  1. No; the relay will be soldered to the circuit board inside the BCM, and there's very little chance that replacing it would change the sound, in my opinion, it's just what relays do. Try to use continuous wiper mode whenever possible, as that eliminates the annoyance and reduces the wear and tear on that relay's contacts enormously too.
  2. Funnily enough I had another one from them last week. Got in from checking the car at about 5.15pm, thought "I'm bound to be past their cut-off for next day delivery". Nope, for just £1.99 on top of the standard delivery charge it was with me by 11 the next morning. £53 total with a three year guarantee. Amazing value.
  3. @31rc have you looked at the images in the first post of the thread that @Rooted linked in a post above just now? Compare pictures and see which yours matches.
  4. That cross references as OK within autodoc; where did you buy it from? Next question then, can you find your oil pressure switch and check whether oil has leaked into the connector? Tends to be the only thing on the engine with a single wire connection.
  5. @J.R. I tend to agree, better to not drive it unless sure that the warning light isn't on justifiably. The only circumstance that I would ignore it is if I knew that the pressure switch was faulty, which can often be judged by simply disconnecting the single-wire connector to it, and finding leaked oil within.
  6. Clean the screen with a white cloth or paper towel/tissue, and see if there's a colour match to what's in your expansion tank.
  7. Colour doesn't seem to be a reliable guide to getting the right part even for genuine filters. A quick bit of google imaging just now suggests that at the time of the split (between cars up to 08/03/2010 and cars from 09/03/2010) both filters were black. Pre-change cars had 03C115561B, image below: And post-change cars had 03C115561D, image below: D is not a supersession of B, they are separate branches at this point. Both black. Both of those parts have since been superseded, for cars up to 08/03/2010 the suffix -B is replaced by suffix -J, now silver (-B was dropped on 01/12/2013, but that doesn't necessarily mean that -J wasn't fitted before that date, I think?) Suffix -D for the later cars from 09/03/2010 onwards was dropped on 01/04/2014, replaced by suffix -H, image below, again silver: If anyone can make sense of the Bosch (Halfords?) part number posted by the OP, I'd be happy to know.
  8. Part number change was on the dates I've posted.
  9. Yep, yours was built 27/05/2011, so more than a year after the change. Genuine part number in previous post, price at Skoda currently £14.16 Inc VAT. Or match aftermarket parts carefully to that number.
  10. I'll shift the dog off my lap and check your build date.
  11. No, filter change was 8th to 9th March 2010, as I said straight from the parts catalogue in that thread you just bumped. For cars built 09/03/10 onwards the genuine part number is 03C115561H.
  12. Can you send me the VIN? There was a change in filter part number at some point I seem to remember, need to know which side of the change yours is.
  13. Have a look to see if you have relays in that location. Will be driver's side I expect, LHD car shown. Photograph what you find.
  14. Everywhere I look in the circuits, the rear wiper is fed by a 10Amp fuse in position 40, next to the blower motor fuse; both driven by the relay. So if one isn't working because of the relay, I would think both wouldn't, unless the current demand being smaller for the wiper is what's making a difference. Try a new or 'borrowed from another position' 25 Amp fuse for #39. Take a photo first so you don't get mixed up.
  15. This is where the x-relief relay lives, once you get visibility of the relay panel. Not sure about rear wiper feed, will check again.
  16. See if the rear wiper also doesn't work currently, that seems to be fed by the same relay. Position 4 in the relay holder behind dash, roughly in front of your right knee when sitting in driver's seat.
  17. There may well be a relay involved too. The 'x-contact relief relay'. Will check circuits shortly.
  18. I've only glanced briefly at the docs provided by @fabdavrav, but aren't they exactly for the case where you can't get at those normal screws cos of non-working front-to-back motor?
  19. What's your problem with it? There will often be a few posts that contain nonsense in any given thread. Unfortunately CAN data bus is a subject misunderstood by a large majority of posters. It's just a communication network. Do you have any useful information to contribute @Neily03?
  20. Correct. Rear wiper, fuse 66 for example.
  21. It isn't. It's right at the back.
  22. No idea if this has been mentioned amongst all the bickering, but one thing to be aware of if you do change the oil, is that the car needs to be nice and level, both side-to side and especially front to back. If the nose only is lifted, the oil level will be wrong when refilling to overflow.
