  1. No, I think that's just the lights self-testing. Relax.
  2. I will try to look at wiring diagrams later, if I get some time. If you do find corrosion it may look something like this (different connectors on your car):
  3. Yes, except the software driving the needle motor makes it indicate 90 for a fairly wide range of real temps.
  4. Not personally looked, but driver's side right of steering wheel, I think. Not sure what trim may need removing to access. Other mk2 owners or maybe YouTube should be able to help.
  5. Fuse is one of the strip fuses above battery, 50A rated with a thick red/black wire coming from it. Right-most one as you look from standing in front of car. Relay is in position 9 of the relay panel behind dash.
  6. That wetness suggests that the boots are not sealing onto the paintwork at one end or both. That's bad news because the connectors are not inherently waterproof. Examine mating face of loom connectors for corrosion when unplugged from the pillar connector.
  7. Can be difficult to view the actual contact surfaces of the relay without bending bits to get a better view, and that's not in the category of 'non-destructive'. Judging by the circuit diagram, the black/grey wire is the low speed power feed, green/yellow is high speed, and brown is earth return. The green/purple is park position feedback I think.
  8. The relay contacts may be burnt such that they make a contact, but not one that's good enough for the current required to get the motor moving. Try another relay, especially if it's an easy pluggable type.
  9. Not sure what you mean, got a pic?
  10. Yeah, that battery sounds like it's very end of life, unless you have a significant current drain.
  11. @makymak I'm very happy to look up the correct module part number for your car if you wish. Just need VIN.
  12. And believing the dealer when they say they couldn't see any stored codes is perhaps a little over-trusting.
  13. OK but if you can provoke it by driving behaviour, you can potentially read the code while it's lit?
  14. Welcome to the forum Phil. I'm afraid I can't advise you on purchasing a Superb or cars in general, but I think there are lots of happy owners on here who may be more use. Hope you get some more input.. Pete
  15. Anyhow, to the problem. Find a local VCDS user who may be willing to scan the car for you to see why the EPC light is being lit? A generic OBD reader may have failed to pick up the stored info.
  16. Actually I suspect the software guys have done exactly what they've been asked to do. But I guess that doesn't really contradict what you've just said.
  17. Only if the programmers wrote the software in the radio and engine ECU in such a way that it allows this to happen.
  18. The CAN bus just sends the messages. The controllers are what tells you about the message contents. It's like you're trying to blame the phone line for someone telling you bad news.
  19. CAN is just a communication network, CAN Bus Explained - A Simple Intro [2023] – CSS Electronics You guys seem to be trying shoot the messenger. How the data conveyed by the bus is used seems to be the problem you think there is.
  20. You may also be better off just looking at comparative figures on spritmonitor.de where there tends to be large datasets of crowd-sourced brim-to-brim records.
  21. This is a handy catalogue and vendor of genuine bits at decent prices. Catalogue is not 100% up to date, but better than many of the online ones you may find. Car Parts Catalog - LLLParts
  22. Message me with the VIN of the car please @kareems, and I can check which part number it should have.
  23. See if you can locate these items on your car: Car Parts Catalog - LLLParts
  24. Yeti appears to have a quite different fuse panel.
