EV Charging - Does an EV charger know the identity of the vehicle that is being charged?
An electric charge point needs to make a handshake with the car before enabling charging. This is done using a J1772 module. This module doesnt have to transmit any vehicle specific data and in fact i dont believe chargers are capable of that kind of transmission either *yet* https://www.evwest.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=107

Center dashboard Ambient light not working
The 2x plugs for this strip are located behind the glovebox. In the position circled blue on the drawing. Highly doubt they would of been touched for a mirror to be worked on. Nothing would need to be done there.

Superb Sportline or L&K 272 or 280
Welcome to the dark side! so where to start, difference in the 272 and 280 is the 272 has a 7spd I believe, 280 had the 6spd. there are some slight engine differences 2 such as 1 has 4 injectors, the other 8. (I may be wrong on the differences between the 2 engines) regarding tail pipes, the sportline doesn’t decide the chrome real tail pipes, the 272/280 is the only one with real tail pipes. The sportline and L&K non 272/280 get just chrome plastic surrounds. sportline in my opinion looks a lot better with the interior and black trim. A lot of the extras on an L&K are hard to find on a sportline when not specced new so a high spec model is hard to find! A lot of it can be retrofitted though. canton is a definite heated windscreen is also - this also means heated seats which is lovely dcc isn’t exactly much to go wrong - but shocks like to leak on them and they’re not cheap at almost £500 a corner! If possible and you’ve got the budget, set it about 24k and look for a 280 sportline (estate is my preference) and wait for a full spec with sunroof, electric tailgate and all the other good stuff to come up, it’s worth the investment.

New FL Skoda Superb 2020 tail lights - retrofit?
When you fitted the complete piece along the boot it has 4 bolt holes, Did you drill 4 holes in your boot lid to attach it to the car with nut and bolts?

Upgrade from Low to High rear Led possible?
Updated my post above, it does appear it was wrong. Yes it can be done, may possible require a few extra wires and the leuchte channels updating accordingly but yeah its not a terrible job to do.

Upgrade from Low to High rear Led possible?
For a 2018 there is only 1 kind of tail light, there are no low/high versions. Only variants are right and left hand drive. I was wrong it seems. There are 2 types. 8SK and 8SP are the PR codes.

Bleed valve on 1.6tdi
Wouldnt make any difference, the coolant flow isnt changed by setting the heater to cold. New diesel engines are so thermally efficient that they struggle to overheat, coolant doesnt need to work nearly as hard to regulate the temperature - so to sort this out the engine uses a shrouded water pump, multiple coolant circuits and many electric water pumps. You need to run a set bleed routine on the car using odis which will activate all pumps, open all valves and allow the coolant to flow correctly. Failure to do it this way results in either air locks and over heating, or air locks and no heating in the cabin. They are so thermally efficient that youd struggle to overheat a tdi with it just idling. Hence when water pumps seize, people only notice it under extreme load such as hills, or towing. FYI: The coolant purge routine is called Venting the coolant system high and low pressure circuits.

Rear light coding
I mean, in my opinion it looks bloody awful and reminds me of an old car with a ground fault, not sure about where you live but in the UK that would also be illegal and an MOT fail. On the other side - you need to look at things called Leuchte channels, if you read up on these then you will be able to do this no problem, simply setting channel for whatever light to minimize and dimmwert to 0 when indicators are in their on or off phase will cause this. I still stand by it looks like an old ford fiesta with a light cluster half filled with water and shorting out the other bulbs.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Top right hand corner above the battery is the chassis ground point. Number 12 on this diagram

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Yeah, no light issues, no boot open warning, no constant latch clicking.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
So I’ve managed to find estate led boot lights for half the price of superskoda that don’t throw up errors. After trying 6 sets of them I’ve found a quality set that don’t cause the boot to throw a tantrum. Would any of you be interested in them? Could buy a bulk load and send them out in the U.K. for £20 posted and packed.

Discovering AFS headlights after installing LED bulbs
Nothing to do with anti LED at all, LED's are an amazing creation. More anti twisting the facts... Any data to back up that halogen bulbs produce more waste/are more harmful than LED? And anything for this 200-250 hours for halogen bulbs? Becuase in my old 2001 car with halogen headlamps I done about 4.5 hours a day driving, all of it with the headlights on, at that rate id of been replacing headlamps every 1.75 months. A simple look up states a halogen/tungsten bulb should last 2000 hours, not as good as LED yes, but thats not 200 hours. It simply comes down to light produced per watt of power, and LED is better. Thats not to say halogen bulbs are not good for their purpose, including cars.... Also just saying tungsten has never been shown to cause ill effects in humans whereas the most common material in LEDs gallium arsenide is toxic to many human organs. So there are positive and negative sides to both sides of the argument. Yes i still think LEDs are a million times better.

Discovering AFS headlights after installing LED bulbs
This has absolutely nothing to do with cars, a household bulb may be 2,3,4,5 hundred watts of power... this is a massive energy use for the world combined when an LED can use less than 10W of power for the same task. On a vehicle a closed circuit the amount that is drawn by a headlamp is no more than 60W, no effect on the grid and in the scheme of a vehicle, uses very little power. Nothing to do with quality of bulbs or life of the bulb - talking of which, what bulbs are only lasting 200 hours?

Discovering AFS headlights after installing LED bulbs
The issue is most people will buy £10 led bulbs off eBay and think they are perfect. and it’s near impossible to regulate what can/can’t be sold as well as mot testers can’t remove the bulb to check it is a road legal or dodgy one. also comes down to the car being homologated with xenon/halogen/led bulbs and changing that or recertifying a car/headlamp is a pain in the ass

Discovering AFS headlights after installing LED bulbs
Road legal what? if you mean led headlamps, they are legal when fitted from the factory. They are illegal in non led headlamps cause of the beam pattern that is often caused by them.

Do yourself maintenance of haldex gen5
Listen, DO NOT DRIVE IT. you have messed up somewhere, drained the diff and either filed that with haldex oil or you’ve drained the haldex via the pump as well. In which case you’ve done something big time wrong. if you drive it you risk £1000s in damages with a destroyed haldex pump, clutch and rear diff….
-
Do yourself maintenance of haldex gen5
You have drained the diff, not the haldex! don’t drive the car until the correct fluid is in the correct place

Would you take a Superb estate over Passat estate if Passat is cheaper?
In my opinion the superb looks nicer and has more room inside. but then the Passat is higher spec, personally I’d still go for the superb as I think the passat has a very boxy design and it doesn’t look nice.

Skoda Superb original 360 panorama view/camera
Yes it is possible. please note - you must have a 2Q0 radar and the grill to go with it. If you have a 3q0 radar it can’t be fitted in that grille
