2019 Skoda Superb Key
No, as I just wanted the outer case, but I recalled they had the versions with the transponders fitted.

Passenger side wing mirror not auto dimming.
In reality, the OE supplier might be charging these to VW at €25 a side. So x that by ‘000s of vehicles and you get why they’ve deleted the passenger side autodim unit.

Auto handbrake release problem
Needs to be coded to the car perhaps?

Passenger side wing mirror not auto dimming.
Given the mirror glass alone is £300-odd quid (you might get one from a breakers of course) I couldn’t justify it, but I know how annoying it must be.

Insurance
Wow, that’s an amazing price and about what I paid in 2020. Can I ask where you live? I ask ‘cos in our case, there’s absolutely NO chance of getting anything like that with Aviva here in London. We’re a bit younger than both you, both on the policy with 5k annually and parked on the drive. Aviva quoted £926 last year with a compulsory £500 excess! The cheapest I’ve found in the last two years has been the site sponsor Chris Knott. It was £360 in ‘23 and £410 last year with protected NC and a £370 excess in both cases. I shop around every year and the market prices went insane from ‘22 when people began driving again in big numbers and it is still hardening. 🙄

Blimey, that was a £750 option in 2016!

Dtuk Vs dte pedal box.
No, nothing.

Clutch pedal not returning when pressed.
The fluid level won’t necessarily drop if there’s air in the system. Just get it back to the “garage” ASAP - they should’ve just told you to do that. Oddly, it’s not going to become sentient and resolve itself.

Did you only just find the tow bar, Lee?

This website is now rubbish...
Interesting. I’m an old fart and the nav is exactly the same as it used to be which, like almost every other one, is pretty poor. To find something specific, I always use the Google site search EG site:briskoda.net now stick your search term in This generally gives the best results. Still if you’re set on leaving, seeya.

How to tell if used Superb has active lane guidance
Adaptive cruise is an excellent innovation, but as for the other add-ons that technology has brought, such as lane assist and traffic jam assist, they’re now always off.

Dtuk Vs dte pedal box.
I have a Racechip unit; it’s excellent. No more dead spot. The latest version can be controlled via their app too.

Party lights on dash
That’s really good news. My 2016 MOL battery failed in October 23. I think my short commute takes a toll on a battery.

Party lights on dash
Yep, looks that way…🙄

Paint Correction and Ceramic. Less than 1 year old.
Looks really great. On a completely different subject, Lee, what sort of garage is the Superb parked in?

Anyone running on CrossClimate 2 225/50R18 MICHELIN CROSSCLIMATE 2 SUV ?
I know, it’s a different car and a 4x4, but I put Conti All Seasons on the Superb in December’22. Absolutely brilliant tyres and especially so in the small amount of snow with had in Jan 23 and outstanding in the much heavier stuff in Ireland that Feb. Quite amazing how much difference there was in the handling. And they’re soooo quiet compared to the original OE Pirelli P7’s they replaced (35k and on 3.5mm). The Contis have now covered 16k and they’re down to 5mm, so I should get 25-30k from them which I’d be really happy with given their softer compound. I’ll never go back to standard tyres again. I also put them on SWMBO’s Focus last year.

Windscreen scratches
Yeah.. of course a replacement screen is the only answer! I used cerium oxide on a small (25mm) medium pad, attached to the small battery DA I have, and that made short work of the end of travel crap on the drivers side blade, which caused terrible squeaking and thud as the blade stuck (literally nothing else worked) and it removed minor stone scratches on the blade arcs too. Oh and if you leave the oxide to dry in the container you use to mix it in, it’ll dry and it can be reused again.
