After replying to this topic, I drove the car with specific regard to road noise. It is really quite quiet. Certainly quiet enough to have a conversation at normal speech volume, even at motorway speeds.

no idea about other makes, but even compared to my previous 1.5 petrol, it seems quieter in the cabin. Probably down to the tyres? I had Pirelli on the old car and the new one is shod with Hankook. As they are the main contributor to road noise, I would go to a tyre website and search for the tyre and compare road noise levels.

I found that, as a test, which is why I only use it on dual carriageways and motorways. My engineering brain took over and I just wanted to explore the tech. Just can’t help it. 🤣

The ACC on my car is active right down to 0 mph and will follow the car in front at a safe distance. It will drive off automatically when the car in front moves forward, even when the engine has stopped due to start/stop, I unlike my 2020 Mk1 Kodiaq which needed a slight press on the accelerator to kick it back into life. As far as I can see, the only difference between ACC and Travel assist is the TA steers to follow curves in the road. It will do it on any road but can get caught out on minor roads. Motorways and dual carriageways it works fine.

I had mine for 4 1/2 years, a 1.5 TSI, and had no issues what so ever. Reliable, comfortable and a nice place to be. As Yogi said, I would collect it it possible. That way you can have a old look round the paint for scratches and supermarket dents. They won’t show on a video. Nothing more annoying in my book.

The only thing I don’t like about the rear camera is the location to be in the wiper sweep. It has to sit a way from the top of the screen as the top trim is at a funny angle. I’ve kind of got used to it though. Edit: I’ve been thinking about this. I think it’s possible to mount it on the trim piece at the top of the boot, right in the centre of the screen.

How Much??? Just phoned Skoda to get a price. £400!!! Mr Skoda you are having a laugh. I reckon all their parts are the same price because the intake flap motor went recently and that was £400 quid too. mind you, it comes as a complete assembly with the intake manifold. It’s a separate part so why? Rant over.

No pics I’m afraid, but it can be done reasonable easily. I ran it down the Rubber door seal down the A pillar then the same around the edge of the carpet, up the side of the rear seats and under the boot cover trim, following the same procedure up the tailgate seal. The only bit I don’t particularly like is the loop from there to the tailgate. There has to be one to avoid constant use ruining the cable. Alternatively you could get it professionally installed. IIRC, on SWMBOs car it was only about £100.

The connection plugs into the front dashcam and routes to the eprear of the car. They supply a 6 metre cable to do this

The rear camera usb comes from the camera. If you but the Duo you get both cams and everything else you need. IIRC you also get a couple of trim tools in the box too.

The Viofo camera display stays on for a minute or so then turns off. The only thing showing on the camera are two dim leds, so no distraction. BTW I have the A129 duo and it works fine with the usb.

Same here but not had the non starting yet. Did the turn it off and on again thing a couple of times to no avail but it resolved after driving a short distance. Hoping this isn’t going to be a regular issue. ??

A bit odd, but the reason is that I use hand controls. The accelerator uses a ring under the steering wheel that goes all the way round. I keep catching the up paddle with my finger when accelerating, putting the car in manual mode. If they can be coded out, or disabled in some way, that would solve my problem. The car is a Kodiaq Mk11 TIA

Same here, although I need to find a short lead with 90 degree plugs.

Well that’s Sod’s law. I’ve always found the satnav was very useful on the Columbus in my Mk1, and seems to work OK on the Mk11 especially if searching for businesses. I have the same problem with the new VC but still get directions on it. Happy with that until they find a fix, as the main display is big enough to glance at.

I guess best start then. Heres mine, a 2.0 diesel SEL collected on Thursday. Already filthy as had a 100 mile drive home in the rain. Best feature so far has to be the high beam assist, which is a game changer with hand controls. I quite like the traffic sign recognition too, it just adds to to an already relaxed drive. Slightly annoying is lane assist and having to turn it off every time. Worst has to be the gear selector position as it requires a bit of contortion for me. Tried holding the push brake with my right hand and reaching over with my left, but that’s way too difficult, so the solution I have come with so far is hold the brake on with my right wrist while selecting gear, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

Mine should be delivered to the dealer today as the adaptations have now been done. Collection booked for Thursday.

It’s a shame you can no longer buy the car you currently lease, directly from Motability. I thought when you handed the car back, that it went straight to auction. Can the dealer make an offer to buy the car before that?

I don’t start paying until I take delivery and the lease also starts then, as normal. Most of the adaptations are paid for by Motability but I need an under ring for the accelerator, which is the bit I’m waiting for. I’ll be paying for this as, unfortunately, it’s not on the free list. Sadly, the cost has doubled from my current car five years ago.

It is an SEL 2L diesel. I would prefer petrol, but the petrol version isn’t available on Motability yet. It’s has already been registered on my private plate, but yes, It will have a 74 plate when it goes back.
