  1. So as you may know, I have a Springer Spaniel who travelled in the boot of the car, but that was effort including taking the dog guard from one car to the other and so on. Instead of this, I started a thread looking for a harness to hook onto the rear seats so my wee "pup" could travel in style. As such, he got my rear seat bases full of hairs and mud. See here: The stains on the seats are from when a mate spilled Cola when I put the foot down coming out of a junction... To combat this, I channelled my inner pensioner, and stole an old tartan duvet/blanket and whacked it over the seat bases like so: To finish, I also added the second of two mascots to my car, a Tesco 'Y2K bug' thing. Both are tucked behind the headrest and the little millennium critter is tucked away nicely using a cable tie to said head restraint. And a piccy of my Furby for good measure... That is all for now, weary readers.
  2. Honestly, this might be the best description of a fault I've heard. Sorry I can't be of more help though!
  3. Okay, perhaps try process of elimination. See if you can grab a known good set from another Fabia and try them in yours to see if they're working. If not, then you may have a wiring fault.
  4. Check the wiring in the door cards if that helps.
  5. Hi folks. So me being the clumsy oaf that I am, has broken the height adjustment lever when I was replacing the door speakers (I was sitting in the seat facing to the outside). I had repaired it with lots of epoxy and refitting the brass threads, however, the plastic around them has sheared clean off. So now I'm looking for another one and am hoping someone would be able to provide a part number for this item? Many thanks, Ryan

  10. New phone means better photos of my Fabia, once I get to grips with it, that is. I have ordered some stuff for the Fabia yet again. All will be revealed very soon. A fitting guide (if not available already) will be created for one of said parts.

  12. Hi and welcome to the forums, Alex!
  13. You could spec it as an option on some models up until they dropped it from the configurator.
  14. Good idea. I wish I did the same.
  15. Echoing on VWD, maybe uprate the front discs to the VRS/2.0 ones. There's threads outlining what you'll need for a job like that. I don't know how much benefit you'll receive with discs on the rear over drums. I'll leave that one to the experts. As a side note, maybe look at getting stiffer springs or a rear anti-roll bar (more commonly referred to as a RARB on here) if you haven't got one already. I don't have one but apparently they're a game changer with the Fabia.
  16. Glad you're happy with your new motor. Hope it treats you well!
  17. Hi and welcome to the forums!
  18. Positive since my wee dog travels well now and in safe style, less positive for my upholstery...
  19. Welcome to the forums, Damien!
  20. I believe it's easier (in a relative sense, being no walk in the park, as they say) since it has the mountings there.
  21. Not a problem. I'd like to see how this unfolds as I may consider this for the future if my Fabia lasts long enough, but with an Ibiza swap.
