Does the Octy 3 have rigid plastic rear pillar trims? If so could something like a rigid pole across the back be 'hung' from the top of them (ie via a small right angle brackets slipped into the top of the trim?)

have you checked the pollen filter cover is correctly fitted?

Of the four people at work who have switched to ASHP, all have said the costs of heating and hot water have increased significantly since installation, with one almost doubling... And that's before the added influence of the recent increase in electricity prices. Its absolutely put me off going near one at any time in the near future

I have a quicklynks t55 VAG specific tool from gendan that I used successfully on our 2007 octavia. The cost was about £60 but it can access all modules and includes VAG specific codes etc. It was cheap and cheerful but worked for me, although it doesn't want to talk to our Kodiaq so is probably now surplus to requirements.

Decide where they are going,. Scree through the headlining into a thin sheet of hardboard or hard plastic sheet placed above it by removing the rubber seal around the rear hatch allowing you to place said hardboard accurately. Just be careful that the screws aren't too long that they go through the hardboard and into / through the roof. If you look at retrofit sunglasses holders that's exactly how they fit.

Not necessarily... Manufacturers seem obsessed with fitting more powerful motors with excessive performance to the models that have larger batteries. If they simply fitted the bigger batteries to the models with the less powerful motors you'd get more range

If its only lightweight stuff then I reckon you could put a thin plastic or wooden plank across the top of the c pillar trims behind the headlining to spread the weight and screw through the headliner into that to support some rings or handles. Fishing rods aren't heavy so all it needs is something to spread the load across a large area.

Actually there is an increase in initial installation costs for more load but this gets written off fairly quickly and in terms of maintenance there isn't much difference between a big transformer and a smaller one. So once installed ongoing costs aren't that much different so, spread amongst a larger denser number of customers the standing charge is less.

Bang on you beat me to it... Its all to do with number of customers served by infrastructure vs cost of that infrastructure. More customers equals lower cost... Simple and no conspiracy theories needed.

We had the same o our old Octavia and it was just a seized motor. Took it off gave the bearing a squirt of wd40 to free it off and then a drop of oil and it was fine for a couple more years until we traded it in.

If you look down the back of the slam panel below the latch mechanism you might be ae to see the other end where the connection fits if it is the bonnet latch switch.

The only othe thing I can think of them is the bonnet latch switch if it has one that would indicate the bonnet open for the dash telltale or alarm?? After that I'm struggling unless it's an A/C sensor???

That looks a good shout if two wires and one yellow and blue and one yellow and brown. The sensor itself is usually plugged into a hole in the grille next to the fog light or nearby

How many pins are in the end... Its hard to tell number and size from looking at the back of the plug

At a guess it plugs into that female connector just in front of your hand I the picture.

Deactivating by unticking the box in the infotainment will work fine for the ferry but beware it resets when you unlock... So don't lock then unlock then lock again. Just unstick, turn off the engine then get out close all doors and lock.

I've got a couple too... Ones a panasonic a d one a technics but given both brands are the same company the only difference is one has an anti skip feature and is silver the other doesn't and is grey. They still work fine and my eldest uses one to play backing tracks when she's practising the flute.
