  1. In the MIB have you tried the menu option to reset lighting values? This makes the MIB software re-read the user values.
  2. Here's one example, it retains your MIB1 screen and glovebox unit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166374517023
  3. Don't know if they're still available but there used to be sold an extra electronic box that fitted behind the screen to add both AA and CarPlay to a MIB1 unit, try Goggle to see if they're still available?
  4. First save the entire contents of the SD card onto your PC, then you have a backup. Then as the guide says format the SD card (this is much quicker than deleting all files when you use quick format). Then having unzipped the downloaded maps on your PC copy all the unzipped files to the SD card. I've done this twice a year for the last 8 years with no problems. The Amundsen will only read maps off a genuine VAG (Skoda) SD card and formatting does not destroy the embedded information that identifies it as a genuine SD card.
  5. The map supplier has changed and the maps are in a different format, so the files on a recent SD card will not be suitable for your 2010 Columbus. VAG have a policy of discontinuing map updates 5 years after the unit was last used in production, which is very frustrating.
  6. Some manufacturers, including Skoda, are moving to a business model where you don't buy the car from a dealer but actually from the manufacturer so a private individual cannot negotiate the price. I believe this will lead to an increase in the use of brokers, who can negotiate directly with the manufacturer.
  7. To pass Type Approval they are allowed to over read by as much as 10%, but most manufacturers calibrate them to read between 5% and 7% over to allow some margin for different tyre options and worn tyres. That is also what I've seen comparing the speedo and GPS on all the cars I've owned in the last 20 years.
  8. You need to upload them to a video sharing site and post links here.
  9. I think that may only be true of a FL, my 2016 PFL L&K has an Amundsen.
  10. Thr things stand out on that scan: 1) There is no 20 or A5 module, so you don't have any forward facing camera. 2) If you had auto wipers then under module 09 there would be a Rain/Light Recognition Sensor but there isn't - but there is a Humifity Sensor G355. 3) Your 5F module has corrupted memory and reports a very strange component name of MU-E--ER. So the module you have fitted is an interior humidity sensor and not a rain/light sensor. This why you have no Wipers section in your Car settings.
  11. Then you need to update your profile information as it says you have a 2006 Fabia.
  12. And you've demonstrated an inability to consider that regulations don't cover every aspect of using a vehicle, and an inability to think about the effect on handling of different weight wheels on the same axle. You're blocked too for your seemingly arrogant and inflexible attitude.
  13. Please post the VCDS scan data.
  14. Try Googling mixing tyres on the same axle... you find lots of hits, this quote is from Protyre
  15. GRU is the colour code for Urban Grey.
  16. It's not a regulation thing, just something that two very experienced former racing drivers (F1 & Group C sports cars) who became ride & handling experts for a well known sports car manufacturer said to everyone prepared to listen to drivers with their level of skill.
  17. Ross-Tech are negotiating with VAG to add SFD unlock into VCDS, they've jumped through all the hoops and paid VAG a princely sum so now it's down to VAG's glacially slow procedures to make it happen. You don't need to keep power applied when changing the 12V battery on an ICE version (can't comment on iV versions), the errors that will appear when the new battery is applied will clear after a short drive. If the thought of errors appearing upsets you then by all means use one the easily available backup leads.
  18. Maybe the firmware update has scrambled the FEC code that unlocks AndroidAuto? Was AA unlocked by a dealer applying the correct unlock code, or by someone else doing a 'hack'? If a hack then it's possible the firmware update has caused the hack to be lost - which is why I haven't updated my MIB2 as I had CarPlay unlocked by the 'hack' method.
  19. Tried a different USB cable? Some are power only.
  20. If you can find the car data sticker and use an online decoder that will confirm whether or not they are fitted to your car.
  21. When you fit the spare wheel there will be mismatched wheels (one alloy and one steel) on that axle, this is why it has a 50mph sticker - it's not the tyre that's the issue it's that it's not the same as the tyre/wheel on the other end of that axle which will make the handling less predictable.
  22. You can't add maps to an infotainment that doesn't have the software and hardware (GPS antenna), you probably have a Swing.
  23. Are deadlocking and alarm fitted to your car, not all markets have them as standard.
  24. Do you have a NAV button? If you do then I "think" that's a MIB2 Amundsen? An Amundsen needs the correct maps on a Skoda/VW SD card (NOT a normal SD card) which is inserted all the time. You can add a reversing camera, there are two versions - a basic one which just shows the view when reversing and a high spec one which shows trajectory lines and comes with a CAN bus connected module.
  25. .. even on the FWD versions.
