  1. Mind you I still think for the "average user" I.e. one with limited technical knowledge not to hack the mib2 high map files around. We might be dependent on you or whoever has access to the Audi servers if the mib2 high map files are continued to be rolled out beyond 2025 as you suggested re the TT ?. Then some clever "cool" soul to rework mib3 to mib2 high. I'm sure that possible.
  2. That would fail the SLA1 signature.... Well I reckon. You cant mess with the contents of those directories without resigning them and nobody knows the private keys. You can shuffle the files using that back door trick used on the AIO software but you would be redoing all those checksums ($). Clever people that do that unless they got it automated. $ assuming you can do that on the map files. That's where I'd like someone to take mib3 maps and make mib2 high ones if / when they pull the plug on mib2 high updates. Suggested that to Chillout who said it would be "cool". We may need a cool person in the future to keep mib2 high updates going. Hands up.
  3. About the same time as before accept cartography grows so you just have that factored in. The mib2 directory has a steering file in it. The previous release had a steering file in the mib1 directory as well now gone. They have just dropped the files it doesn't need to touch for mib2. That's my interpretation of what's been done.
  4. Indeed it is. Previously it was a joint release for mib1 and mib2 high. It danced between the two directories extracting the bits it required having sensed whether it was being installed on a mib1 high or mib2 high. Now it's been split into two releases. One for mib1 and one for mib2. The Russian link gave the mib1 version as well as mib2. You can see why it's been done since it had out grown a 32gb card. It was marginal last time around on how the card was manufactured. Now it does definitely fit on a 32gb SD card formatted to fat32, the defacto Vag standard. If you do use a bigger card or usb keep in exFat. Note just to complicate matters mib2 bits were stored in the mib1 directory... it's still like that so you just install as is... no clever user operations are required. Take that download, unzip, copy across. Do that CleanMyDrive operation if using a Mac. Btw... I feel it's like that movie that was released before Xmas when the North Koreans didn't like the movie so they gave it away. Got the feel.
  5. At one stage people board the dongle from Amazon on fast delivery and Pro license online direct. Isnt Black Friday sometime 🤔. Currently direct https://obdeleven.com/products Online for the whole lot hasn't changed much but Amazon + pro direct was quicker.
  6. It will go fine. There is a validation check made on the sla1 signed files which stops rubbish being loaded into the unit. Then the normal process has a roll back if interrupted so restarts from a restore point. You normally drive about and after 30 - 40 mins you get the update. The other way is to start it off and open and close the door every 15 minutes. That allows the process to run through without interruption. The infotainment unit keeps live by opening the door. Power goes on for 20 minutes. 15 minute period gives you a grace 5 minutes. I do mine on the backend menu but that isn't for beginner. Just shows you what is happening. The units have a built in SSD so like modern PCs, laptops etc designed to be updated. I wouldn't worry. As posted I got the latest installed without issue (350): From Vag PDF Same for all VAG cars. Installing the map material • Insert the SD card into one of the SD card slots on your vehicle until it audibly clicks into place. • Now select the “MENU” button on the Discover Pro. Click on “Update software” in the “Setup” menu under “Version information”. Now follow the instructions on the display of the Discover Pro. Unzip, copy across then above.
  7. 350 via the Mibsolution website loaded fine on a Seat: The components loaded fine as per the SWDL screen: Put it on demo and took a run... No problems.
  8. You do assuming you have as you say a Mib2 high which is the Columbus MIB2, click update or whatever.... the confusing thing is the mod who pins these map update thread hasn't pinned the June 2023 release which was published in April 2023 by MartiniB: and then to add to this if you want to go experimental and use the November 2023 release which has been "found" then it's here Guest and guest is the login and password on the mibsolutions link. 330 is the last official release, 335 is the one being talked about recently on bottom of that thread at the moment.
  9. Files are dated April on that one above which feels about right. If it's a beta there would need to be a range of alternatives builds with that date so we'll see what comes along on the final release. I'll try loading it into a Seat tomorrow. BTW still impressed with Inrix TMC UK solution pulling up traffic issues.
  10. The destinations are stored inside the infotainment unit rather than the card. Either that file has got corrupted or the sat nav has lost its GPS location. You do hear of that. A long press on the on/off button to force a reboot of the unit if the program has taken a wander out of memory. Fixes most things. Given you posted that on Sunday it might have achieved a reboot by now. Failing that a visit to a dealer. The green menu is suppose to tell you stuff about the GPS location. These units do lock onto a lot of satellites. That can be shown on the normal screen. Suspect it just needs a reboot.
  11. The one click apps come down to whether you trust what it's doing. They are like Excel spreadsheets they start a process and if it goes wrong you are stuck as everything thing is out of alignment. Sinking feeling. I've never used the Obdeleven one click apps always the programming so you know what it's doing. You can unravel what you did from the history file. On newer models coding options arent published as one click apps so you get the fun of researching it yourself. The mqb evo lane assist under taking, over taking, slamming the brakes on etc were identified by the community where it could be fixed. The one click authors sniff about the boards looking for code. This is where fixes are published as one click apps that aren't tested and don't work. It's true that after a year you can probably end the pro license at doing what you want in the first year. My main use now is turning the stop start on and off between services and clearing infotainment error codes from meddling in the backend. Those two you wouldn't be doing on the newer mqb evo platform in any case now.
