  1. +1 There is a reason why many of us have either fitted the start-stop memory module or permanently coded it out. I have the memory module myself so I can still choose to use it, when I need it.
  2. Sorry, but I have to disagree with that. If aimed correctly, the bi-xenon headlights have a good spread and throw. Have a look at the vids below, from my MY17 Superb. The factory Osram D3S xenon bulbs r good. Upgraded Phillips xTremeVision Gen2 D3S xenon bulbs r much better. Upgraded J.W.Speaker D3S LED bulbs r really great!! Vid of factory xenons.... Vid of Phillips xenons..... Vid of J.W.Speaker LEDs.....
  3. U can stop it from doing that permanently by disabling "Overtaking Right Prevention" using OBDEleven or VCDS.
  4. It most definitely will NOT brake!! Trust me, I know, whilst doing 80 km/h towards a car already stopped at the lights!! ACC relies on a moving reference target (in the same direction and lane as u r travelling in) to determine if it needs to slow down. A stationary object (car stopped at the traffic lights) will NOT tell the ACC on ur car to slow down gracefully. Instead it will scream "BRAKE!" at u, and then hit the stationary car/object that was stopped at the lights....if u don't react on time jumping on ur brakes!! Manoeuvre Assist (available from MY18 onwards) will actually stop u from hitting something, but only works at below a certain speed, i.e. parking speeds. It won't stop u when travelling at normal speeds on the roads.
  5. any pics of the said place? i strongly believe my brakes need this treatment.....
  6. I used to have VCDS at first. Used it for a couple of years, but sold it as I only had 3 car user license and wanted to help others with coding, but couldn't. 5 yrs ago I switched to OBDEleven Pro, with lifetime warranty. No yearly subscription. Being using it since then. I only do long coding or adaptations, no one touch apps. I can do the same things using OBDEleven that I could with VCDS. Very happy with it and no regrets. The one thing I miss from VCDS is that the CSV extracts of the admaps and blockmaps are much much better and easier to deal with. The OBDEleven extracts r hard to work with.
  7. Mk4 Superb is MQB EVO. Hence 5D is not applicable to mk3 Superb. Mk3 Superb (pre-facelift or facelift) is MQB (1st Gen). No point trying to fit a VC from a Mk4 Superb into a Mk3 Superb!
  8. 5C is the latest anti-theft system. 5A is the old anti-theft system. 2015 to 2019 use the 5A anti-theft cockpit. 2015 to 2017 r MIB2 units, but can't connect to VC. 2018 to 2019 r MIB2.5 units. These can connect to VC with fiber optic. Superb produced after 2020 is classified 5C anti-theft. 5C is Ethernet based. Facelift uses MIB3 units. If the anti-theft system and the cockpit do not match - it won't work.
  9. as per the earlier pages in this TPMS discussion topic - yes, tyre pressure for each tyre can b viewed on the infotainment screen as well as the dashboard screen (VC or analog). if u follow the coding and adaptation instructions correctly, u'll b good. u don't need VCP or ODIS for this part. u can use either VCDS or OBDEleven. with regards to swapping screens, i don't know about the MIB3 units. with pre-facelift Superb, it requires the MIB2 unit firmware to be updated to MIB2.5 firmware, during which the 8" screen is swapped out for the 9.2" screen. there was no need of coding the screen in this instance.
  10. That's wat happens when u switch from pre-facelt to facelift, keeping the same bonnet, but changing the bumper, grille and headlights. Ur going to get some slight variances.
  11. Yes, I had indirect TPMS before, which uses the ABS wheel sensors to detect rotational speed of each wheel, then compares it to detect any differences, which would indicate a loss in pressure. My version of indirect TPMS would tell me which specific tyre is the issue. See image below. With the generator, yes, u can setup different sets of tyre sizes and select in the infotainment screen the appropriate set, based on what u have on the car. The generator creates a parameter file which can only b uploaded via VCP or ODIS. VCDS or OBDEleven cannot do this. Indirect TPMS.....
