another new member @lasausage is probably even closer in as West Cork as you can get in Ballyvourney, beside my old college roomate's neighbours πŸ˜‰πŸ€£ welcome to the irish brisky contingent @alex1978
  2. I lived with an O connor, hung around with Barretts (Ballymakeery) and Hoares (yeah, genuine name..) and a couple of others i cant remember surnames..but pretty sure they all worked in The Mills at some stage πŸ˜…
  3. Ha! I lived with a guy from Bally-v for 2 yrs while i was in Aberdeen Uni 🀣 08-10. There was also... 5/6 others from the Bally-v area they all knew each other (of course) in Aberdeen 🀣 if your wife is from that area... shΓ¨ probably knows them too... might even be one of them πŸ‘‹

  6. Hi paul, Welcome to forum! the kodiaq should enough power and space to handle what you to throw at it... somewhat biased, but you made the better choice over the sorento. ive test driven a couple of kias over the yrs and they feel... light? weak? thin?

Morning! Welcome to briskoda, Hope you find whatever information you might need and enjoy the general vibe around here πŸ‘
  8. that gap is awful 🀣 but, id say if you got out the sewing kit and and a hot glue gun ,you could put a strip of black cloth from the parcel shelf to the seats with some popper buttons. then make lots more to design that works and sell them to roomster owners πŸ˜‰
  9. springs... dampers may be gaving their own leakage issues possibly, but its the springs. could be broken pigtails, or... more likely, a previous owner has replaced them with "these are definitely the right ones for your car sir" cross platform compatible (ie they fit a golf, a3 and a leon too...) springs. which arent the correct rating for your vehicles exact weight. ohhh the thread count for "why is car sitting so low at the back with my new springs" is likely in the hundreds here, just in the octy sections..
  10. I would expect to see the dpf light coming on if it was related to failed regens and or blocked. the " joy" of egr failure is that it is slow, and intermittent to start. and just gets worse. keep an eye on it, and try to replicate the conditions that bring it on, will help diagnose it.
  11. Hi @Tropheus , the above is a guide i wrote to tracking a dying egr from my 1.6tdi cayc experience. its as detailed a breakdown of what you can expect to happen as it gets worse.
  12. Evening! Welcome to brisky! given your vag based background, you should be pretty familiar with most of the likely foibles youll find with your new car too ;)
  13. Hi jeremy! Welcome to briskoda and hope you can pick up some confidence and knowledge to have a go at some more stuff πŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. Love the gigantic bow 🀣
  15. Aaahhhhh i remember my first day with my first skoda too.... ended up joining here the same day back in 2012!! Enjoy it! and the forum!
  16. Maybe in the car reviews section? might be a thread already there about the stinger, so could add to that, it will get more views than here in the hello section.
  17. Good morning! Welcome to briskoda, and hope the pick up and mew car ownership all goes smoothly πŸ‘ id be interested to read a post about your experience with the stinger, it didnt really sell much over here in ireland, so its rarer to see one than a Dodge Charger. ( ive 3 of those in the last month... no stingers πŸ˜‚)
  18. @FUBAR Look, its another fellow nordie ;) Welcome to Briskoda from down the other end of our little Island!
  19. A man of many words I see πŸ˜… Welcome to brisky πŸ‘
  20. Ey up, lad. t'skoda is lukin good πŸ‘
  21. i get that you want an answer, but everyone here is here by choice. so sometimes you have to be patient and wait for people to reply. not ask the same question 22 times in 24hr in several different places. its just going to annoy the people you are expecting to help you. read through the threads you found that are relevant and start writing out the information thats already available. then if you still have questions, ask those and BE PATIENT while you wait for a response.. you wouldnt ask 22 members of staff in a shop where the biscuits are without waiting for a reply...
  22. Hi, just so you know you dont have to post the same question all over the forum, expecting an answer instantly. Forums dont work like that. also, for your own sake dont do it, as this kind of repeaet posting can get you flagged automatically as a spammer and the software used will block you from using the site.
  23. best thing to do is run the car until you get the eml back on then scan it without turning off. many intermittent fault codes are cleared with an ignition cycle, for example, early signs of a failing EGR may put the eml on when coasting after a longish cruise, with a maf error code but... no fault code will be stored, it goes away with ignition key removal.
  24. Congratulations to @Jasas on being being added to the list - newly acquired no.51 in Lithuania ex Dubai!
