try flooring it in 5th or 6th gear going uphill, watch the rev counter - if it shoots up quickly then slows down as the speed builds you are probably getting some clutch slip.

bcs powervalve do a highly recommended resonater delete - it has a wee clever bit called a helmholtz resonator which stops the drone at certain revs as mentioned above. see the vwr forums for more info

Recently changed my android phone and have a really annoying issue - the phone pairs with the vRS and works with no problem via bluetooth. the issue happens when i leave the car - switching off the ignition somehow switches on the music player on the phone in my pocket. it happened intermittantly with my last android phone, but now on nearly every occasion - any ideas how to stop it from happening? tried looking through my phone settings and haven't found anything

i'm thinking of getting one of these units for siren/lights (grill and rear window) amplifier where does this get power from? does it tap into a spare fuse in the passenger seat behind the glovebox or would it need fed directly from the fusebox in the engine bay? problem is have already piggybacked a couple of fuses to run front and rear dashcam thanks for any advice

you can set a winter tyre speed limit which bongs and shows up on maxidot when you exceed it - eg set it for 75mph and if you exceed this you will get a warning

i used the guide in the vcds sticky and posted this wee bit a while back when using obdeleven i have managed to enable high beam assist as well using the OBDeleven the tricky bit is the instruction for the 2nd part "Goto Controller 09 - long coding - change byte2 bit 0-2 to a value of 03 using the dropdown menu for models with xenons" there is no dropdown menu for this dongle and i had to click on long coding, toggle the 0/1 icon to switch from descriptive text to the coding layout,clicked across to byte 2, clicked the hex value heading, entered '03' and it ticked the relevant bit boxes the altering of activation speeds and lux sensitivities is straightforward and as described in the vcds howtos

you also need to have gps high accuracy enabled on your android phone for the google maps to work

i'd be interested in advice if you are fitting a siren - what have you bought/how did you wire it up etc i think there is a spare grommet in the octavia behind the battery that can be used to conduit into the car from the engine bay as for lights i have a unit that mounts inside the front windscreen power via the cigarette socket

i was under the impression it was DRL turning on IN sync (so flashing white and orange at the same time then both off at the same time) with the indicators is illegal, but OUT of sync is not its a quick code with obd11/vcds but unless you are in NI........

it would be if you code with obd11 or vcds to enable cornering fogs which are surprisingly useful in the dark!

i have thule aero bars attached. i think they are ~130cm wide (probably 127 metal and a few cm including the black plastic end caps) the feet can attach no issues hope this helps

i have the same issue - ferrite chokes help a bit but dab only works when stationary and strong signal! if anyone has a link to a proven quality 12v to usb adaptor that doesn't cause interference i'd be grateful!

the warning chime can be disabled via VCDS/OBDeleven - perhaps this was done by a previous owner i disabled the seatbelt warning chime on mine which was fine until the drivers seat base needed replacing under warranty because it was creaky - the mechanics couldn't work out why the seatbelt chime didn't work after they had reconnected everything.......

odd, using OBD11 when i go into 5F and then select adaptions i keep getting an error message :( anyone else experiencing this?