  12. SFD and coding device manufacturers are all in the same boat, it's a hand shaking protocol between Vag and the manufacturers of these devices. A message goes to Vag from the supporters of your device that says I need a token, token comes back, yes you can do that. No license, no token. There is a diagram on the net when it was first introduced. The one click people pay for it via the micro payment apps, the big boys that do coding via the a license payment. Obdeleven covers both bases, the micro payment apps which challenge the Carista market / similar devices and the Pro side that change the coding VCDS side. Added to this fun Obdeleven have the Ultra product which gets users to do their work for them by writing the coding for the micro payment apps. That is crowd sourcing of generating the apps. They pay for the privilege of that. Reality is the safest coding is to do it yourself not via micro payment apps and fork out for VCDS type laptop solutions or Obdeleven Pro. A standard Obdeleven device becomes a Pro by entering the license code. The one click apps and devices are for chancers that like things simple.
  13. Its the OBDEleven Pro you want if "coding" the non Pro form is like the other one it's a black box. You don't know what it's doing to the coding of the car and how to get back. Coding you do since you reverse what you did. The non coding apps are black box macros running which if they bomb out you leave the cars coding stuffed. Obdelevn without Pro are the micro payment apps where you buy units or earn them. The pro license has an annual payment. VCDS would be land you with a fee but you need a laptop. Anybody who had the Obdeleven prior to circa 2021 has a free license for life and anybody later has to shell out. All comes down to the level of risk you are prepared to take with black box solutions. The so called coding on Obdeleven Pro is just flicking screen icons.
  14. Well all of the car manufacturers served by Traffic Master would have had to renew their licence. Could have been they priced themselves out. For Inrix they would have had to sign up contracts and do a recall for coding on the high unit etc. That service is still viable since it's still running and the data is used by government agencies and other car manufacturers. Reckon two income sources. Connected services is the Vag mib3 solution which has an income model. Some connect services for mib2 if the relative brand supports it. Seat not for mib2, never took off. Depends on other brands. The smartphone services for others. Many dont want their smartphone running these services and those map providers are not proper mapping companies that publish defective maps. Horses for courses. Vag just pulled the plug on Traffic Master by not agreeing a contract or Traffic Master wanted to get out of the business. Fortunately DIY solutions exist for those that use TMC. On the thread above.
  15. Read as we aren't going to do anything about it 😏.
  16. Seat's showing the June 2022 at the minute which is 21.7 according to the documentation. Its that YY.MM which must be in the file that i'e yet to find. That website is a year behind the VW one. I started this thread off on the Seat side with information on how to do the offline maps with the VW direct link, saves registering: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/updating-the-inbuilt-mib3-satnav-offline.472408/ I reckon it's the NDS file where the YY.MM is why I brought @pcbbc into the conversation since they have a script to read them. I'd have a go myself if it was in there....
  17. @MartiniB Hopefully this link will work for you https://www.seat.co.uk/owners/your-seat/navigation/map-updates Interesting it gives assorted file links for each screen size. Without seeing the release year as YY.MM I'm advising people to stick with the VW direct mib3 map file links since they are always the most up to date for mib2 if you don't have the connect services contract. I suspect @pcbbc would be able to read within the files to find the YY.MM. It must be in there. We have established like mib2 high, mib3 Map files are interchangeable across the Vag brand as expected and for mib3 there is no mapcare issues for Seat as there were for mib2 high e.g.. same status for updates as VW and Skoda. Not sure of Audi. Income generation for map material is via connect services now for the brands. Last time I looked the Skoda download was very old. I'm think similar to your mib2 high offline files, the mib3 direct links can be usefully published.
  18. It could be they are just feeding more data, Inrix via the FM broadcast is showing more data than Traffic Master ever did. As I mentioned before I reckon there is a market in travel data these days so it's bought and sold between providers.
  19. As long as the eBay seller isn't a rip off merchant you will have no problem with any of the three brands they are interchangeable, all recognised.
  20. First the pinning of MartiniB thread by the mod has gone a bit side wise for the last year so the June 2023 files are on this thread If you aren't driving across the breath of Europe use the second file down. If you need all of Europe buy a 32gb Skoda or Seat or VW card, makes no difference they all have a VAG CID on them that the unit will read and say, yes this is a valid map card. You can't use any old SD card. If you buy a new card, just take a copy of it. Then do a delete not a reformat. With the zip file, unzip the contents and drag across to the SD card. Job done.
  21. GB solution if anyone is casually reading this is further up the thread or the French solution above which PCBBC helped out with.
  22. Should have read "did for you"... sure we have AI now that deliberately messes stuff up 🙄.
  23. The French solution to your own disappearing TMC that PCBBC didn't for you. I guess that's only the French solution the GB solution is further up to clarify.
  24. For mib2 standard V12 if a Mib2 high (Columbus in Skoda lingo branding) you can use the latest maps for that. Both solutions on the thread thanks to the two experts on the thread .
  25. Indeed it would be nice to get the TT 5 years for sure (2023+5). I've been working on 2020+5, worst scenario would be 2019+5. You'll have to point out where the TT file server is 🤔. Audi people turn up on MartiniB's threads after doing the AOL firmware update / Mib Tools... I cant say I follow Audi boards but note they have a navigation FeC upgrade when they arrive. Seat and Audi still operating mapcare limitations. Seat / Cupra lifted it in the final period on their production models.
