  1. First question - do you have the electric tailgate? As this is only present on electric tailgate models. If you have a manual tailgate the latch is controlled by the body control module. The diagram you have provided is exactly where it should be Why did you want to get to it?
  2. Will need to go to a dealer or someone with genuine ODIS to unlock the radio and component protection system Nope, maybe a dab of super glue? There are no perfect clips on this trim and it does move slightly, but it shouldnt really bend in the middle, maybe pull it off and see if something is missing behind it?
  3. Wouldnt be my personal choice, Brembo hydraulic components are wonderful, but their friction materials.... well theres a reason original brake setups run Brembo calipers with other brand pads like ATE and TRW. If you want aftermarket go for TRW, Pagid or ATE. Plus brembo pads never have a chamfered edge causing a lot of noise and squealing at low speeds.
  4. An electronic handbrake is still an emergency brake. when the car is moving and you hold the E-brake, it will lock the rear brakes on and release them the moment you let go of the button. Regarding the pads - Brembo are just as bad to be honest! Eurocarparts have a funny way of getting their parts and often sell the cheapest stuff in a rebranded bosch, although normally thats Luk and Brembo, never seen it with Bosch. I hope youve reported it to Bosch/ECP for them to investigate.
  5. Did they clean the strainer element on the pump too?
  6. Travel assist is very different - it encorporates everything including predictive speed, self regulation based on signs and gps, route guidance regulation, much tighter lane control, blind spot monitoring It only came with the FL superb, but the adaptive lane assist was lane control alone with a fancy name. Whereas lane assist is just a little nudge to keep you inside the lines if you drift.
  7. I hope they are not ran across the width of the A pillar in any place as this can cover and obstruct the airbag and there is a chance if it was to deploy, it may not deploy properly. Pet peeve when people (including garages and halfords) do this! Not saying it will cause issues, but if your airbags are deploying, youd want them to deploy with no wires wrapped around them
  8. A few more updates! So this is the majority of the interior wiring for DCC as well as a photo of 4 brand new wiring looms for each of the arches, the 2 fronts with DCC plugs and level sensors, the rear just with additional DCC plugs. On top of this there is about 15 new wires through the firewall into the engine bay, lots and lots of work! Some more areaview updates - The control module arrived, 5Q0907556C is the most common module for datasets and is also the earliest revision used so should be compatible. The 4 HSD connectors for the cameras and the 1 coax for the output to the infotainment unit. The poor quality camera was sent back and a used genuine one was sourced instead, much better quality! As you can see, no wires coming off the back of it, instead a HSD connector type A waterproof. We are now going to talk more DATA CABLES! Again.... So there are two types in play here, we will start with the simple ones. Often called Fakra, but this is the connector type, instead they are Coaxial cables, a single copper core with a braided sleeve around it to prevent interference, used for video signals and for radio/antenna signals. These are quite easy to make up - a wire stripper, soldering iron, crimping tool and a magnifier glass. The cable choice was RG174 as this most closely matches the OE RTK031 but without the huge price tag! Ive used around 40 meters of the cable so far - tv tuner, phonebox and amplifier, areaview output, parking heater remote signal. Quite straight forward compared to the next type.... LVDS HSD Fakra so this type of cable luckily isnt used too much for my retrofits, but it is a low voltage high speed data transfer setup - very similar to a USB port. It contains 4 individual cables surrounded by a metal film, surrounded by a braided sleeve, surrounded by insulation. These 4 wires are power, ground, RX, TX - meaning with this single connector a component can get all it needs and send and recieve data - such as a tiny areaview camera. The OE connectors and cables are made by rosenberger - but they dont want to sell me any parts in quantities less than 10,000.... so ill stick with the RFDOTOP ones at £4 each the quality is very good and matches rosenberger ones exactly. The cable type im using is a Dacar 535 and the tools im using are a crimping tool, soldering iron and terminal crimping tool down to 0.03mm Now you would think each end of the cable goes pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2 and so on.... but no. These cables crossover, so pin 1 at one end will become pin 4 at the other end, heres a chart to make it easier. Every fakra HSD cable does this, side A and side B so it gets more complicated. Now if you have a single cable run its easy because side A in, side B out, but if you connect 2 together you go side A, side B, side A and it wont work. So cables always need to be in odd numbers - like they are on all VAG cars - or if you dont want to do that, you get a A to A cable, so when I run too cables it goes side A, side A, side B and you still get the switchover. So now we have solved the issue of keeping the crossover but with less cabling and connectors. Now building the cables is a different task all together.... very hard and as i learn to do it, ill post more details. The only other thing to note - there are around 10 different colours/codes for the connectors and they are not interchangeable (except code Z/water blue which is universal) so for the connector for the cameras themselves, they are Code A/black but they must be waterproof connectors (even inside the car) as they are longer to reach inside the camera.
