Actually thinking back the above was innacurate, at the traffic lights on hills drivers would leave a small gap, the car in front would roll back making contact and stopping, that was the cue for the driver to lift the clutch!

Leave your handbrake off and the car out of gear if parked in a line of vehicles like that in Paris - no incline, close parked, no division lines between spaces, Parisien drivers will reverse carefully and push the whole line of cars backwards or forwards to create enough room to get in or out, they get really grumpy if the one behind has the handbrake on 🤣 I drove to Monaco in a VW Combi around 1985 for the Grand Prix, drivers there did not do or perhaps did not know how to do hillstarts at traffic lights, each one would drive up to and bump the car in front and hold on the footbrake, when they pulled away they would not use the handbrake, the car behind would hold them, not knowing this we left a gap and every time the vehicle in front would roll back and crunch into us then swear and shake their fist as if it was my fault 😒 after that because the bumpers on a split screen Bedbug were proper iron I would leave a much bigger gap so they got up more speed and caused themselves more damage 😄 We parked up for the weekend in the street amongst a line of parking spaces like on the video, sleeping and eating in the van, all day long it was getting bashed into from parkers in front and behind, I would get out to remonstrate with the worst offenders only to find nobody in the car that had hit us, it was a driver 3 or 4 cars further along!

the truth about electric cars
6 out of the 8 people in the photograph are wearing swimming costumes so its probably a reasonable assumption that the photo (or is it a video still?) was taken from the beach side of the property.

That "White Meter" is not a tarif in the UK. Intelligent Octopus Go gives you six hours of cheap, green energy from 11.30 pm to 5.30 am every night at a super low rate of 7.5p per kWh

Do you not check the level weekly/monthly or at the very least when it is returned from a service? I would not even start the engine after a dealer had serviced a vehicle without checking the fluid levels and for indications that they have replaced the parts they are billing for.- Please engage reverse gear and indicate
It must be psychic if it believes that you want to reverse parallel park if you havn't even selected reverse gear 🤣- Crash sensor G190 (00945)
Regarding the coding for a specific car, on the Yeti the crash data was removed by a specialist company as I said, not by me with VCDS, so it went back on the same vehicle but they could have supplied an exchange one which would have worked, how they achieve that I don't know. On the MK1 Octavia you 100% can fit an airbag controller (the correct name) from another vehicle and it will work plug and play, I am guessing it would have to have the same part number, maybe even revision, back then I knew none of these things, I just removed one, fitted it to my vehicle and it worked, as I said I may have had to ask my garagiste pal to delete any fault code to get the airbag light off, I cant recall.- clutch slave cyclinder in Octavia 2008 6 speed
Is it mounted on the casing and not an internal concentric one? I thought all 6 speed gearboxes had a concentric slave cylinder. Your description of the symptoms and no leaks is consistent with an internal concentric cylinder, if its the external mounted one then you use your eyes, if you really need procedures then you are not up to doing the simple job but if you have already changed the master cylinder which is really difficult then you must be. Perhaps you are confusing the bleed block AKA clutch peak torque limiter with the cylinder? How did you bleed the clutch after replacing the master cylinder?- Crash sensor G190 (00945)
On my MK1 that sensor failed, no crash, no deployment, I did not have VCDS at the time but a garagiste friend read the code (I dont know what it was) and tried & failed to reset it, I fitted one I removed from another MK1 in a breakers yard, fitted it and it worked it did not need coding to the vehicle. Its possible that I had to get him to delete the code to get the airbag light out after fitting, I cant recall, it was a long time ago.- Crash sensor G190 (00945)
Not the short to ground error. My post crash module had an error code that whilst I cant recall the words was unmistakably that it had been deployed and non fuctional. The crash data was removed by a specialist company and it functions again, or at least I hope it will, I hope even more to never get to find out!- the truth about electric cars
Good to finally see a photo from Oz or NZ the correct way up! 😄 I cannot for the life of me orientate myself on the Google earth image, which house is the one that torched?- Check Left Front Side Light
Thanks for the explanation.- Please engage reverse gear and indicate
That made me chuckle 😄 I was laughing not because you did not know about the system but imaging myself in that situation, I would not want to drive the car any further! However as someone whose default response to being told what to do (without why) is "shan't!" then I would be immune to such intrusions!- Towing weight
A wiser man than me!- Towing weight
If that was a response to my posting then you are addressing a lost cause!- Check Left Front Side Light
A 27 minute video to show you how to change a sidelight bulb 😯😯😯 As you can guess I didn't watch it! Also seeing the markers along the time scale it looked like there would be 5 or more sets of adverts to suffer. So how long is what should be the 5 minute job of changing a sidelight bulb on that model if the video takes 27 minutes?- the truth about electric cars
Nothing baffling about it, fare paying passengers do not drive the vehicle so are not inconvenienced by having pedals intruding into their legroom. If a private hire driver has size 15 feet like you claim to have then they would likely choose a different vehicle, its clearly not a problem for all the other Yaris owner drivers.- Remap for my estate
- Fitting aftermarket towbar
It is indeed and I don't!- Towing weight
Silly recommendation when some vehicles cannot legally tow anything (not that I would take any notice but others do), and some vehicles like the Yetis and Range Rovers quoted can tow significantly more then their unladen weight.- EFB or AGM Battery ?
I drove 500 miles on 3 cylinders after having removed a conrod and piston in an aire d'autoroute after running a big end bearing, I used a jubilee clip and plastic shim to block the oil hole in the damaged crankshaft journal. It was amazing how smoothly it ran on 3 cylinders without a piston opposing compression on the 4th cylinder, someone could even sell a car like that saying it was slightly down on power, possible misfire 😄- Fuel Pump Issues
What potential cause are you asking about and a potential cause of what?- Once a week it does this
Normal behaviour for a DPF regeneration. How many miles are you doing between occurences? What is your habitual journey profile, how many miles, average speed, urban or autoroute etc? Regens should normally only happen when up to operating temperature and a host of other conditions, if they cannot complete (you end the journey before completion) then after a couple of occurences it will start regenning from cold. Have you not noticed the radiator fans running when this happens and also them running after engine shut down?- "Police siren" when changing gear from 2 to 3
Yes, once a syncro has worn if people dont know how or choose not to double declutch then they overcome the baulk ring function by force and each crunch damages the engagement teeth between the synchro hub and the mainshaft gear resulting in the gear(engagemnt) eventually jumping out under power or over-run. But that really is a last century problem, perhaps the OP's car has done a strataspheric mileage? I still cannot reconcile the talk of a Police siren noise and wonder if we are way off track from the real problem. - 1.5 TSI Oil Consumption
