  1. They mount up no problem. The bumper, wings and wiring is completely different though
  2. Adaptation in 17 called 'Sport' enable it, that will give the sport single dial cluster. To adjust the display for both dial centre pieces it is done through the infotainment vehicle and scroll side ways to the next menu called AID - this needs enabling in the 5F adaptations also.
  3. cardiagn.com is what you want for both
  4. My money is on the el cheapo diagnostic tool being the issue, there is a reason workshop level diagnostic tools cost £1000s. Not to say yours won’t work on some modules or even some cars, but sounds like either poor hardware or poor software, what are you using for either?
  5. It will need scanning for faults, could be anything from an antenna, door latch, door handle, key fault. Only way to know is to plug it in sorry
  6. There is a TPI relating to faulty steering locks for kessy cars - still have to fork out the cost if it’s out of warranty though!
  7. Where did you get that info from? If it was a VW page that would be more plausible as the acc controls are on the wheel, and they possibly moved to a stalk version
  8. The steering wheel controls need to be specific for a heated steering wheel and for dsg paddles else there will be no connection for the temperature sensor or paddles. you also need a new airbag if your current one is for a pre 2019 model as your current one is too small.
  9. New mirror units ordered at £850 for the pair. better than the £750 each that other places sold them for! Should be able to sell the lhd ones and my original ones for £150ish each so £600 returned which helps to offset the cost from the brand new units. On another note, 2 of the door pocket lights are now fitted, just got to code them in;
  10. So i thought id test the wing mirror gamble today! LHD wing mirrors for 1/4 the price of RHD mirrors.... well.... they didnt fit exactly. So they physically mount up and such, the connections are all the same. The angle of the internal mirror frame is the problem. The mirror glass need adjusting to their absolute extremes for any chance of seeing anything - even then you cant get them into a good position. Even spacing them out with washers to tilt them. So if someone like my partner drove the car and had to move the seat forward - she would see nothing at all out the mirrors. So ill have to purchase the RHD mirrors as at this point im already very deep into the retrofit. £700 per mirror! As no one has a used one for sale anywhere in the UK 😞
  11. I mean, the full interior will be getting stripped from my car in the next 1-2 months so dont see why not ill post it in my project thread. The actual dash panel completely, i can get this out in around 2 hours now! Done a fair few
  12. The actual fix is to replace the complete heater box which is a complete dashboard strip out. It can be done and I can do them in a day, but it’s not cheap nor easy! I don’t often recommend a ‘bodge/repair’ but for this I might, as even my bill for this with parts and labour would be near enough £1000
  13. Let me know the vin number by PM and I can get you the service history this evening
  14. Replace the sump??? They make helicoil repair kits just for this, 5 minutes work and a fresh oil change and you are sorted. All in with the tool, oil, filter and new plug - probably £100 max £150 if you go buy a jack, axle stands and ratchet set from Lidl/aldi and fancied it yourself
  15. It is a shame how many people like yourself are finding main dealers completely incompetent and unable to diagnose a fault on their own brand of car. The tailgate system doesnt throw up many fault codes often so people dont look any further, but the live data has a wealth of knowledge for these modules and even has a live data for 'reason for last stop of tailgate' which can point you in the right direction for so many things!
  16. Every car with a single bulb for headlight and high beam from about 1990 has done it the exact same way without issue, all that it does is light above the 'shutter'/cut off, it doesnt make the light for normal headlamps any brighter, as much as us superb owners wish it would!
  17. I mean... after 3 sets of struts from different places of varying quality, did you not think that maybe the struts weren't the fault? What was diagnosed as the fault and how was it confirmed as faulty?
  18. Autodoc does nothing specific other than the make and model of car, so you need to be sure you are ordering the right one. For your car, the following apply, LED headlight D >> - 29.05.2017 1 566 941 015 C LED headlight left lhd 1 (1) 566 941 016 C LED headlight right lhd 1 12 7PP 941 597 C Control unit for LED lamp and/or Control unit for cornering light and headlight range ctrl and for models with fog lamps 2 13 8V0 907 397 AD Power module for day driving lights Turn signal indicator 2 (14) 7PP 941 571 AF Power module for main light electronics 2
  19. Just the one, not generally a failing component so no need to replace others. albeit I still check the others for any signs of failing
  20. OE is £180, The OEM one made by FAG is £40, I think I’ll go for the FAG one at them prices
  21. So after 3 years of ownership, the first mechanical problem has arisen - the nearside rear wheel bearing has failed. the sealed bearing seems to have split on one side and leaked all its grease causing a noise from the bearing. Parts on order at £50 for the bearing and caliper and carrier bolts and not too hard to change really, 30 mins work when they do turn up.
  22. This is the issue with dealerships, if its not written on a bit of paper, they have no idea how to do it! A bit of common sense from a mechanic says to undo the 2 bolts and it just pops out, but like you said, not a standard procedure so they wont do it
  23. Entered it where? If you give me your chassis number ill check the genuine system for you.
