  1. So - some good news. I've fixed the problem. I managed to unhook the cap from the back of the washer arm and found that the washer nozzles were slightly pushed up. Pushed them back down and replaced the car. It's now realigned and the holes and the jets now match up. Result.
  2. Plus I would add that the non-FL cars have an issue with overloading the internal reflective surfaces of the headlamp and blinding other road surfaces (so don't go above 120% Phillips Activision lights).
  3. Thanks Guys and Girls It's definitely the windscreen washer not the rear camera washer (which this car doesn't have)
  4. What oil are you running on? Should be proper grade 0-30W 504/507 Skoda/VW Longlife grade oil. Even my TDI 184 burns some oil (I have to put in a 200ml every 3000 miles or so) so you shouldn't worry too much. Towing will put additional pressure on the engine and cause it to use more fluids (coolant and oil), so proper quality oil/filter is even more important.
  5. I think you have been super unlucky for two failing Lambada sensors but you are hopefully aware that there are a couple of Lambada sensors on the exhaust. Maybe you had two bad ones..... Try not to do short journeys if possible. The Lambada sensors can get saturated with carbon and soot and fail if the combustion temperatures are not hot enough.
  6. Dear all, Curious little problem that seem I know us Briskoda members like to ponder. The rear washer for my MY18 Octavia VRS seem to misaligned. This is causing the top of the rear window not to be cleaned properly. Image 20210320-131830 is the correct alignment from my husband's SE Octavia (also a Saloon). They work correctly. Image 20210320-131856 is from the VRS. The nozzle seems to be too high up in the spigot and so the bottom jet is just hitting the plastic between the two jets..... Any thoughts on how to fix it? Many thanks Max
  7. Less tilt is good. Yes, blood cut off around the thigh area.
  8. Its probably caused by the support of the leg area of the seat. The VRS seats are great, but I'm 6'2" and even I occasionally feel the support issues. The problem is that the seat is tilted too far back. Use the hand to the right and pull up a couple of times. This will reduce the leg room further but allow for blood flow to recommence. You now need to push the seat back down using the large knob on the RHS to give you additional space.
  9. @jellywirewe need a VCDS or ODBEleven scan of your car to see what faults are being flagged, but @FrankNicklinis right - its probably a struct that has failed. What is your car and what mileage has it done and is it still under warranty (please put details into your profile)
  10. So - there are essentially two types of servicing; basic and enhanced from Skoda. If the car needs a service, it will try and give you anywhere between 2000-2500 notice depending on your mileage. It sounds like your car needs just a basic service or oil and inspection service - https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/oil-and-inspection-service What mileage has your car done?
  11. Can you press and hold MENU button, go to Versions - and give us a print out of the version information of your MIB system? Suspect a firmware bug you are hitting. Bolaro/Amunsden for SOP4.x should be 0478
  12. Agreed - not normal. As a matter of course, It could a couple of things that come to mind: 1) The DSG gearbox oil is low or the gearbox oil/filter is dirty. This may be affecting the action of the control actuators. It will cost you an DSG oil change £215. 2) The control module is slowly failing (bad). Is the delayed action just between Reverse and Forward? You should have a DQ250 box if I remember right. 3) The DSG control selector position sensors are slowly failing - its taking longer than expected pick up an electronic signal to say that the gearbox needs to change gearing according to the selector position. Agreeded with @e-Roottoot - what is your driving style and what kind of mileage have you done?
  13. Whatever is causing the issue is putting additional pressure on the engine. Couple of things to look at: 1) check the brakes - are any of the brakes hot when you arrive your destination (ie dragging brake?) 2) A dodgy batch of fuel? 3) Tempertature makes a difference - but it should be no more than 4-5mpg (anything colder than 7C will make the car run richer) 4) Do some basic checks - make sure that oil level / coolant are correct. 5) Tyres - my dealer has an annoying habit of lowering the pressure back to standard pressures (which are too soft). Check your tyre pressures.
  14. It sounds like a harmonic being generated in the exhaust system; probably a baffled humm caused by a vibration in the exhaust system. Check the exhaust hangers all along the length of the exhaust - also make sure you have no small exhaust leaks (exhaust manifold) or around the silencers too. It sounds like a metal to metal noise. If physically no issues, then it is probably exhaust baffle related. Did you have the exhaust changed recently (207,000 kms is a lot of mileage) too? Sometimes new exhausts can sounds buzzy and echoy like that noise which will go away after some carbon is deposited on the baffles.
  15. Understood - I would recommend doing to the Skoda dealers in that case. I hope you get your maps updated at some point in the future.
  16. The latter....only the garage will see the error. They won't bat an eyelid. No error is shown in the car.
  17. The update will abort if the power to the car goes below 11.2V, so you either have to have the engine running or have a battery charger. However, I seem to remember that one of the update screens it says that you shouldn't have the engine running.....hence the need for a battery charger. If they do this work in the dealer, they hook the car up to a battery charger.
  18. Really @langers2k Wow okay. Tried it with 20.3 VCDS and it didnt play nicely.
  19. SD memory cards can be sent via post. Instructions can be written. Money can be settled via Paypal.
  20. No - no VCDS or OBDCEleven intervention is required. The only thing that you will find is a Software Version error which cannot be cleared unless you have ODIS. Your Skoda garage or VW Specialist can clear this error. Good luck.
  21. There are plenty of nice 2013/2014 cars out there for sale - try to get a high-spec one - Elegance. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?advertising-location=at_cars&year-from=2013&price-to=7000&postcode=td145js&sort=relevance&price-from=6000&fuel-type=Diesel&include-delivery-option=on&minimum-badge-engine-size=2.0&guid=f19c937c-838c-4f46-85f1-fab0c0bb392e&model=OCTAVIA&page=1&aggregatedTrim=Elegance&radius=1500&make=SKODA&year-to=2014&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used#202102249438204
  22. Good call - I know how we love/care/cherish our beloved Octy's, but the Italian tune-up is really recommended for the TDI and TSI engines. Nice tank of Super diesel or unleading will also help. Its about getting heat into components (whether it be the DPF or Carbon Particulates Filter) and letting the re-gen processes kick off properly. I took my TSI out for a 120 mile spin (for work) - used the right pedal lots - car seems to be super quiet and happy now!
  23. DQ250 - gotta be if its a 2013 car. I think the DQ381's came in around 2016/2017 (around the time of the face-lifted cars) - which were 7 speed.
  24. Yes - Pink is for the display - there should be a pink multi-pin connector floating the cabling mellay at the back of the MIB unit.
