  1. my Superb MY17 hatch has full covers on both sides. the left side has a canton sub-woofer sitting in there. the right side has a big storage area where i keep all the boot nets, first aid kit and a toolkit.
  2. have u tried reading the manual, or google?
  3. Being new pads & discs, the bite is slightly better, as expected, but otherwise feels like OEM+ It's only been 2 weeks, but no signs of brake dust yet.
  4. It depends where u live and how u drive. My previous car, mk2 Octavia RS, the factory pads & discs lasted 86k kms before I had to change them. My Superb's factory rear brakes outlasted the front brakes - they still had 5.5mm left after 90k kms, whilst the front was down to 2mm. Both r still in good condition, no rust at all, or falling apart. Because of the low fronts, I changed both front and rear with DBA pads & discs.
  5. battery life nowadays is 3-4 yrs, sadly, especially the start-stop batteries. electric gremlins start showing up and u get weird stuff happening. given urs is 2020 with factory original battery - sounds like it. however i've not come across the "static fault of NV energy management alarm" that ur experiencing. is urs an iV?
  6. Personally I prefer OBDEleven over VCDS. I used VCDS before I got my OBDEleven a couple of years ago. VCDS is lot more expensive, requires a laptop with software and cable, or u can buy the even more expensive wireless version (laptop/mobile + adaptor), it is limited to 3 cars, or u can pay a lot more for 10 or unlimited cars. U can scan all modules, view (in detail) and clear codes, one module at a time. OBDEleven is cheaper, and requires a mobile phone + wireless adaptor. It doesn't have a limit on how many cars u can connect. U can scan all modules, view (in detail) and clear codes. I have the Pro Lifetime version. Since then they have changed it to b a yearly payment. I never use the One Click Apps (which requires credits) as u have no idea wat changes r made the scenes, and can mess things badly if u end up with unwanted side effects. However in terms of exporting adaptation maps (admaps), I prefer VCDS outputs as it's way more readable and easier to find stuff.
  7. Agreed, prices r ridon-culous of new cars now!! Can't get the performance, value and practicality of a Superb for the price I paid many years ago. Gandalf has now ticked over 7 yrs.....and I don't have any plans to replace it any time so soon 😁
  8. Mudflaps between pre-facelift and facelift "should" b the same as the body panels down there haven't changed. But then again, manufacturers like to play games n change things up to mess with us.
  9. 90k kms later, Gandalf's factory brakes were starting to run low, so I decided to change all 4 corners for DBA Rotors and Pads. Front - DBA2806S slotted rotors + DB2384SP Performance pads. Rear - DBA2837E plain rotors + DB2384SS pads.
  10. Gandalf got new brake pads & rotors fitted today....after 90k kms, the factory original brakes, front specifically, were getting low. Rears still had another 5.5mm left. Decided to change all 4 corners for DBA Rotors and Pads. Front - DBA2806S slotted rotors + DB2384SP Performance pads. Rear - DBA2837E plain rotors + DB2384SS pads.
  11. @Tankdave - those look nice, especially in Bronze. Wat size specs r the rims?
  12. @Macsamillion - I replaced the endlinks, front & rear, with Whiteline adjustable ones. I'm also on Eibach Pro-kit springs, with the stock DCC shocks. Front:- Rear:-
  13. Yeah, should b possible to do the cut without removing the trim piece.
  14. Thanks. Please make sure u don't put different sized tyres between the front and rear!! All 4 must b the same.
  15. @BennyGil - many many Superb owners with the 19" rims have gone up from the factory 235/40/19 tyre size to 245/40/19 tyre size. It's more comfortable (thicker sidewall), more readily available and hence cheaper. The Speedo is also more accurate with the GPS reading. If u have DCC, 19s r just as comfortable as smaller rim sizes.
  16. Indirect TPMS will only alert u if there is a rotational difference (equating to 4 psi or more) between all 4 tyres. Indirect does not have a target tyre pressure like Direct TPMS. Hence even if all 4 tyres r at 20 psi, no warnings or alerts. If all 4 tyres r at 50 psi, no warnings. If all 4 r at 30 psi, no warnings. But if one of them is 20 psi, and the other 3 r at 30 psi, then u'll get warnings. Direct TPMS on the other hand has a target pressure, and a sensor inside each tyre to measure the actual pressure.
  17. Mudflaps r noisy. Wind deflectors r noisy. Wing mirrors r noisy. Downsides - yes, but the advantages outweigh that.
  18. Wat do u mean with and without electric power steering? Since when did our cars have the option to turn on/off the power steering?!?!?
  19. @Skodev - that looks nice, subtle and not over the top. Suits the car well.
  20. There r hook anchors at the back part of the seat base. U need to push down above the anchor, whilst doing that, pull it towards u and up to release it.
  21. i find them very useful - keeps the car ventilated when parked outside on a hot summer day without having to worry about rain. as above, i can also keep the window cracked open whilst driving, if needed.
  22. i'm currently using it with the 19" Trinity wheel - no issues, provided u use the strap to hold it down to the rim.
  23. Sorry, I don't have the part number, though @Carlston might. Mine came from factory with the 16" spare and the kit. So I simply swapped out the 16" spare with a 19" spare. The 18" spare kit from the factory comes with a different version of the kit - thinner and wider.
  24. The B8 Passat and mk3 Superb don't share the same windows. There r plenty of options for Superb weather shields, including Kopacek.
  25. all good - no need to b sorry. that's wat forums r for......to ask questions/help/opinions. with regards to the foglight surrounds, i got mine from AliExpress. they came with 3M tape pre-stuck, to stick on to the bumper. in my case, the surrounds fit perfectly to the contour of the bumper, and stuck on well. they've been on for 4+ years now and still holding strong. having said that, i've heard plenty of others who have bought the Maxton version which was not a good fit because the curvature did not match the bumper, hence making it stick was a challenge. show us pics once u have the spacers on 🙂
