DSG - reverse to first
You might be experiencing low levels of fluid in the gearbox. I find the DSG gearboxes don't like low fluid levels and give problems with drive and gear change if the fluid levels are low. Try a readaptation....if that doesn't improve things, gearbox oil change reqd. It's needed at 40k miles anyway.

New headlight
You could try your local Skoda Dealer. However I assume you are mechanically happy to replace. Do you have a Halogen or Bi-Xenon setup? skoda-parts is usually a good place. Sadly Kopaček don't send that kind of weight to the UK any longer. Alternatively....go find a written off car.

DSG - reverse to first
What engine do you have in your car (because there are different versions of DSG)

Light configuration
Quite frankly, considering some of the translations between Czech and English, this is not surprising. You have Auto Lights - the system to switch on headlights depending on light conditions. That can also be called Lights Assist. The function for Lights Assist in terms of settings is about when the lights turn on. This is where the confusion is. Even worse, that sub menu only pitches up when you enable Highbeam Assist - which gives the impression that it controls the highbeam sensitivity. It doesn't. It controls when the lights switch on. I have mine on Early.

Dash cam restarts with stop start.
It needs to be on the rear wiper....switched 12v only. Now depending on the unit, it should have a small capacitive battery that smooths out the stop/start events.

Starting problems Skoda Octavia 2.0tdi 2017
Five years old....the car is over five years old and the timing belt needs replacing irrespective of mileage. Sorry. ..

Starting problems Skoda Octavia 2.0tdi 2017
Okay....then might I suggest you get the timing belt looked at - as a matter of urgency (massively overdue). You might have an engine with a stretched belt which when hot is causing the timing to go out of tolerance.

Starting problems Skoda Octavia 2.0tdi 2017
Not necessarily - you might get a low pressure warning on CANBUS, but if the issue is that it only effects the car on cold first start, then it may produce an error - which is automatically cleared. One other thing that might cause cranking issues - is the timing belt. If your timing belt is not 100% and the car is having to adjust the timing within tolerances, then it will also take longer to start. When was the last time the belt was changed?

Starting problems Skoda Octavia 2.0tdi 2017
I would look at getting an ODBEleven dongle to help diagnostics: Sounds like a failure for either the Fuel Pump or non-return valve.

Octavia 1.4TSI 140ps Trouble with gear selection
I would get the gearbox oil changed - I personally don't care for the 'lifetime oil' statement from Skoda for the manual gearboxes. Gearbox oil changes have made a huge difference in terms of performance of the box.

Starting problems Skoda Octavia 2.0tdi 2017
So - as I understand things - its takes 2 or 3 goes to start the car. My first go-to - would be the glow-plugs. You don't say how many miles/kms your car has done, but the glow-plugs will probably need replacing after about 120,000 kms/80,000miles [its good practice anyhow]. Other things to look at: Fuel Filters - when were they last done? They can get easily blocked - a good/simple job to be done. Fuel Pump - the CANBUS network will report low pressure on the incoming fuel line - it would be good to get a diagnostic readout anyway. Non-return valve - usually associated with the Fuel Pump - it might take some cranking to get the fuel pump to get the fuel into the injectors. What is the performance of the car like? If it is sluggish, then I suggest low fuel pressure or pump issues. Do you also have any electrical devices plugged into your car? It is worth disconnecting these and seeing if this improves matters [I am thinking dash cams - with should be NOT be connected to permanent live, but to switched live]. The Octavias/Golf's - do not like low battery voltages (but again, this situation would be reported and you will get random error messages all over the place).

Octavia 2.0 TDI 2017 - Coolant & Timing belt
Yup - under the heading of "its a VW, so they damn well do what they want to" - we went from G11, G12+, and G13, then back to G12++ and G12evo. There is a table of what is compatable with what; but for the sake of what you are doing - just use G12evo Ready Mixed or G12evo concentrated and use mineral free water to dilute.

Octavia 2.0 TDI 2017 - Coolant & Timing belt
Answer from empty is about 8.4litres of G12++ or G12evo.

Octavia 3 does not start
Well, that's not good. I've never seen an "Engine could not be reached" error. It means that the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) cannot see the Engine control unit. Ignore the ABS fault - that is around battery voltages which would probably clear. I would want to check the wiring harnesses to the engine to make sure the mice or rats have not done their worst. Keep us posted.

Octavia 1.4TSI 140ps Trouble with gear selection
That a good thing - which means that Slave cylinder is okay - which probably means the issue is further down in the gearbox - which is bad. Unlikely, but its a quick/easy job getting the linkage lubricated.

