  1. If the relays marked 53 are in the bottom row, in positions 13, 14 on my diagram, then the one above and slightly right of 14 in position 9 is indeed the glow plug relay. Maybe there's confusion between the position numbers on the diagram and the relay markings?
  2. No, that's a diagram of the relay board shown in your photo. May need to get lower to see the full thing Hard to tell from the photo, but are those two 53 relays on the lowest row?
  3. BNV is your engine code Which position in the relay panel, No. 9? (middle row, 1 right of centre?)
  4. I doubt it, but will just check if I can guess what your engine code is. Where are you pulling this relay from? Pic?
  5. Thanks @pikpilot. So the pressure switch (marked in red. herring or otherwise ) has a rating described as 0.3-0.6 bar. So your oil pressure is dipping below 0.6 bar at around 1500 rpm sometimes, if my understanding of the warning system is right. That's clearly not consistent with it being more than 0.8 bar at idle, as the test instructions suggest it must be. Unless the warning system is malfunctioning, or doesn't function like I've described, but I've suggested a way to check that already.
  6. I would get the pressures checked again. Possibly at a garage that hasn't been involved so far. That's your VIN, not engine code. Engine code can usually be found in a few places; at start of engine number on V5 ownership document, on sticker in boot showing build options, on barcode sticker on upper cambelt cover (letters in front of engine number). Boot sticker sometimes duplicated in front of service book. Ask garage which (exact) oil is in the engine. Might be on invoice?
  7. Some info on testing pressures here: Skoda Workshop Manuals > Octavia Mk2 > Power unit > 1.6/55; 66; 77 kW TDI CR Engine > Engine lubrication > Removing and installing parts of the lubrication system > Testing oil pressure and oil pressure switch (workshop-manuals.com) "Oil pressure when engine idling: at least 0.08 MPa (0.8 bar). Oil pressure at 2000 rpm: min. 0.15 MPa (1.5 bar)."
  8. Not specific enough. Which oil is in the engine?
  9. What's that supposed to do? Which oil has been used for all these changes? I'll check circuit diagrams in a bit if you can tell me the engine code, but I think there's just the one oil pressure switch. It may be rated at a pressure where it would 'nuisance trip' sometimes at idle, so the software that runs the pressure monitoring system ignores it below 1500 rpm (except when cranking), which may explain why you don't see the light when idling, but only when driving. Try driving at 1400rpm for a while with fully warmed up engine, then increase to 1600 and see if you then get a warning, as a test of this theory. What pressures have been measured at what rpms, and was the engine at full operating temp when they were being measured?
  10. I think the rationale for the permanent feed is so that hazard lights will work on the trailer board even with ignition off; though that's only a guess.
  11. Unlikely, I think. Do you know what the part number of your loom is? (By having read the label).
  12. I edited the reply you've quoted, please look back at new version. G004000 has superseded G002000. 6y2 is not an engine code, but that isn't relevant anyhow.
  13. The parts catalogue suggests oils meeting VW group spec G 004 000, for both Koyo and TRW steering systems. oil container and connection parts, hoses; ; no '... - Fabia(FAB) [EUROPA 2000 year] (7zap.com) item 20 g004000 | eBay It will have leaked into one or both of the boots around the inner joints of the track rods, probably.

  16. Sorry, false memory on my part, will try to find whichever thread it was I saw that did have some photos.
  17. Did you look at the post I linked to in my last reply? Thought there were pictures in there?
  18. Shame you didn't ask when you were struggling, cos I think the shortcut may have solved that. Were there just holes in glass, or something more slot-like? On the mk1, you pre-fit the bushes then drop the glass down onto them. It just pops into the slots. Nerve wracking the first time you do it, but easy thereafter.
  19. There are loads of repair kits on ebay with connector shell and ample wires with the connector inserts pre-fitted, long enough to get you well into the door where you can make inline connections to the original loom. Original loom is likely to be fine beyond the area that flexes. This sort of thing Door Cable Repair Set 107063 Febi Harness Wiring Loom Genuine Quality Guaranteed | eBay
  20. Euro 6 emissions standard from Sept 2015 allows 0.08g/km of NOx, Euro 5 before that was 0.18g, more than twice as much. But the real issue was that VW group and others cheated the system with 'test sensing' or other dodgy software which produced cars that appeared to meet the Euro 5 standards when tested in the lab, but emitted massively more than the limits in the real world (up to 40 times as much).
  21. The violet/white one at top of pic would be one worth giving a little pull to, to see if it falls into two bits.
