Superb auto estate 4x4 air bag spring assisters.
@Carlston Is that an actual fact that if a customer in the UK orders a factory build and a factory fit towbar it will come with different springs from the none factory fit towbar cars or might come with stiffer springs?

Octavia Lift Kit
@3rdoctaviai bumped this thread for a member that posted they had gone from a Yeti to an Octavia 4x4 estate for more room but needed more air under their wings, or the bodywork. A Dacia Duster suits some, but roomy they are not.

Octavia MkIV 1.5TSI Engine rattle
@AlanOsborne. Have you checked the oil level since the car was serviced,. Cold dip, then when the engine is at operating temp. So about 90*oC oil temp on the flat after stopped a few minutes. ? Was it VW 508 00/ 509 00 oil used at the service, so 0w 20 FS IV or maybe VW504 00 /507 00, 0w 30 FS or 5w 30 FS III ?

Strange events with charging and battery behaving like it was flat
Not important here, but. The engine can actually be starter in N if the car is parked with the shifter in N and not in P. That is a unless the temperature is below something like -5*oC. Useful if you are maybe working on the car, on a ramp ect and need to roll the car. Left in N and able to start the engine.

New price cap Oct 2022
Real world. Higher density, London, cities. More fixed by-passed meters. More electricity theft and fraud. England and Wales news articles on 5 year jail sentences. Truth, you get away lightly with what they estimate was stolen and more often than not nobody is being prosecuted. Same in Scotland. I know a couple (brothers) that had a converted bank building with 8 flats and 10 years worth of electric theft and were charged £1,500. A few years back but that was the only property they were caught at, the others somehow carried on the same for years. Less dense populated areas and less fraud and theft of electricity but paying for where there is. But then that is London and the Government allowing slum land lords, properties including sheds and garages being rented out as accomodation. Even local authorities not even who or how many live in properties like the tower block that so many died in.

EV real world range and cost to charge
The cost of Public Charging for Company Car Drivers, Businesses etc will affect us all as that will add to the cost of living. Actually though i do not really care what those getting Tax Breaks to have a car and businesses that can claim back VAT are paying for their fuel be it electric or liquid fuel. More important to many who work and pay for their own transport, commuting etc and travelling is that they get paid, they are taxed but about 1/3, have money and then pay for their own cars and running them. From their income after tax they are spending money and paying VAT or Duty on lots of things because that keeps the economy going. The general public get services, NHS, Education etc etc. Some get 'Tax Credits' etc, many are not claiming back anything just paying, paying paying paying. Cars / Vans for Commercial Drivers and Business users are a tool of the trade and an overhead. Private users / owners are maybe more aware of the cost and value of travel because it comes out of their own pocket or bank account.

DCC shocks replacement and water pump
Many will be told there is weeping or misting with the dampers and they might or might need replacing, some will be reported year after year as weeping or misting. As to the water pump, that needs action. That will mean replacing.

Engine overheating warning
What engine, what gearbox, how many miles from new. Did the car have factory prep for a towbar?

SE-L to Scout
Postie's, home delivery drivers and even forestry commission workers and woodland wardens make it about in the UK,s wilderness tracks in vans with nothing special in the way of ground clearance or even winter of all terrain tyres. Plenty threads on Briskoda on giving Skoda models a bit of a lift or clearance for tyres.

Engine stops during start with DSG gearbox
Stop / start should have the engine stopping. If Stop start is enabled and the car does not stop the engine people post complaining or asking why not.
-
Number plates
Sounds simple then, take them out put new plate in place with holes made in the correct place and self tapper or threaded bolts back on. Or get plates with no holes and use Sticky Pads or a mounting plate.

Engine stops during start with DSG gearbox
Only weird if Stop / Start was switched off and with you in D and foot on brake the engine stopped. ? Do you have Stop / Start switched off?

Tyre Wear - Karoq Sportline 1.5 tsi 2020
Road resurfacing and repairs in Scotland might well be done in Spring, Summer & Autumn and even Winter on fine days or where the road crew want away someplace nice. Often it is done at the height of the tourist season and can causes maximum inconvenience, but then that is when the weather is nicest. The surface applied in many places is the one to suit the location and the weather or worst weather for that road or area. Winter, not a trunk route, and prone to snow, ice, flooding etc. ......................... There are tyres that can be crap even in Summer time wet weather let alone wet cold weather. Or just cold weather / roads. What there are is OEM tyres as fitted and for any World Region and 'All Season Tyres', as in 365 days a year. 'Low rolling resistance tyres' are listed on some Skoda Models on some wheel sizes. ie Scala & Kamiq. More often now all Skoda are on ECO tyres, SUMMER TYRES. even when fitted to SUV's, EV's. Part or Full time 4x4's AWD's. (Skoda sometimes have in a Brochure that cars have All Season Tyres, ie summer tyres, then offer 'All Seasons' as an Option, they mean 'All Weather / All Season'. eg suitable for winter.) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/423163-are-all-weathertyres-winter-legal-in-eu http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/440953-factory-fit-all-season-tyres Different when 'All Season' is used to mean 'All Weather' which might be Summer bias & Winter Certificated. eg CrossClimates, + or 2 or whatever. Then we have Wet Weather Tyres, All-Terrain, Winter Tyres, Studded or not, we have all sort of term used around the globe. As to M+S Marking or 3 Peak M+S and 3PMSF then @Carlstoncan give you chapter and verse.

