  1. I did warn you about this, now you've started breaking stuff just so you can fix it!
  2. ...or in your case another dead body and the zip ties and duct tape...
  3. Oh boy, you're in a world of hurt, the VRS gearbox is almost unique and incredibly hard to find, I think there was an even rarer Polo with that engine and gearbox combination and possibly an extinct Ibiza too but the VRS is the most common. TBH you may end up having to get yours rebuilt unless you sell the car for spares or repair.
  4. As stated just get a proper remap and you'll have PD130 power, the six speed gearbox in the VRS is a turd anyway, the five speeder is much stronger and you won't have a DMF to worry about either, chuck some VRS alloys on it and bob's your uncle.
  5. Just disconnect the MAF, if it runs better then replace it. I would say you probably have a vacuum leak since you have two codes showing that depend on good vacuum. Glowplug relay comes a distant third in importance.
  6. 1. Not too bad, but you'll need a mate to help you. 2. No it won't.
  7. Setscrew = threaded entire length Bolt = partially unthreaded Semantics.
  8. Torsion angle should be 0.0, not -1.7, it will not run as well as it could until adjusted. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16485/P0101/000257 http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17964/P1556/005462 http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/18027/P1619/005657 http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/19561/P3105/012549
  9. It looks like the bolt was a victim of ham-fisted overtightening and vibration just finished it off. Kharl needs to be resourceful because where he's from nothing gets done properly, it's the wild west.
  10. Early Mk 2 Fabias use K-line as well as CAN, 2011 on used CAN only.
  11. Last time I removed a tensioner pulley bolt to fix a noisey pulley bearing it was a left-handed thread and I used threadlock when I refitted it, that was on a Fabia 1.4 16V.
  12. Jesus Kharl, ANYTHING is better than the WRONG pulley!
  13. By far the smartest and easiest thing to do is to compound cut and polish the headlights, I do it every year before the MOT, takes ten minutes.
  14. I would stick to the service schedule like glue and I wouldn't be overthinking anything until I'd run the car through the summer.
  15. Sounds like the pulley got bent when the engine was being fitted.
  16. There were guys on here that used to mix two stroke oil with their fuel, others that added nail polish remover, honestly, you couldn't make it up!
  17. I have no idea what the labour rate is round your way, it's about an hours work plus the cost of the loom.
  18. This has completely spiralled out of control, if the car has failed on emissions there should be a readout from the gas analyser stapled to the fail sheet. Please post a picture so we can clearly see the readings.
  19. Manicat on that engine is expensive, I would expect the emissions to be way out of spec. And therefore the EPC light and CEL to be lit as well as B1 S2 O2 sensor out of range fault code.
  20. I thought this was the pre cat sensor, no?
  21. Check the torsion value. Needs to be zero.
