What does the port do in my 2007 Fabia MK1 glovebox?
Posting a picture will help as the MK1 Fabia didn't have any kind of USB input as standard. The only thing that I think could look remotely like a USB in the glovebox is a key slot to deactivate the passenger airbag, if it had that option fitted.

Xenon / HID retrofit Pre Facelift questions
They look different to the London colour kit I fitted to my old Octavia, but that was 10 years ago now. Fitting any used xenon headlights for a MK2 Octavia these days means the chances of the reflector bowl being burnt out are quite high. Even the youngest of the prefacelift cars are now 14 years old. If you can deal with the faff, the best option would be to fit an entirely new set of projectors while you're doing it. If you're then going to the effort of fitting a new projector into the headlight, you'd be better off with an LED projector. It will be brighter than the xenon equivalent. To be fully legal you'd still need to fit the self levelling function, which is still available from Kufatec. https://www.kufatec.com/en/skoda/octavia/octavia-1z/cable-set-automatic-headlight-range-control-for-skoda-octavia-1z-36895

Dim Xenon Headlights
So long as they still auto level, have the right beam pattern and have the washers fitted they should pass and MOT just fine.

Superb headlight bulbs
What trim level is your car and are you sure you've got halogen dipped beams? Elegance trim cars had bi-xenon fitted as standard, and the set of bulbs required are different to the lower trims with halogens.

Those look great Dave

Greetings!
They are definitely the headlights that turn. My superb also has the same feature, and they clearly turn with the wheel, maybe only when you're on the move, never tried it when stationary.

Greetings!
Even better then the cornering fog lights, I was referring to your main headlights. You appear to have the "curve projector headlights" where the actual headlight projector swivels with your steering to point slightly round corners. Skoda only fitted them to the very early level 3 Roomster.
-
Greetings!
Welcome to the forum. That sounds like pretty decent roadtrip and looks like a decent motor. Looks like you have one of the rare early cars with the cornering projector headlights that Skoda fitted as standard to the Roomster only for a very short time just as they were launched. 175,000 is nothing for the PD engines, probably one of the most bullet proof and over engineered engines that VAG ever produced.

Can't Lock the Boot!
Does pressing the trunk open button with the car unlocked not release it?

Getting reg no from VIN
Do any of you know of a free service that I can get the current reg of a car from the vin? Just being nosey to see if my old Octavia is still going strong, but it looks like it's been transferred onto a private plate since I sold it. I know that I could pay for an HPI check based on the VIN but seems a bit of a waste of money just to get the reg no and stick it in the MOT history checker.

MK1 Octavia Laurin Klement wheels value?
Personally I would stick with the OEM wheels, they really suit the car IMO.

Erroneous warning lights infrequent pre service but now almost constant!
The only way to know for sure, is for a diagnostic scan. A member with VCDS should be able to help you, there is a thread with a members map somewhere, I'll try to find a link. All of those lights (apart from the bulb warning) are related to ABS sensor, so could be a sensor, wiring, ABS pump etc. Get it scanned, and it will help you pinpoint what's at fault.
-
DSG strange behaviour
My 2005 DSG Octavia had similar problems changing gear when one of the abs sensors was playing up. It would lurch and suddenly change, or keep a gear until the redline. I guessed that because the car uses the abs sensors for calculating the speed, it didn't know what speed it was doing so the funny speed readings messed up the calculations for the gearbox and what gear it needed etc. Sorting out the abs issues instantly sorted out the DSG, so I would start diagnosing your abs issues as a first port of call. A diagnostic scan should point to whether it's a sensor, wiring or the magnetic ring in the wheel bearings that is at fault.

ABS-sensor error, possible to swap wires to troubleshoot?
If it came back immediately without driving the car it will be the wiring. I had endless problems with the NSF on my Octavia and replacing the cable was the only solution in the end.

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
It doesn't help that Skoda used the same name for very different nav units through the generations. A 2012 Superb will have the older MFD3, also known as the RNS510 or Columbus, which there isn't a fix for.

TMC traffic events no longer being received...firmware update required?
A 2012 superb will be a MK2 with the older RNS510/Columbus navigation unit. The fix is for the newer nav units fitted to the MK3 Superb.

Fabia Mk1 with Factory Sat Nav/Maxidot
Nice one. Just extracting on from this, VN05 FZL was also a Fabia vRS, in red registered on the same day as VN05 FZJ and VN05 FZK. Looks like it is long since dead, last MOT in 2013. I wonder if that was also specced with nav.

Increase oil level and fuel consumption
What engine and model Octavia do you have, as a 54 plate is in the PD era which shouldn't have a dpf.

Skoda Fabia vRS leather seat option - brochure or documents?
Nice find that. Looks like a really tidy unmolested example. Getting really hard to find these days

AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
Looking nice and tidy. Good luck with the electric rear windows. I looked into doing it on my Fab years ago but decided it wasn't worth the hassle

modify halogen headlamps to use on FL mk2 factory xenon harness
Are your lights completed broken, or is it just the plastic lense on the front?