Regen
I would get a DPFclean done ASAP - as it sounds like you have a blocked DPF. There are several in Portsmouth that you might want to have a look at. My personal recommendation is that you look at: https://www.hydra-int.com/diesel-particulate-filter.html or for longer term usage (after you have had your DPF cleaned): https://www.hydra-int.com/diesel-power-blast.html

Bolero sound system in 2015 Octavia - why such a big
Okay - first things first: 1) Get your Bolero system to the latest firmware (your 2015 may well be a SOP2.x or SOP3.x hardware). Press and Hold MENU -> Go to Software/Versions and press the versions button at the top of the screen. Then contact @pab567 who can arrange to get the latest firmware to you. 2) Get Skoda Surround enabled on your Bolero. It will transform the audio.

Skoda connect failure
I'm sorry to report that Skoda Connect features are generally considered fairly pointless. It sounds like you have Infortainment as well as Care Connect. Just out of interest - have you paid your annual subscription to Care Connect? If not, all of the above services will stop working. If that is still not working (and you have paid up), then it is a trip to your Skoda dealer to get the Comms Gateway replaced (VW/Skoda went and knackered up the gateway due to the fact they changed the authentication tokens when they moved to the cloud and stopped a chunk of cars from working).

Octavia 1.4TSI 140ps Trouble with gear selection
It sounds like the dis-enagement clutch thrust mechanism is faulty (broken thrust vane??). Is the clutch heavy when trying to change gear (that could be the clutch slave cylinder gone south) or does the clutch go to the floor? I would get it on a back of a low-loader back to Bristol where it can be repaired by your local garage. Don't try and drive it as you will damage the gearbox and clutch even further.

Mk3 VRS TDI DSG Estate - 3rd set of brake discs warped
I would be look at the calipers sticking and causing overheating. You might want to get a rebuild kit if you are getting sticking. The standard Skoda discs are good and should not cause issues.

Advice please, buying 2015 MK3 Skoda Octavia L&K 1.8TSI
Good car - lots of toys - you should be happy. Check the service history to make sure it has been serviced by a Skoda Dealer on time. Check the car servicing against the timescales that Skoda recommend. A low mileage car like that should have had an annual service (ideally 4 services) to keep it sweet. https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/8b70c541-726b-4996-9999-66ebc7ca520b So - at five years, you should have had done: 1) Extended Scope Service (Oil, Filter, Air Filter, Cabin Air Filter, brake fluid, coolant, and if we are sticking by the book - a cambelt change/5 years) 2) If it is a DSG gearbox, I would recommend getting the gearbox oil changed (it will be a DQ250 6 speed box if it is an automatic). You might want to check / replace the windscreen wipers front and rear. 3) There are niggles, but nothing terrible. Lack of maintainance is the biggest problems with Skodas. Niggles I've experienced: a) Batteries dying - the EFM+ batteries are rubbish and get flaky after 4 years. b) Remove the Silica bag from the coolant header tank (cos they have a tendancy to split and knacker up your heater matrix) c) 1.8TSI engines are good; make sure you keep the oil changed regularly.

Streaming music problems
When Bluetooth gets glitchy it's due to either co-channel interference or there is not enough space on the 2.4G band to host the music (which takes up high bandwidth). Depending on the firmware of the MIB unit and the protocols being used between the phone and the MIB unit, it might be with tweaking some settings to get everything to work as it should. Test 1) Get everyone else to switch off their Bluetooth devices in the car. If the glitching goes away, it's a bandwidth issue. Patch your phone's firmware (for the latest BLUEZ stack). Test 2) Update the firmware on the MIB system. Older versions of firmware have flaky firmware on the Bluetooth stack. Updates to the latest SOP3.x or SOP4.x helps. Test 3) Your phone if it is an Android device will try to negotiate the protocol it uses. This is bad news as on Auto, the system tries to negociate the standard and the stream type. I find SBC (for Audio Codec) and AVRCP 1.6 works fine for me. Let us know how you get on.

A few queries
Base maps will be ROW (Rest of World) - there are two possible ways forward here. 1) The Base Maps cannot be altered as far as I am aware. You can try and load on the latest map updates as see how far that gets you....(unknown). 2) If could swap out the head unit for a European head unit (e.g. Amunsden for Amunsden) - and hopefully Skoda Connect will still continue to work. You would need to get the Component Protection removed in that case by a Skoda/VW dealer. Swapping out the headunit - you might want to consider an upgrade to a Columbus at this time 😁 My first call would be to a Skoda Dealer near to where the car will arrive e.g. Southampton (Richmond Skoda Southampton), Felixstowe (Bristows Skoda, Ipswich), Thames Gateway (Beadles Skoda Southend) - and get it check out before you go anywhere. It looks like such a lovely car, that it will be great to use (and there will be a great story to be had). If you have Virtual Cockpit, going to MPG is easy otherwise you could consider a UK spec speedo replacement (not hard). Do lots of photos - go and watch a Hubnut Video and see how Ian Seagrove managed to get Bettie in from NZ into the UK.

Can ABS fault cause flat battery ?
If there was a break or a short in the loom then anything is possible.

Date/time setting
Yes. One which is resolved by a firmware update. Version 0480 seems to fix GPS wobbles.
