Anyone used VAWS?
I have a pre fl 4x4 machine, had similar probs with a main dealership and an independant here a la frog both denied a replaceable filter in an Haldex 4 unit, I tried arguing the toss but they know better than anyone else here, so after 68k miles and 7 years did it myself, the filter was not bad at all and the oil murky but, as far as I can tell, no probs with the system as of today, I take the car down onto an adjacent beach when the tides out of course and give it some stick when starting from rest. Always evidence of all wheel traction, so I'm pleased!!

Service changes needed at 80k miles
Here a la frog, if you use a VW independant they use 'genuine ' parts and offer a 2 yr guarantee, at an exorbitant price, I supplied the parts and, they were not too happy, however the overall cost was much reduced with no guarantee. Cannot remember the marque of the parts, I can find it, but much used in the USA think it began with a G!

Lit up like a Christmas tree
As previously reported, had this problem a couple of years ago, rear o/s, managed to take the caliper and disc off, ran some roughish wet and dry over the castellated sensors, cleaned up the plug socket with switch cleaner and vaseline, remounted it all, and no subsequent problems, --- maybe I was just lucky!!!

What's this??
It looks like a tuning box bypass plug, I have a similar piece, it is utilised when the tuning box is disconnected, ie it saves disconnecting the t/box loom!

Roof cargo bag
A long time ago there was a contributor on here, The Plumber, had had some roof strips fitted, he then used a roof bag apparently quite successfully without additional bars, ie just the longitudinal side bars. This was about 10 years ago though!! He does visit here occasionally!

Importing 2011 Yeti from Europe - any guidance on the speedometer and foglights?
By reprogramming the country with vcds to australia it is then possible for a largeish mph display to be shown on the display between the 2 dials(brain fade , can't remember its name) -- others have done this, perhaps a search here would reveal pics of the display!

I would imagine the hub ring could be cleaned up with some type of sandpaper around the surface i had similar about 2 years ago, tried to take off the brake disc but couldn't i have a 4 x 4 but by tilting disc and rotating hub managed to clean it up, no probs since although now have some replacement sensors just in case!

Alarm activates when dogs left in car.
You can also double click the remote when locking it, the 2nd click deactivates the internal sensors.

Diesel pinking
When looking at the engine with cover on, LHS exposed, I tapped that and then tapped the round piece partly covered on the RHS. Problem seemed to happen on cold mornings etc, as above no probs now!

Diesel pinking
had similar, vcds indicated a valve on the front of the engine was stuck, can't find the message, but a light tap with a screwdriver seems to have cured it, i didnt have a rattle though, just the hunting!
