  1. Did it pass its last MOT with the headlights set as they currently are?
  2. ah the good old Digital Switchover (ie the switch from PSTN to VOIP based services) which OR think will be done by 2025 , I reckon you can add at least 5 years onto that!! NB If you are registered with your telco provider as a "vulnerable customer" they are (or should be) providing a battery backup which gives around an hours worth of juice. https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-9471/
  3. That’s why I suggested delivery on the back of a lorry lol
  4. or he could have stuck it on the back of a diesel lorry........................
  5. at a Guess I would say a Skoda Octavia Mk 4 iV (rather than the one in his profile details) ;o)
  6. boot big enough to put a car in ;o)
  7. the issue with wrapping that everyone forgets is that it's a little like putting on a condom. Any imperfections in the underlying surface will show through
  8. This link any help ? https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/39449/
  9. Foot note. The additional work on in March 2021 @ 65k miles (when the water pump was changed) was rear disc replacement whilst the additional work in June 2023 @118k miles was front disc replacement
  10. oh there's nothing strange about that. Its the google analytics cookies being fed into the youtube algorithms ;o)
  11. Time of Day charging is hardly new. Think Economy 7
  12. @Rooted yup replaced because there was an AA pickup (card left in owners manual) saying "coolant housing leak, adv to drive to dealer & request replacement car from mobex system" @J.R. no I wasn't. History shows the pump was covered by warranty but there are also the non warranty entries without further details
  13. Just had the "official" service history though from Skoda rather than the erwin printout I was originally supplied. As per the title, as a general rule of thumb would the sage members expect that the cambelt have been changed when the water pump was replaced? (nb I will be going back to clarify with them)
  14. on my MY18 SE Superb Estate with a Bolero there is no switch and its disabled in the infotainment. Side bar, wonder how many have been caught out by the glasses compartment?
  15. my recent 2018 Superb3 Estate purchase is a 126,000 mile 1.4TSi ACT DSG example which in my first month or so of ownership has been flawless (apart from a minor window issues fixed with WD40 and the goold old SOS error at random intervals). Yes I'm aware of all the horror stories around the DQ200 but all I can say is I'm very happy with how mines behaving. Very smooth and unnoticeable gear changes. As for the engine again it suits me. Some people say you need to thrash them around town but not something I've noticed. And if you want to take fuel consumption as an indicator then my personal long term average (I reset when I bought) is about 5 mpg better than when I collected her. Majority of that has been using ACC and yes I am the sort of person that also uses ACC in 30 mph zones dricving locally ;o) Actually the last little run (mostly M6 ) I changed the ACC into Eco Mode, quite happy with that bump
  16. It's only locked in until such time as the goalposts are moved again. Originally it was "locked in" for 2030 ;o) Meanwhile I wonder whether or not we are even on course for the 2024 target? https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-sets-out-path-to-zero-emission-vehicles-by-2035
  17. Unless you have an Untethered style base unit and you keep the cable in the boot|garage|house
  18. "Eco" Tyres, generally harder compounds for lower rolling resistance. In my experience that also leads to increased noise howver YMMV. What annoys one person may not bother the next
  19. Tyre choice could be a huge influence. I find the Superb quite quiet on the motorway (other than some wind noise especially around the front passenger door.
  20. (yes I know its an old thread but......) Something Ive noticed with my Superb is that both with DM & DAB the signal drops out much sooner than it did on my old Ceed. I have the same USB adaptor I had in that and need to fit the Nextbase dashcam, but thats to come. I was wondering if I could try using something like this (for DAB reception) in the windscreen (I dont have the heated option) as I used in an L200 previously Question is which of these connectors on the back is for the DAB aerial (image "borrowed" from a fleabay listing for a 2018 head unit). My suspicion is its either the pink or yellow FAKRA style connector
  21. some (mainly older) houses only have an 80Amp main fuse on the inbound
  22. realistically given that these days all they need is the VIN (available through the windscreen) to order a dealer key through dubious sources then you may as well leave your car unlocked with the key left inside!!!
  23. As I understand it: A "tethered" charger has the cable connected to the base unit permanently. An "untethered" charger the charging cable can be detached from the base unit. NB In both cases the "charger" is actually in the car with the base unit containing mainly protction devices & relays AFAIK there's no reason (other than regulation) why any competent person couldn't install a Base Unit themselves providing the cable run from the distribution box is correctly rated for the continuous current draw ( I believe that 6MM SWA is more than suitable) and the correct protection device (see link) fitted at the distribution box. You may also want to run in a Cat5 or Cat 6 Data cable at the same time especially if the Base Unit is not WiFi enabled. Regarding communications , most Base Units have some form of Smart Reporting/Control often CLoud Based although some may only need to communicate with a local hub(bit like a Hive unit for your heating)
  24. Well it did feel underplayed in that specific YT video……….
