  1. Now I have a few hundred miles on them, I can say I’m really happy with the Conti All Season tyres I had fitted before Christmas. Grip in the wet and dry are excellent but the biggest improvement over the P7’s is the reduction in the tyre roar noise in the cabin; I estimate it’s down by 70%. Also I haven’t really noticed a reduction in MPG either.
  2. Just being beaky really… where are these used?
  3. I gave ours a tiny squirt with some dry silicone spray and that solved the issue of the NS catch not fully popping out and that, in turn, solved the problem of it not fully closing.
  4. Yeah… that’s exactly the reason they’d make such an expensive, confusing and completely unpublicised change….
  5. I have this unit and I can vouch that the lag is removed, even when it’s set to normal.
  6. Any idea when this was implemented, AS?
  7. Still doubt a DSG temp change would cause the temp gauge to indicate it. @LingT what directly DSG related symptoms do you have, which indicate you have a DSG issue and not an issue with the engine coolant?
  8. >40%. We had a 1991 Fiat Tipo which had this issue and Autowindscreens rebonded the screen.
  9. Yeah, I think that’s what I used to do.
  10. If the engine temp is going up and down, what makes you suspect it’s the DSG thermostat that needs to be replaced?
  11. Have the same issue with the ones I fitted in the boot….. but I’m only get the boot open warning and bongs when the glovebox is opened! 😁
  12. Interesting AS; what’s the cost of the bits?
  13. Gawd how I’d love one of those at 04.30 this morning when I’m up ‘n’ out!
  14. Dunno. Hopefully this bumpy might elicit a response or two from those in the know!
  15. The cheap L&K badging went in the first few days I had the car... and the rest followed a few minutes later!
  16. What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. Where’s the next closest dealer?
  17. Yeah,, sorry, off a switched live. Here is a the step-by-step guide I used. Position of fuses may not be the same but these are the fundamentals.
  18. Hard wire it to the fuse box. It’s not hard.
  19. So where is the BS when the tech told me that is was not possible to change or reset the shift patterns on a DSG box? Ahhh right, I see. So its actually like an automatic gearbox, responding to the demands of the throttle position and it is not actually a sentient being is it, “knowing the road it’s is travelling on”, so it does not ”learn” anything at all. Phew… I’m pleased we cleared that one up as I thought the 280 would suddenly decide to drive all the way to Aldi in 1st….for a laugh.
  20. Is there any way to adjust the shift patterns? Also, how can it “learn” driving characteristics when the requirements of the road conditions dictate driving characteristics?
  21. Well, OK, brighter in longer distance would be great. It’s all irrelevant anyway, as VOSA almost certainly won’t approve them.
  22. Obviously Xenons have those. I’d be disappointed if there wasn’t a true performance upgrade too, in terms of additional light on the road.
  23. I’ve had sunroofs fitted at build in the past and would never have one again. They’re a PITA to keep the drains clear and never used them once AC became the norm.
