  1. You're misunderstanding the feature - for mirror dip to work the mirror switch MUST be in the position pointing to the passenger side and only the passenger side mirror will dip (to help you see the kerb). As others have said if you don't have the memory option the mirror will dip but when returning will in most cases NOT return to the same position - this is why I tried this feature and then disabled it as adjusting the mirror most times after selecting reverse was a PITA!
  2. Did you have the mirror switch on the drivers door set to the passenger side mirror?
  3. Duplicate thread - see https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/490076-smart-link-enable/?tab=comments#comment-5503477
  4. The 'key' is a software code that has to be entered into the infotainment unit, not a physical key.
  5. The official maximum height is 100mm on public roads, but some councils are 'not too careful' and have speed bumps in excess of that - plus in private car parks etc. there is no maximum height limit.
  6. Since the aerial has already been replaced it sounds like the GPS receiver in the Columbus is faulty, I would be pressuring the dealer to replace the glove box unit (which is the 'guts' of the Columbus - the screen is just a screen).
  7. No Skoda UK" = Skoda UK, the importer. Dealers, like Marshalls, should follow the recommendations of the importer - but some choose to regularly try to up-sell.
  8. Haynes have recently said that with sales of printed manuals collapsing all future manuals will be digital only. Haynes to cease publishing new Workshop Manuals
  9. When my cars are out of warranty I always take them to a local VAG specialist or independent - no need to pay dealer prices!
  10. First comment is that they are mounted so low that using them would only be legal in fog to use at other times they need to be at least 500mm high- not what you want I'm guessing? IMHO rectangular lights would look better.
  11. Take a look here
  12. Not sure I'd be 100% sure about that branding...
  13. Where did you get the new thermostat from? Is it a genuine part or a pattern part?
  14. Only Skoda UK recommend such an early change of the cambelt, no other Skoda importer nor the Skoda factory (nor VAG as the engines are used in most VAG marques) recommend a change so early - some VAG documentation even suggests that they are "lifetime"? It's been asked on here many times what makes the UK such a bad environment for cambelts? The conclusion, so far, has been it's Skoda UK doing some covering of their rear end
  15. The 2.0L petrol has a timing chain but the 1.0, 1.4 & 1.5 petrols have a timing belt.
  16. If it's got navigation then it can't be a Bolero! Can't help on the camera, not done the retrofit myself.
  17. That looks like a MIB2 Amundsen to me. To update the maps (which MUST be saved on a genuine Skoda SD card - if you use the one you have then save the contents on your PC first as a backup) then visit the Skoda Portal here then enter your VIN and it will show you the latest available maps to download. Once downloaded follow the instructions to uncompress them then copy all the uncompressed files onto the SD card AFTER clearing it first (I use fast format as that's quicker than deleting all the files).
  18. Drive mode needs an FEC (Feature Enable Code) - if you told the supplier of your hacked unit that you have Drive Mode they SHOULD have activated it. Sounds like whoever hacked your new unit didn't do a thorough job.
  19. Those values are so close to the original that the change isn't worth being concerned about - so as langers2k has said just add 1 to the serial number and you're done.
  20. With a unit hacked to remove CP this error will always be present.
  21. No you don't need to disconnect the battery - it's better if you don't as changing the battery state of charge will disrupt the cars battery management system view of the battery state and possibly upset start/stop and load shedding. Just connect the charger to the battery positive terminal and the tag on the chassis where the battery connects to (NOT the battery negative terminal).
  22. No worries, glad it's working again
  23. See my reply to your other thread on this subject - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/489909-key-fob/?tab=comments#comment-5501528
  24. Then either you have a duff battery or the battery hasn't been properly inserted. Where did you get the battery from? The key fobs are incredibly sensitive to whether the battery is fresh and from a well known manufacturer - Duracell et all. I would get a fresh battery made by a good manufacturer with a good long expiry date and try again - no I'm not kidding!
  25. MIB1 Amundsen maps on both the Skoda portal and the VW infotainment website haven't been updated since the version in June last year (even though the VW website claims it was updated in November 2020 this isn't true - it's the same maps, I've done a byte by byte comparison of all 6GB). Strangely the Skoda Portal claims those maps are 2020/22 - which is either a typo or a hint that there won't be any MIB1 Amundsen map updates until December 2021 or later?