Gear Selector Indicator Flashing...2010 Skoda Octavia
Here is another thread and a sad tale and an incompetent Main Dealership or with incompetent staff. This one in Hamilton. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444617-7sp-dq200-dsg-failure Missed DQ200's were late 2012, not part of either Service Campaign. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/315115-service-campaign-dq200-dsg-oil-changeecu-update-fabias-in-uk/page/9 See page 8. Interesting stuff from Skoda. Guff actually. Lots of rubbish was given to @Nortonpuch A Skoda / VW replacement MCU (From VW with Warranty) and replacement clutches does not cost £3,000 and that is with a Skoda Main Dealer farming the work out. Which is why I questions £3,000 as a figure given just for replacing clutches. Ps. There is some total crap posted on EV cost to charge. When you are paying 70 pence a KWh with an inefficient EV then it is as expensive or even more than an efficient ICE. As to double the price to home or work charge then we will see. Business users and EV,s is not just about the cost of electric or public charging, there is the saving in tax to be counted in. And travelling in low emission zones. PPS. If I had to pay twice as much as I have over the past 30,000 miles of EV driving for electric and CPS cards that would be £300 then. But I know I have had it good over the past 2 years. ................................. This can be the solution for many needing a MCU. No point replacing like for like which can have the same issues eventually.

Warranty - Sydney AUS
The walking in and handing over the keys is the 5 minutes. The technician or fitter getting the keys is not when the clock starts. That is when they get to car to the work bay or on the ramp. The diagnosis might be taking 5 minutes, 10 minutes or even over 30 minutes. Then the techs time is not done with until they maybe give the car more of an inspection, do the report / work sheet and the car is back with the reception or the valeter. This is main dealers not Back Street Autos. Then it is Australia where they should damn we'll get things right. Skoda VW issues in Europe is so many Warranty Issues. Maybe Australia is the same.

Gear Selector Indicator Flashing...2010 Skoda Octavia
Only £3,000 to fix if someone is taking the Michael and doing more than replacing clutch packs. Is this on the 2009 car?

New member 👍
Welcome. Looks great. If you never bought it from the last Registered Keeper then it is a 1 registered keeper car, but someone or maybe several others have owned it without having the V5 in their name, so In Trade.

Advice needed please! 2011 Superb 140 Manual or 2010 Superb 170 DSG?
Welcome. If both are well serviced and maintained and not requiring any major expense now then down to which you like. Servicing major items done to schedule. Tyres, Brakes and windscreen fine now. Has the DSG got a history showing an oil change done as 40,000 miles and 80,000 miles? If not then that needs doing now and not @ 120,000 miles.

VRS Theft Risk?
No matter what list of most stolen cars you look at any year in the UK there are no Skodas,s appearing in the top 10 or even top twenty. But then all the Skodas models sold in any year in the UK are not much more than the number of just Fiesta or Golfs. Luck of the draw if some thief takes a fancy to your car to go for a joy ride or take it to break for parts. Not many will be stealing for ringing a newer Skoda or exporting it.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Electricity from Coal Fired in the UK or Europe will be from Coal coming in from Australia probably, by diesel powered ships. The USA is looking to use their Reserves of Oil / Fuel to settle things. Well the President is. We will keep paying the GREEN LEVY on our energy bills while bringing in coal to the UK because we are as thick as mince. We will be paying Wind Farms & Solar Farms not to generate electricity because there are contracts with more costly generators that need sticking with.

Slow Engagement of Drive - DSG DQ200
Hill Hold Assist is there for a few seconds between you going from brake pedal to accelerator to stop the car moving if on a slope. It activates when you push the brake hard enough, holds the car on a slope, nothing to do with the e-Brake or Autohold. So Hill Hold Assist does not need switched on. As to Autohold check if you have that switched on / enabled. Your DQ200 DSG could maybe do with a 'Reset' which a Technician with all the gear and an idea can do when the car is in at them.