  9. The octavia is on the MQB platform which covers skoda, vw, audi, seat. A lot of the parts MAY be cross compatible but not all. Body panels will be specific to that make and model.
  10. the easiest in my opinion and the official method is to remove the rear bumper, not too hard to do either
  11. How close did he get with the water to cause ingress? You’re not meant to put a jet wash within a meter or two of the car really. Especially an industrial one! It shouldn’t need any kind of sealant really. yeah that’s referred to as the button - it’s a handle with a electronic button internal.
  12. I work full time as a roadside tech nowadays but before that spent around 10 years working on cars in workshops (mainly VAG but also JLR). My hobby is working on my own car doing all these fits and running SK Retrofits to offer bits to others too. Some information can be sourced from others who have done the same bits, other retrofits that are new or haven’t been done by anyone involve countless hours of looking at wiring diagrams, parts diagrams, comparing car logs, finding parameter files, writing a plan of the process, checking if parts are compatible (sometimes by trial and error) as well as just giving it a go and finding the outcome as you go! then sometimes parts don’t exist so you have to start looking elsewhere at other cars, then if still nothing, designing and creating your own parts. Like what I’m doing with the areaview for the front camera mount and all the cabling. someone’s got to give it a go for others to give it a go themselves 😛
  13. It’s not listed as a suitable replacement so I’d doubt it
  14. You’ll need to post an adaptation map of 5F so I can see the changes you have made. also I assume you have turned the coding bit for MOST on?
  15. Certain MIB2 units can send map to the headunit no problem. The difference is MIB2.5 can show maps on both at the same time whereas MIB2 can only show maps on one screen at a time.
  16. When you say holding pressure - have you physically checked the tyre pressures across all 4 tyres and checked they are within the specification? Or have you just looked at the tyres? Does your dash tell you actual pressures? If so, what wheel is showing faulty? If it doesnt, you have indirect and this works off the rolling circumference of the complete wheel and tyre and as long as pressures are exact and been reset properly then there will be a fault with a certain corner of the car.
  17. What part did you get in the end? As the part number 566941016C is not superseeded to anything so you cant replace it with anything else. That light unit fits kodiaq up to 29/05/2017 E is for 29/05/2017-10/12/18 so it cant be fitted to your car.
  18. The original part number was 6Q0407451JX which then superseeded to 6Q0407271CE which was discontinued on 01/05/2022. The original part manufacturer was Spidan. Have the garage not thought of stripping, cleaning, regreasing and putting new boots on the original driveshaft?
  19. If it doesnt fix it, next youll need to go to the live data of the module and for each of the 6 motors We are looking at the 2 lumbar/lordosis live data, it will have something like: block, blockmax, blockmin, normed, zeroed, calibrated If you can post all the live data for them 2 motors i can help further. Also, dont discount what @langers2ksaid about a software update!
  20. Whats the registration? Ill find it.
  21. Copy the coding from original + changes to heated seats Yes it can be done with obd11 you also need to carry out flap end stop calibration after
  22. I am in north london/potters bar. I can offer these services if youre interested The electric towbar is a bit misleading as it is electrically releasing in the stow and unstow position but you still have to manually pop it up the full way. But of course, it is all possible. Virtual pedal is no issue but of course requires kessy and an electric tailgate Lane assist can be done no problem but requires the correct windscreen fitting for the A5 camera to be mounted
  23. Superb uses 569B or 569C, the 549 is for VW, it may work but i cant promise that...
  24. 549D is for the following cars - I’ve not personally used it and can’t tell you if it’s compatible. But it’s not listed for Skoda. whereas 569B (then turns to 569C) is for Skoda superb, Octavia, kodiaq my guess is D has extra clockspring pins for the cruise control buttons in the steering wheel on VW whereas Skoda has a separate stalk.
  25. Now this is exactly what I was thinking too. But.... the mirror units (that are lhd/rhd) as listed on ETKA dont come with the mirror glass, and the mirror glass itself isnt specific to LHD/RHD... so that idea went out the window
