chip in the key fob.
  9. With the number of images of blocked Haldex pump filter screens posted, I cannot credit that dealers still claim that the service schedule does not require the screen to be cleaned!
  10. Hello, welcome to the forum. I assume this is a TSI - the regen process for a PPF is different to that for a DPF - PPF does a regen on throttle-off overrun.
  11. Was the original SD card a branded 'Skoda' one? Are you aware that some nav units will only accept Skoda or VAG cards?
  12. From my Karting days, I recall that NGK plugs often ran about 1/2 a heat range hotter than the equivalent plug from other manufacturers.
  13. Hi, welcome to the forum. Is the new card the correct (Skoda/VAG) one - or a standard SD card?
  14. - Or heat range of plugs incorrect, I.e. plugs too hot.
  15. It depends on how long engine was operated with no oil pressure - if crank and conrod bearings have 'run' I would imagine a complete engine rebuild (top & bottom) - or replacement engine would be required! The cause of the loss of oil pressure (possible oil pump failure?) would also need to be investigated. Repair cost could well be close to being uneconomic. What is the mileage?
  16. I rather fear the damage has already occurred. Serious damage to connecting rod bearings (probably the knocking sound on your audio file) will be almost immediate once oil pressure is lost.
  17. How long has vehicle been driven with oil pressure warning light - is this the red warning indicator - or the yellow one? Was oil level correct before it was changed? There is a very strong likelihood of serious engine damage if oil pressure failure warning was ignored.
  18. That will almost certainly be a faulty rear hatch sensor switch - does the trunk light work?
  19. Hello Sarah, welcome to the forum. Unless the missed/delayed service related to a gear box required item, I believe your warranty should not be affected. Assume you have DSG - could you post details of your engine/gearbox? (engine code) Other members should be able to offer advice.
  20. My limited understanding is that it is something to do with the compartmentalisation of the card.
  21. Hello, welcome to the forum. Have you checked if a specialist supplier can make one for you?
  22. What infotainment system do you have? suspect it's MIB2. Are you certain the card is formatted correctly? for maps, the MIB2 requires correct card - normally a Skoda branded one. Somewhere in my memory, I recall maximum SD card size allowed is 32gb.
  23. I'd suggest ignoring instantaneous fuel readings, try using the average ones for a more meaningful calculation.
  24. I suggest checking all wheel hubs for unusual heating after driving a few kilometres - preferably somewhere where hard braking is not required.
  25. Hello, welcome to the forum. Have you checked for binding brakes?
