  1. Have you not checked out Honest John Real MPG. These are real world figures as submitted by readers. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/skoda/karoq-2017 This is the best motoring website around. tom
  2. Can it be lubricated? Where would you squirt the WD40? tom
  3. Would be nice to know what caused that damage. Usually replacement discs are due to rust or worn down pads. tom

Thanks. for the suggestions. I have age related interface problems. varoom. Thanks, The Manual I had downloaded back in January 2018 was an earlier wrong version that didn't have the coloured routes option. I have the correct one now. One interface sorted. I still have difficulty understanding it! Karock. Can't find recent "journeys" just recent destinations. In general navigating destinations isn't an issue (I still have a problem remembering how to delete them). When I try "Routes" it shows there are none saved. It's the car/user interface that gives me the most problems. I am seriously considering getting out my old Garmin Zumo 550 (with 2007 mapping), never had a problem with that. Thanks again tom

2018 1.5 tsi dsg with Amundsen. If I set a destination and successfully drive the route is it possible to then save the route for next time. As a separate thing I thought the system remembered regular routes used. I have not quite worked out. how to utilise/access this. Any help would be much appreciated. tom
  7. Classic (meaning old fashioned) indicator for a blown head gasket is to take off the oil filler cap and see if you can see anything looking like mayonnaise inside. if you do then it's an urgent visit to the dealer. tom
  8. On my 2018 1.5 Tsi SeL the sequence using the centre screen is: Car (button)>Light>Travel Mode>then ✓ either "L-hand traffic" or "R-hand traffic". tom
  9. Not sure. It certainly does it if it senses pollutants. tom
  10. How about first activating recirculate to help getting the interior cool, then back to normal. tom
  11. I thought such bulb replacements in cars are an automatic MoT failure. tom
  12. I only get 10 miles per litre (45 mpg) with my 1.5Tsi DSG if I am on a journey, even then I have to think a bit regarding how I am driving to achieve this. I keep my aircon permanently on, summer and winter. My journey profile has changed dramatically since I changed from my diesel Yeti in late 2018. I went from nearly 20,000 miles a year to around 5,000 (thus buying a petrol). Another factor to consider is the effect aircon has on fuel consumption that of course being in hot climate is probably on its internal software more aggressive setting. tom
  13. Autocar 29 Jun 2022 did a test of an Enyaq 80 towing a Bailey Discovery 4-2. They reported an approximate 50% reduction in range. Makes you think. What is needed is for a caravan manufacturers to just build a van with batteries in the flat floor, that will sort out the range anxiety. You could then just charge the van, or the car, or both. The knock on effect would be the increase in weight which would then cause complications with the max-train weight. tom
  14. That's a new one on me! Could it be due to some sort of recall? tom
  15. Don’t understand why this post was moved. It is specific to the Karoq satnav voice. The pronunciation can be weird e.g. when needing a u-turn it says “Make a u-turn if passable” not “...if possible”. Tom
  16. I live in Suffolk and yesterday made a trip northwards into the wild Norfolk countryside. Nearing Norfolk's major town I realised that the Satnav voice had adopted a regional accent. Norwich would normally be pronounced similar to how it is written "nor-witch". However I realised the Satnav lady was saying "nar-witch". Simply clever! tom
  17. At my age I have a similar problem. tom
  18. Just checked the Manual. Never seen this "no passenger" bit with the seat(s) folded before ("Warning" on Page 37). What is interesting is that if you just remove the centre seat and then move the outer seats inward then that is not a problem, see Page 38. It says nothing about carrying a passenger with just one or two seats removed. tom

I clean my screen with white vinegar, gets rid of wax etc. tom
  20. I am doing this from memory. There is the right hand wheel that is set in what is effectively another "button". Press this background "button" and then use the wheel to scroll through the options. When you get to the option you want press the wheel to set it. tom
  21. I forked out for the (expensive) Skoda electric tow bar soon after we bought our '68 SEL. Had it fitted by my local dealer. It hasn't affected any of the electrics. I assume that "city braking" is whereto car jams on the brakes if it thinks you are going to hit something No problem in normal driving without the trailer, it still works, usually when I am reversing too close to bushes in a car park. It is certainly disabled when the car is towing something. It never occurred to me to test it when I last used the clamp on bike carrier. Logic would assume that plugging in the light bar is the "trigger" to disable the revering sensors. Being well past my "threescore......" the electric tow bar is a revelation, no more grovelling on hands and knees to fit the tow ball bit into its socket. tom
  22. Key fob batteries can fail without warning. My dealer replaces the battery in the key fob as a matter of course at each annual service. Different makes of battery last differently. General view favours Panasonic. This is not a big problem, I managed to talk my wife through the procedure over the phone. Put simply, use the key to prise off the small cover on the drivers door handle this exposes the door lock, manually open with the key (alarm may or may not sound) then press the start button with the fob. Sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to get it to work. There are posts about this, do a search. tom

It's all in the owner's manual, if you can find it! tom
