  1. @Macsamillion - I replaced the endlinks, front & rear, with Whiteline adjustable ones. I'm also on Eibach Pro-kit springs, with the stock DCC shocks. Front:- Rear:-
  2. Yeah, should b possible to do the cut without removing the trim piece.
  3. Thanks. Please make sure u don't put different sized tyres between the front and rear!! All 4 must b the same.
  4. @BennyGil - many many Superb owners with the 19" rims have gone up from the factory 235/40/19 tyre size to 245/40/19 tyre size. It's more comfortable (thicker sidewall), more readily available and hence cheaper. The Speedo is also more accurate with the GPS reading. If u have DCC, 19s r just as comfortable as smaller rim sizes.
  5. Indirect TPMS will only alert u if there is a rotational difference (equating to 4 psi or more) between all 4 tyres. Indirect does not have a target tyre pressure like Direct TPMS. Hence even if all 4 tyres r at 20 psi, no warnings or alerts. If all 4 tyres r at 50 psi, no warnings. If all 4 r at 30 psi, no warnings. But if one of them is 20 psi, and the other 3 r at 30 psi, then u'll get warnings. Direct TPMS on the other hand has a target pressure, and a sensor inside each tyre to measure the actual pressure.
  6. Mudflaps r noisy. Wind deflectors r noisy. Wing mirrors r noisy. Downsides - yes, but the advantages outweigh that.
  7. Wat do u mean with and without electric power steering? Since when did our cars have the option to turn on/off the power steering?!?!?
  8. @Skodev - that looks nice, subtle and not over the top. Suits the car well.
  9. There r hook anchors at the back part of the seat base. U need to push down above the anchor, whilst doing that, pull it towards u and up to release it.
  10. i find them very useful - keeps the car ventilated when parked outside on a hot summer day without having to worry about rain. as above, i can also keep the window cracked open whilst driving, if needed.
  11. i'm currently using it with the 19" Trinity wheel - no issues, provided u use the strap to hold it down to the rim.
  12. Sorry, I don't have the part number, though @Carlston might. Mine came from factory with the 16" spare and the kit. So I simply swapped out the 16" spare with a 19" spare. The 18" spare kit from the factory comes with a different version of the kit - thinner and wider.
  13. The B8 Passat and mk3 Superb don't share the same windows. There r plenty of options for Superb weather shields, including Kopacek.
  14. all good - no need to b sorry. that's wat forums r for......to ask questions/help/opinions. with regards to the foglight surrounds, i got mine from AliExpress. they came with 3M tape pre-stuck, to stick on to the bumper. in my case, the surrounds fit perfectly to the contour of the bumper, and stuck on well. they've been on for 4+ years now and still holding strong. having said that, i've heard plenty of others who have bought the Maxton version which was not a good fit because the curvature did not match the bumper, hence making it stick was a challenge. show us pics once u have the spacers on 🙂
  15. @Bap33 - that was the total price. i didn't have to pay any import duties or taxes. i'm in australia though, so other countries may differ.
  16. This is the one I got 9 months ago - haven't had any AQS warnings since then. Bought mine from ECS Tuning for $75 USD, delivered.
  17. Yes, same steel bodies. The Superb may have more sound deadening, depending on the market or options fitted. It's a lot quieter than my previous mk2 Octavia RS. The 220 shares the same engine as the mk3 Octavia RS, and both r FWD - however the 280/272 use the Golf R engine, and it's AWD. They use the wet DSG, not dry. Only the lower powered engines use the dry 7-DSG.
  18. The Octavia and Superb r different beasts. Don't expect the Superb to b as nimble, dynamic and agile as the Octavia RS. The Superb is more of a Tourer, with performance on tap. The Superb shares a few similar suspension components with the Octavia still, although a few other bits r shared with the Passat B8 and Arteon.
  19. Gandalf had it's 105k km Service yesterday. I just went over the 90k km mark about 2 wks ago...7 yrs later. Everything is behaving. Front brakes r down to 3mm, hence will need replacing soon. They did well lasting 7 yrs, over 90k kms. Will b replacing them with dba T2 rotors and pads. Rear brakes r still good with 5.5mm left. Tyres (Continental MaxContact 6) r down to 3mm too, front and rear. This is my second set of tyres in the 7 yrs. They've done about 45k kms so far. Will likely replace them with Continental MaxContact 7s next, towards the end of the yr.
  20. @fila_superb - thanks for the encouragement. I'm a nutcase when it comes to Gandalf, but I've tried to b as sane as possible without going over the top. 7 yrs and still enjoying every bit of it 😁
  21. I don't have a sunroof, so I can't comment on associated creaks.
  22. @E30Mark - there is a single Torx screw in the middle, which u can see the hole in the pic u shared. The rest is clips. U need to grab hold the bottom edge, and use short, forceful upward direction to separate the trim piece. However looking at ur last pic, ur trim piece looks completely different. Do u have facelift Superb? U also don't have room a tyre given all those other fittings in there.
  23. @mtl , @Bap33 - I've never seen that message in the 7 yrs I've owned the car. Mine is MY17, with KESSY. I know my battery is low when it doesn't lock/unlock when it should, or open/close boot when it should. So far I've replaced my key battery 3 times, maybe 4.... The scan clearly indicates that it "knows" the battery is low, yet there is no visible user notification. Strange.
  24. Turns out the car knows when the key fob battery is low, so why is the owner not informed via the infotainment in the Vehicle Status screen, along with other warning/errors? Or do some model years actually show it? The mk3 Octavia displays a low key battery warning message. Is there a way to enable it to show on the Superb? Below is wat shows up when a scan is done.
  25. thanks n ur welcome. i still love the factory 19" Trinity rims, but it was time for a change after almost 7 yrs - hence why i switched to the dark side!! lol
