  1. Evening, Welcome to the forum! You’ll find the “just right” spot for the seat eventually. It took me 6months to find it in my replacement work van 🤣 then someone else borrowed it, and stuffed me for another 2 months 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
  2. Morning, I feel your pain for stuck in the middle of night shifts, I’ve done enough of them over the years! Hope you find the info you need to help with your problems!
  3. Translation - Hello, I'd like to have a towbar installed on my 2024 Octavia TDI 150, but it's impossible. There are no approved towbars for this car, and there's no indication of when they'll be available, so I can't get a quote. Do you know more? Is anyone else in the same situation? Hi, The standard, accepted language in Briskoda is English. So I have translated your post above to help with that. It doesn’t always get technical details exactly right but Google translate is generally very good 👍🏻 Bonjour, La langue standard acceptée à Briskoda est l'anglais. J'ai donc traduit votre message ci-dessus pour vous aider. Les détails techniques ne sont pas toujours parfaitement clairs, mais Google Traduction est généralement très performant 👍🏻
  4. Evening Martin! Welcome to Briskoda, and I hope you re not having trouble with the superb bringing you along now 😉
  5. Hi Dee hi! And welcome along! Seems like you’ve been as busy getting ready for the new arrival as a new born coming home after birth 🤣
  6. White smoke can also be coolant getting in the combustion chamber. So, if the EGR operating causes white smoke, it’s possibly a leak in the egr letting coolant into the pipe work back to the chamber. How’s your coolant level? Any loss visible? Though it’s probably doesn’t take a lot, so may take time to be noticeable
  7. Going by the number of time car parks I’ve seen belts clearly permanently clipped in and sat on top of… and a recent spa from from RSA about young lads buying “replacement” seat belt clips online… that then get put into the latch to not need to sit on the belt… I think quite a few idiots need reminding… Me? I feel weird not having a belt on driving from one end of a work compound to the other.. (some of them are 1/2 a mile long…) with nothing else other than stones around me..
  8. Have you that little to be at? 🤣
  9. Morning, and welcome to the forum. Don’t worry, you’ll end up sticking around 😆 the forum has a good community and plenty knowledge, not just about Skodas. There’s plenty non-Skoda project cars here too to explore and all experience is welcome!

  13. 🤣 Sometimes you can use words or a phrase in a post that is Grey listed as possible spam, so gets held by the forum software for a mod to check and approve it. Helps cut down on spam attacks.
  14. You’re in West London, but your name is definitely Irish… Welcome to Briskoda!! From an Irishman still at home 😉
  15. Welcome to the community!
  16. If removing that plastic off the alloys has a 10% effect on fuel consumption, then every manufacturer would have been using steel rims and old style hub caps for the the last 20yrs, not putting heavier fancy alloys on their new models. Esp as that would bring emmissions figures down accordingly and so further improve their Euro compliance. Much easier than dodgy test detection ECU mapping.. without looking it up, I believe this “aero trim” (hubcaps…) idea started with Tesla ? Claiming it improved range on the cybertruck by some unrealistic amount.
  17. Hi and Welcome to Briskoda! You’ve started working on it already 🤣

  20. Hi @RogueFabia , To post for sale adverts etc in the market place, yes you need to pay for Freedom or Freedom lite membership, through the site shop. (Click on the words in my post and it will shortcut by hyperlink to the right place)
  21. I ran my mk2 with no engine cover for about 6months and my old 1.9 mk1 octy for 2 yrs and also didn’t notice any difference in engine noise while driving..
  22. Well Pete, that clears that up 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣
  23. Also quite possible. Still don’t get the oil filling though 🤷🏻‍♂️
  24. I’m intrigued as to why the mount is full of oil? At a guess it’s different LHD vs RHD because of the steering rack being laid out differently, while the engine and gearbox would be in the positions with all the ancillary systems attached/wrapped around them needs the engine to be held a different way. Why is it more expensive? Probably a much more complex design needed.
