  1. well, its loaded up again.. and i discovered in daylight.. the adjustable boot floor was elevated at pickup time 🤦 reult... a 6inch drop in the floor level, so combined with repacking such that i have 1 less suitcase to deal with, everything fit in the boot (just) and the carryon bags and pushchair (last trip for that thing!) are in the back seat between the spuds. at an aircon'ed softplay centre now, before we have lunch and then head to yond aeropuerto...
  2. so... apparently Thrifty/Hertz Tenerife's idea of a Hyundai Tuscon is ..... A VW T-Cross. its an autobix petrol, and grand to drive of course it is. but... tha k the lord god almighty we only brought 3 of our allowed 4 10kg bags +our 1 20kg, because if we had brought them all.... i wouldve been going back to the left luggage office at the airport on Monday morning to collect it..had carry bags in the back seats wut the boys and the push chair. and the parcel shelf in beside spud jrs door..possibly the best/worst game of bag tetris ive had to play in a very very long time!!!
  3. @Cr666do define "vibration at low rpm" ?
  4. i reckon it was my original first sentence, which was the sentiment, but a different phrase that may have flagged it as a post by a minor 🤷‍♂️
  5. its been unhidden. i really dont k ow what i put in it the first time that it got held, i editted it a bit, and it was still hidden. anyways, its there now 🤣
  6. as above - microswitch in thè lock mechanism is probably goosed. new pattern part from i terwebs is only like 30quid. maybe less now. hardest part about changing it is - 1) making sure you count the rings on the bowden cable so it doesnt feck up the handle tension (it wont work if too tight or too loose) 2) making sure the door is 100%sealed when the plastic is replaced.
  7. in the old thread i linked, theres mention of the sill being lower on the combi.
  8. I thought this was the answer.... No they wont swap.
  9. i am quite sure this has been asked before, a few times.... and do you think i can remember the answer??? but a search should find out.
  10. ehhhh... @ColinD @cheezemonkhai Sorry to bother you, but i cant remember who on the mods team is still reasonably active. I stuck a post in here earlier, and its showing as hidden pending approval? bit weird.. edit - added Cheezemonkhai as a tag, and i edited the post to take out the phrase that may have tripped the auto block?
  11. I dont always act my age.. and I work with others who dont, as i got this from a colleague 20mins after i sent the above into our work group chat... we got our vans pretty close together, he ended up with a LWB Connect, i the gurrier. another colleague did call us weirdos though....
  12. EVERY time (even after a 30sec key out moment..) i get into the new van i have to - fob on the tracker the company isnt allowed use the data from.. turn off the lane departure steering turn off the collision braking and steering turn off the soeed warning bong - its limited to indicated 124/125kph which is gps 119kph and still bings at me on the 120kph motorway..) turn off the stop start (it annoys me) turn off the "driver alerts" that tell you when youve been driving 15mins you might need a break.. or if you roll over a road marking avoiding some rubbish.. its ridiculous 🤬
  13. got one a few yrs back in Edinburgh, not terrible, decent boot 👍 wouldnt buy one with money like, but not the worst
  14. mine better not be, it wont be big enough, and i booked it as an estate/suv
  15. well i just booked a "Tucson or similar" with Thrifty in Tenerife next month.. i wonder what ill get...
  16. 1litre ecoboost focus... or an astra.
  17. @Lee01 where are you renting the car? that can be a big clue as to what youll get. i must book my own for a November trip to Tenerife...
  18. 51.5mpg is pretty decent over your first proper fillup and having done some work on it too. esp if you were motorway bumbling for a decent stretch of it too... my shiny new work van with 6700km up on it since July is only averaging about 45mpg... even if its mostly the same 50miles of motorway, thats pretty crap, more so for 1.5 diesel..
  19. nah, they were just hangin around in Audimaindealerland. its over the bridge from BMW island.
  20. i didnt say they do make them. what i said is dont buy pattern versions of them. ie the non oem, made cheap sold cheap by other companies versions. My sincereliest apologies for making the assumption that everyone else, who has been here and dealt with this type of topic coming up a million times also understood that difference...
  21. I havent seen the Kia in the real world yet, but i have seen a couple of Santa fes. and my god they are catastrophically ugly.
  22. quality control levels. ask anyone whos fitted a non genuine thing like a cts or maf how they got on with it on a vag engine...
  23. pattern stats and sensors are just a waste of time and effort..