  12. unfortunately that i do not know. in theory, yes, it should work with the Karoq. however the coding and adaptations will b different. that is assuming the Karoq's Gateway has a Tire Pressure channel that can b enabled so it can communicate to the TPMS module via the CANBUS.
  13. Can't do that unfortunately as u'll still need the Gateway module to be updated (via VCP or ODIS) to enable the car to handle/understand the 15 DCC profiles.
  14. L&K normally come with DCC as standard. Sportline, if fitted with DCC, uses the same DCC shocks, same algorithm. Just different Sportline springs. Hence Sportline with DCC will also benefit from the DCC Mod. The DCC Mod is only possible on factory DCC modules. They r not applicable to the Bilstein Active Dampers. Bilstein Active dampers can only control compression, unlike the DCC shocks which can control both compression and rebound. In addition, if u have DCC, i do not recommend replacing/deleting it with aftermarket shocks as u'll end up affect steering, headlights & ABS because they're all interlinked. The ideal setup is DCC Shocks, Eibach Pro-kit springs, rear swaybar and DCC Mod, with a DCC Recalibration procedure at the end - ur set up for a comfortable and controlled ride....even on 19" wheels.
  15. Same hardware (shocks, springs & module) between Superb, Passat and Arteon. Wat differs is the DCC shocks software (algorithm) on the DCC Module, used between the various cars. Hence the "DCC Mod" that a number of us have done. The DCC Mod loads the DCC suspension algorithm parameter file from the Arteon/Passat to the Superb's DCC module. It fixed the Superb's suspension and ride - 100%. This mod requires a Gateway update, DCC parameter file and a DCC Recalibration.
  16. That isn't normal. Would b very surprised if it left factory like that as that will not pass QA checks.
  17. If ur referring to ALOY0018K, then sadly that's the wrong one for the mk3 Superb, despite some websites saying it's compatible with the Superb 2012 to 2019. That's covering both the MK2 (3T) and MK3 (3V) Superb series!!! Really SuperPro website!?!?! Both r completely different platforms!! It's right for the mk7 Golf, but short for the Superb. I know of 2 or 3 Superb owners who tried to fit the Superpro alloy LCA, only to find it not the right fit. I wouldn't recommend buying the Superpro ones.
  18. @DrAvalanche - not sure if u were asking me that question, but in any case - no idea. I was just confirming that the Superb shares the same LCA as the Passat & Arteon. I've read many posts where Superb owners have installed the LCA for a mk7 Golf thinking it's the same, cause same sub-frame, but ended tracking wrong, and the wheels sitting more inward. I myself would've like to get the aluminium alloy subframe, as well as aluminium LCA for a Passat/Arteon....one day.
  19. Good to hear its fixed and all good now 🙂
  20. Turns out the Superb mk3, Passat B8 and Arteon 3H7 all share the same LCA.
  21. +1 sub-frame is same same. lower control arms (LCA) for the Golf is short, i.e. not wide enough, for the Superb. i don't know if the Arteon, or even Passat B8, have the same LCA as the Superb, or use the Golf version.
  22. That looks like the ambient lighting connector.
  23. I have a 220, MY17 with the CHHB EA888 Gen 3 engine. It's been serviced by Skoda with Castrol Edge 5w-30 since day 1, for the first 5 yrs of it's life. Since then, out of warranty, it's been serviced at a Euro specialist with Mobile Super 3000 5w-30. Both oils r VW504/507 approved. 8 yrs plus now on 5w-30 for Gandalf. It has been tuned for more that half its life. I'm pretty sure it's the same oil used with the 280 pre-facelift Superb.
  24. Battery coding as follows. Avoid using the One Click apps.
  25. No difference between Estate and Saloon when it comes to the front bumper. On the other hand, there is big difference with the rear bumper.
