  1. @Bap33 - that was the total price. i didn't have to pay any import duties or taxes. i'm in australia though, so other countries may differ.
  2. This is the one I got 9 months ago - haven't had any AQS warnings since then. Bought mine from ECS Tuning for $75 USD, delivered.
  3. Yes, same steel bodies. The Superb may have more sound deadening, depending on the market or options fitted. It's a lot quieter than my previous mk2 Octavia RS. The 220 shares the same engine as the mk3 Octavia RS, and both r FWD - however the 280/272 use the Golf R engine, and it's AWD. They use the wet DSG, not dry. Only the lower powered engines use the dry 7-DSG.
  4. The Octavia and Superb r different beasts. Don't expect the Superb to b as nimble, dynamic and agile as the Octavia RS. The Superb is more of a Tourer, with performance on tap. The Superb shares a few similar suspension components with the Octavia still, although a few other bits r shared with the Passat B8 and Arteon.
  5. Gandalf had it's 105k km Service yesterday. I just went over the 90k km mark about 2 wks ago...7 yrs later. Everything is behaving. Front brakes r down to 3mm, hence will need replacing soon. They did well lasting 7 yrs, over 90k kms. Will b replacing them with dba T2 rotors and pads. Rear brakes r still good with 5.5mm left. Tyres (Continental MaxContact 6) r down to 3mm too, front and rear. This is my second set of tyres in the 7 yrs. They've done about 45k kms so far. Will likely replace them with Continental MaxContact 7s next, towards the end of the yr.
  6. @fila_superb - thanks for the encouragement. I'm a nutcase when it comes to Gandalf, but I've tried to b as sane as possible without going over the top. 7 yrs and still enjoying every bit of it 😁
  7. I don't have a sunroof, so I can't comment on associated creaks.
  8. @E30Mark - there is a single Torx screw in the middle, which u can see the hole in the pic u shared. The rest is clips. U need to grab hold the bottom edge, and use short, forceful upward direction to separate the trim piece. However looking at ur last pic, ur trim piece looks completely different. Do u have facelift Superb? U also don't have room a tyre given all those other fittings in there.
  9. @mtl , @Bap33 - I've never seen that message in the 7 yrs I've owned the car. Mine is MY17, with KESSY. I know my battery is low when it doesn't lock/unlock when it should, or open/close boot when it should. So far I've replaced my key battery 3 times, maybe 4.... The scan clearly indicates that it "knows" the battery is low, yet there is no visible user notification. Strange.
  10. Turns out the car knows when the key fob battery is low, so why is the owner not informed via the infotainment in the Vehicle Status screen, along with other warning/errors? Or do some model years actually show it? The mk3 Octavia displays a low key battery warning message. Is there a way to enable it to show on the Superb? Below is wat shows up when a scan is done.
  11. thanks n ur welcome. i still love the factory 19" Trinity rims, but it was time for a change after almost 7 yrs - hence why i switched to the dark side!! lol
  12. I used to have hub-centric spacers before when I had the factory rims, but not anymore since I got my aftermarket rims. With the aftermarket rims the wider rim and offset combo make it sit almost the same as I had with the spacers. Before Spacers:- 12mm front, 10mm rear Rims:- Factory 19x8 ET44 Tyres:- 245/40/19 Now Spacers:- None Rims:- Rotiform 19x8.5 ET35 Tyres:- 245/40/19
  13. ...and a radar which requires a particular front grille (with radar cover). Then the associated wiring and control module.
  14. Yes, it's on all the time, however it is not clearly visible during the day time.
  15. Dynamic Chassis Control - in another words Adaptive Suspension. https://youtu.be/1f2uG_cuYC4?si=Ftf-BN7wYzUR-5V_ With DCC, u have Comfort, Normal and Sport settings. There is considerable differences between all 3 settings. If u get the DCC mod, u have 15 settings.
  16. Again, read my post on the new discussion u started!! The one u've shown here is Option #2.
  17. Simple answer - no. Read my answer in the discussion u started.
  18. Retrofitting the Facelift Superb headlights to the pre-facelift model like urs is possible, but it's a big job. Ur options r:- 1. Keep ur existing headlights, get better performance bulbs 2. Retrofit pre-facelift Bi-Xenon version headlights. This will however require new headlight units, D3S xenon bulbs, levelling sensors, AFS modules, power ballasts, light control modules, upgraded BCM, parameter files and coding. 3. Retrofit facelift Bi-Xenon version headlights. This is even more complex, but doable. In addition to the above, u will also need a completely different wiring loom, new gateway and BCM modules, facelift headlight units, facelift bumper, and possibly facelift front qtr panels. I would stick to Option 1 unless u have deep pockets.....very deep.
  19. @Tankdave - I've used the following Fuse locations for my dashcam and TPMS retrofit. #16 - Phonebox (permanent) #30 - Boot 12v socket (permanent) #47 - Rear Wiper (switched)
  20. U can use the same fitting points, however u can't use the existing Torx screws. They're too small and not wide enough. U need an Undertray Fitting Kit. It comes with:- - 10x Extra long Torx Screws with washers - 3x WHT 000 729 A - hexagon socket head bolt, self-locking,(M8x20mm)
  21. Location of the build plate...
  22. Only the TDi and Scout models got the full length front undertray. The VW All-track models also use it. It goes all the way to the sub-frame. All other models get the standard short length cover that doesn't cover the sump. I recently changed mine for the full length version. I had to get the DSG version as it requires the two cutouts to allow airflow directly onto the DSG transmission. In addition, I also got the centre exhaust tunnel cover. Mine came with all other underbody aero covers, minus 6a & 6b as the 220 has dual exhausts. Comparison:- Centre Exhaust (#2) + Full length cover (#1):- Underbody Aero options:-
  23. Assuming u have the A5 camera, this is the coding for activating on pre-facelift Superb.
  24. Ah yes, that would make sense for it to b power only! That would make the retrofit a whole lot easier then 👍
  25. I would b very surprised if u have the wiring for the USB port location on the rear view mirror. In theory, in order to add an additional USB port, that can b seen/used by the MIB infotainment unit will require a USB hub module. Hence u would need:- - a USB hub - additional USB port - USB hub wiring - USB port wiring
