We have a 1.4tdi 4x4 manual and live on the edge of the peak district. It regularly travels across the peaks fully loaded to the gunnels to Belfast and Lancaster - it copes fine with no issues apart from an occasional need to let it have a few more revs before changing gear...

Think they stopped making them in late 2023 so there'll still be some around in fleets. I even saw one the other day... Took me a minute to realise what it was...

Tend to agree with most of your points but interestingly our Kodiaq 4x4 is lighter than our Mk2 TDi 4x4 was...

Our 2018 SE has AA and works fine so don't think it's an age thing. Have you reset the system by pressing and holding the on off button on the infotainment as that usually sorts ours when it gets a bit stroppy. Otherwise it could be the USB socket playing up?

I'm pretty sure our Kodiaq has a setting in the lights menu to turn the headlights on if the wipers are working. They certainly come on that way... Doesn't help the OP though .. sorry

Just a quickie... Has anyone dealt with dacapo audio the danish outfit? I've had a few LPs skip today so I think I'm getting ready for a new stylus for my Ortofon VMS 20e mkii. They seem few and far between, especially the OE ones, and I don't trust the eBay ones but dacapo do a Tonar replacement that seems to be recommended on Vinyl Engine... So any thoughts?? Edit. OK scratch that idea... Dacapo have a mini order vale of £135 to the UK. The search goes on for a decent value replacement

I seem to recall that an electronic child lock button may have been an option on some models - the Superb and Kodiaq I believe - but they're not standard fit.

Harrisons is a great store and has been around for donkeys years... I too remember it on the other side of the road and used to work just down the road before we moved offices. I think you'll find that in the vast majority of cases car allowances have been or are being removed... there are still some areas where they are provided but generally they have been, or are being, rolled up into overall salaries. As to the comment about 'brand' etc. - that appears to be a rather elitist and snobbish attitude of it still exists. I know of many people who actually consider a supplier, or similar, turning up in a 'flash' or 'premium' marque to be a big 'neagitive' in terms of employing them, as it potentially indicates paying over the odds for their services.

I've seen a couple of EV9s on the road and didn't think it looked too bad. No worse than any big SUV such as a range rover etc

If you look on kodiaqforums.co.uk there's a good guide. It involves unclipping the two parts of the handle, taking the interior door panel off and the using a small nut, both and washer to hold it all back together. It looks to be half and hour to an hour's job.

I tend to agree with you - my Suzuki Swift of the same age, a car that is priced at less than half that of the Kodiaq, has radar controlled 'active' cruise control that is much better. However, I do think what you are experiencing is compounded by the fact that it is a DSG Automatic as our manual gains nothing near that amount on a 14% downhill slope on the way to our house... if I remember I'll try to check it again (and whether it does actually brake) over the weekend

The big plastic connectors look to be aftermarket blade fuse holders so I'd guess that it's probably retrofit wiring for a dash cam or phone charger that's not been fully removed.

From the comments in the original post the cruise control is working as it should and as ours does in our Kodiaq with basic cruise control. The only 'braking' function it has is engine braking which in our manual car is fine. On a long downhill stretch it picks up a few mph and that's all I imagine on a DSG equipped car it would pick up much more speed as there's likely to be less engine braking and also the DSG may slip into coasting mode if that is something that year of Kodiaq does. By all means have ACC fitted but I believe the system is working as intended so you have little or no cause for complaint.
