  1. This is the way things will go long term, especially with the (often delayed) plan to turn off FM radio completely and only have DAB and DAB+ transmissions.
  2. They have different engine ECUs, so coding, adaptation and measurement blocks aren't going to be the same. Hopefully someone with a Mk3 vRS will chime in with the correct channel to log.
  3. PetrolDave replied to Kod's topic in Hellos and Goodbyes
What engine? Depending on the engine the cost can be anything upwards from £500.
  4. There's a pad wear sensor on the front brake pad.
  5. Without a fault code scan to understand what is causing all those warning lights all we can do is a blind guess in the dark. Get someone with e.g. VCDS or OBDeleven to scan your cars and post the results here. List of VCDS owners on Briskoda
  6. Many of the card sold in online auction sites do not have the latest maps installed, so what you're downloading is the latest maps - which can be installed on an existing Skoda SD card after removing the older maps on it (either by deleting the files or quick formatting the card).
  7. Multimeter on battery terminals is the best way. "Battery starting to be sluggish" on a 2015? Is this the original factory battery, if it is then it's due to be replaced IMHO.
  8. ... and what are they doing to restore RDS-TMC to their customers?
  9. Many of the systems now have their own independent Sport mode - DSG being one of them, but AFAIK that's not linked to DCC mode?
  10. Physical size, flow rate, diameter of pipes, position of differential sensor ports, ....
  11. Taken in Clanger Woods near Trowbridge on Saturday
  12. Either SD card slot can be used for maps or music on an Amundsen unit.
  13. For me the other way round - SD Card 1 for music and SD Card 2 for maps. The truth is that it makes no difference.
  14. That would leave MIB1, MIB2 and MIB2.5 owners without traffic data on the inbuilt sat nav, not only is this unexpected loss of a service without prior notification to all owners but is also an environmental issue as that means we could end up in traffic jams causing extra pollution that could have been avoided if TMC was still available.
  15. They are not colour temperature changeable bulbs, only way is to change the bulbs.
  16. VCDS is a diagnostic tool, it can only enable what Skoda have written into the firmware.
  17. They played the obsolescence card on the MIB1 units when new maps stopped being uploaded 5 years after they were no longer used in production, so they have a history of obsolescence. Since INRIX say they are still broadcasting the TMC data it would be interesting to see the TMC related adaptation channels in a MIB2 unit and compare them to the equivalent ones in a unit that is still receiving TMC data, here's the onkly onw I can see in my MIB2 Amundsen: "IDE05111-Fee-based traffic information (TMC)" is set to 1023
  18. Don't the EA888 Gen3 1.8 and 2.0 TSI engines used in the Octavia 3 have both direct and indirect injection? This provides fuel in the inlet manifold which will 'wash' the inlet valves.
  19. If you have an Amundsen then it won't as the Amundsen maps MUST be on a genuine Skoda SD card to be recognised.
  20. I think mine is the oldest car on the new estate where I live as it's a 16 reg, seems most people here have a mortgage and a newish car as most are no older than 21 reg.
  21. There are genuine Skoda SD cards available that are 32GB and will hold the latest 2024 maps, I got mine off eBay - but check it really is 32GB (one seller misdescribed as 32GB but was actually 16GB).
  22. What that plate tells you is that 98RON is recommended but if you can't get it then 95RON is OK - check what the plate on your fuel filler flap says.
  23. The key line is that second one, 3335kg in this example, that's the 'gross Train Weight' i.e. maximum weight of vehicle and trailer.
  24. Downloaded the AS version and installed on 32GB SD card, all working great. Shame the map of the new estate I live on is still about 2 years out of date!!!
  25. You have to use the one that matches the infotainment system you have as they are not interchangeable.
