Battery light coming on and off
Exciter wire is the thin blue one, one of the the two that connect via the little two-way plug. If the battery light works at all, that wire is OK, I believe. You might have some loom damage somewhere that's giving weird results when wet?

Epc light and engine light driving me mad
View from outside car. ECP suggested the wrong rating to another member based on his reg, so well worth a look. If you see 4 bar on it, please message me with your VIN so I can double-check the correct rating.

Epc light and engine light driving me mad
VCDS is ideal, let us know when the latest codes are read. Is there any chance that the fuel filter has been incorrectly replaced with a 4-bar rated one sometime? You should be able to see the pressure rating stamped into the rear end of the filter housing, just in front of the rear right wheel, inboard of the sill.

Epc light and engine light driving me mad
I visit Bury St Edmunds occasionally. If it's still giving trouble next time I'm heading there I'll aim to drop by for a look. What are you scanning with, or do you have to get a garage to do so at present?

Epc light and engine light driving me mad
That's how it should be. Was just checking that the PCV valve diaphragm had not ruptured and created a leak. Whereabouts in Suffolk are you?

Epc light and engine light driving me mad
Being careful not to get caught by the auxiliary belt, see if you can put a finger on the port shown arrowed here at the back of the engine, while engine is idling. Report what you feel on fingertip when that hole is blocked please.

Post them up (the exact numbers) when you have please. Also please check the brake servo vacuum hose if you haven't already done so, by eye and fingertip feel at each of the junctions between hard plastic pipe and other items like the non-return valve. Manual or auto gearbox?

Not sure, no personal experience of a faulty one, are you hearing any odd noises?

EGR issues?
Fraid I can't help with EGR knowledge, but with the headlight voltage, I'd expect lifespan to be inversely proportional to the square of voltage. See how you get on with reduced brightness though.

Skoda superb diesel engine oil suitability?
Doesn't matter as long as it says 507 00. If you want the psychological reassurance of something connected to VW Group, this is the Quantum version you want (not necessarily the best price, haven't checked: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154621437616?epid=7032265364

Skoda superb diesel engine oil suitability?
13000+ results to choose from here, but double check before ordering that it really does say 507 00 on the pack. 50700 for sale | eBay PS, it doesn't matter what else it says, as long as it has 507 00. For example, all of them are likely to also say 504 00, that's fine.

Skoda superb diesel engine oil suitability?
If it doesn't say "VW 507 00" anywhere on the container, then it isn't suitable. The one you linked doesn't clearly show it within the link, but I know from having bought some myself (for a car that it does suit) that this one isn't rated to 507 00. You can just about make out 505 00/505 01 as the approvals that it does have in this screenshot. Not DPF compatible.

the truth about electric cars
Regarding 'bullying tactics' for smart meter installation, this page at citizens advice explains that it is not compulsory, and gives a link to contact them to report any unwelcome pressure from a supplier. Just scroll down one third of the way to the heading "Refusing a smart meter". Getting a smart meter installed - Citizens Advice Personally I'm not in any way against them, and don't share the paranoia about supply throttling; I also have one. But when the 90+ year-old neighbours were told they must have one (which they didn't want), I was very prompt in finding the info in that link for them.

Reverse light wires
- Reverse light wires
Thanks, but there seem to be multiple versions of the wiring, which I clearly didn't realise at the time. One that I looked at, on page 109/21 of the Octavia2 from May 2007> does indeed show it as what I wrote. Shame I didn't check for other, different versions.- Skoda superb diesel engine oil suitability?
No, you need one rated to 507 00.- Fabia Mk1 washer problem
- AnnoyingPentium's 2006 Fabia 1.2 12v Ambiente-ish
Sell it at a 'kind' price to a local friend Ryan, get them to put you on their policy as a named driver, then just borrow it whenever needed. That way they pay all the bills, you get to use it.- Spark Plugs - 1.5TSI Karoq
Carbs were rather poor at giving a well atomised, correct ratio mixture compared with electronic fuel injection, so the environment the plugs had to work in was a lot more variable and generally worse for longevity. - Reverse light wires
