  1. I didn't read enough, sorry.
  2. From what I've read, the majority of things you might do with VCDS don't require a VIN to be put in.
  3. Found a part number match for your airbox, it's from a diesel SDI engined Fabia: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2006-453/1/129-129040/ (item 7) Yours doesn't need any sensor in there, this is the correct page for BMD showing no such sensor https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2007-453/1/129-129015/ No need to change anything though, I don't think.
  4. Hi Sam, welcome to Briskoda. Sounds like a good choice you've made there.
  5. Look for part number agreements by navigating to the relevant pages in here: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/ Slam panel and glass will be in the 'body' group, airboxes in 'engine'.
  6. So it can! A few threads of 'unscrewedness' visible in his pic.
  7. Sorry, no, I meant inside dims between opposite valleys or something, to see if there's 2mm difference. Here's a photo of my right front hubnut enhanced a bit with red rings around some of the darker pointy bits. May just be a photographic thing, but your pointy bits seem less obvious?
  8. I'll pop out and photograph one of mine, but I've only ever used a bog standard 36mm 12-point.
  9. It's hard to see from your photo, but is there any chance that nut has been rounded off? Comparing the image here, the points look pointier? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-Audi-Wheel-Hub-Axle-Nut-6Q0407396B-Polo-A1-A2-Skoda-Fabia-Seat-Ibiza/183230153311?epid=28019511407&hash=item2aa95e425f:g:NBIAAOSwQwxbqEnK Oh, and do some comparative measurements between the 34 and 36mm sockets to see if there's any chance the 36 has been marked up wrong.
  10. What's the OD of the 36mm socket? Wondering if it isn't getting in far enough to grab the nut? Somewhere I've got a measurement for the OD of the one I use, I'll try to find it. Edit: Looks like I measured up back in May as follows:
  11. Welcome. Which type of Fabia do you have? Engine, year etc. I think that's the vent valve, to do with opening and sealing the tank, for the evaporative emissions control system. Normally unscrewing the cap changes it from open to closed (or vice-versa, not sure) and refitting the cap changes it back. Some people have found, by accident or deliberately, that pushing that with the fuel filling nozzle as you refill the tank lets more air out and increases the amount of fuel you can get in there. For petrol models this can have bad consequences, to do with the charcoal canister.
  12. I'm with you now. Sorry it took me so long. 😆
  13. For you, yes, but then why spend time and effort posting on EV threads?
  14. ^ Don't buy an EV then.
  15. I guess you meant fuse 39? That's the one for the fresh air blower. 30 Amp is the correct value according to wiring diagrams. Did the autospark do any investigating beyond finding the blown fuse and replacing it with one that was doomed to fail? Try a new 30 amp fuse there, but look closely at the contacts that it plugs into before fitting. Clean away any corrosion you might find and correct any looseness in the fit if there is any.
  16. Sure, yours will be AMF, but you appeared to be trying to tell us on 28th Aug that any/every mk1 1.4 tdi had the same engine code, and on Sunday 30th that the other two engine codes I mentioned were only found in mk2s? (The spongecake reference meant nothing to me, but is that a description of mk2 Fabia?) If you just put your engine code in profile or sig, there'd be nothing to discuss or work out. Seems strange that you tell others to do so, but neglect it yourself.
  17. Didn't @KeithCheetham's post confirm my idea that this spring has been fitted upside down? Hope I'm wrong for the OP's sake, but it seemed clear from how I read Keith's post that he'd seen this before and that was the problem?
  18. ^ Bargain! 😂
  19. Surely this sensor is detecting tilt of the car relative to the local surface that the car finds itself on, not tilt relative to true horizontal? @J.R. is that the sentence you meant? It's the third?
  20. Check fuse, if that's OK, change bulb
  21. Switching on ignition whilst disconnected is the usual problem. Should be clearable with VCDS.
