@Vanessa Fit a fuse in position 41 and see if it starts working again? 30 Amp is the correct rating @spig212 just because you can hear the relay operate doesn't mean that it is conducting. The contacts may be burnt out.

Very unlikely to be any unused wiring, I'm afraid.

Yes that's the drain, more or less directly out of the bottom of the box the aircon evaporator lives in. Here's the view with whole thing out of car: To see if it's blocked, run the A/C on a warm humid day and see if water comes out.... May have to wait a few months.

The SK1 or SK4 number doesn't actually get printed anywhere on the motor, the SK240DDRS you're possibly seeing on the part number labels is the same on both versions I think, which are interchangeable anyway. The vital thing is that the main part number is exactly the same 6Y2959802 (for RHD later mk1 Fabia). 6Q2...ones won't work either. Anything without both of those 2's is not a suitable unit, no matter what an ebay seller may claim. Also beware of any that have that 6Y2959802 part number, but say VW240DDLS on the bottom line of the part number label, they're from LHD Polo, which also won't work correctly.

Yes, wrong filter being supplied by Bosch under the correct part number, apparently. Was it from ECP? If so please make them aware that there is this problem.

No; the relay will be soldered to the circuit board inside the BCM, and there's very little chance that replacing it would change the sound, in my opinion, it's just what relays do. Try to use continuous wiper mode whenever possible, as that eliminates the annoyance and reduces the wear and tear on that relay's contacts enormously too.

Funnily enough I had another one from them last week. Got in from checking the car at about 5.15pm, thought "I'm bound to be past their cut-off for next day delivery". Nope, for just £1.99 on top of the standard delivery charge it was with me by 11 the next morning. £53 total with a three year guarantee. Amazing value.

@31rc have you looked at the images in the first post of the thread that @Rooted linked in a post above just now? Compare pictures and see which yours matches.

That cross references as OK within autodoc; where did you buy it from? Next question then, can you find your oil pressure switch and check whether oil has leaked into the connector? Tends to be the only thing on the engine with a single wire connection.

@J.R. I tend to agree, better to not drive it unless sure that the warning light isn't on justifiably. The only circumstance that I would ignore it is if I knew that the pressure switch was faulty, which can often be judged by simply disconnecting the single-wire connector to it, and finding leaked oil within.

Clean the screen with a white cloth or paper towel/tissue, and see if there's a colour match to what's in your expansion tank.

Colour doesn't seem to be a reliable guide to getting the right part even for genuine filters. A quick bit of google imaging just now suggests that at the time of the split (between cars up to 08/03/2010 and cars from 09/03/2010) both filters were black. Pre-change cars had 03C115561B, image below: And post-change cars had 03C115561D, image below: D is not a supersession of B, they are separate branches at this point. Both black. Both of those parts have since been superseded, for cars up to 08/03/2010 the suffix -B is replaced by suffix -J, now silver (-B was dropped on 01/12/2013, but that doesn't necessarily mean that -J wasn't fitted before that date, I think?) Suffix -D for the later cars from 09/03/2010 onwards was dropped on 01/04/2014, replaced by suffix -H, image below, again silver: If anyone can make sense of the Bosch (Halfords?) part number posted by the OP, I'd be happy to know.

Yep, yours was built 27/05/2011, so more than a year after the change. Genuine part number in previous post, price at Skoda currently £14.16 Inc VAT. Or match aftermarket parts carefully to that number.

I'll shift the dog off my lap and check your build date.
