Hi isoma,

first of all many thanks for your suggestions.

My main doubt is now about rear cables of the unit by the installer.

Do you know wheather is there any other wire to connect a part connection to cambus and ipod cables?

About the automatic completely switch off after 8/10 minutes should be a battery safe and 12V connection was not plugged to the right place???

This is also for not CD/DVD working: it takes cd and rejected after 2/3 seconds.

I'm DESPERATEEEEE :( HEELP MEEE!!

Hi, dany-red.

I have no such unit (yet), but I'm reading some forums about these chinese's units for a long time ago.

The installation should be plug & play: connect the car audio socket into the unit, and this socket only have +12v connection, not battery safe are available. I don't think that your Skoda dealer has done any other thing, but who knows...

Try to contact with your seller and tell him your problems, maybe this unit is defective.

Also, you can scan the manual and upload it somewhere, so perhaps we can better assist you.

Greetings

Hi Dany-red

just for giving an opinion for you (I tried to add a picture below)

ImageShack® - isnilgiz's images

1-This adapter is connected to the car side adapter, exactly plug and play. Before that, The car side adapter was used to connect to previous stream radio.

2-this socket is connected to new unit. it is very easy.

3- remote control also you can see that to plug it is very easy.

4- For me the most important cable. It is handbrake control wire. I connected it to the ground of unit on one of the four screws. So before making that, I encountered the screen showing "warning please stop watch video player" message. after connected, no warning like this. Also you know what the reason of it, we discussed it before.

And there is another cable but I couldn't put the picture on here. it is for radio antenna, I connected the one end to the cable antenna coming from the car side, and the other end to the unit backside.

Also Ipot cable socket is very understandable youn easily see it and assembly with the unit.

So coming to your problems;

1- automatic switching off after 10 minutes, I have not came across like this situation. Unless I take the key out the car, unit is working. But as soon as taking it out, the unit stops working. My unit is so,

2. about rejecting the cd/dvd, you say the unit takes the cd completely inside and after 2-3 second rejects it. If so I think this may be problem. The unit may be defective.

thanks isoma for your help.

Sorry but images are not so readable.

However, your explanation is clear.

I have now to check cables. No way to solve situation with "closed box".

News! I don't know why but my 80Gb Ipod works well! ... :D

Witson assistance suggested me to unscrew bolts.

I don't understand why this important note is note reported on the manual of the unit .

My point of view is that the unit swith off automatically after 8/10 minutes because some calbes are not plugged correctly.

I will report you...

maybe is the handbrake contact or something

I think your problem is the permanent on and the accessory on are reversed, so the stereo acts like the original one, when you turn it off without the key in the ignition. Only inconsistence is, IIRC the factory radio turns itself off after 20 mins, but maybe you had this changed via VAGcom, or your dealer did.

Sorry, but I don´t think so. The original socket hasn't accessory connector, it only has permanent one, so is imposible they are reversed (unless someone had tampered it).

Greetings

The original socket in the car's loom was a switched live and a permanent one. IIRC the poster mentioned the installers didn't use the plug, but wired it on directly somehow, and maybe those were crossed.

If that's not the case, then I've no idea at the moment. Sounds to me like a faulty unit, as there's no other reason the stereo is turning off with the engine running, not if everything else works fine.

I have now installed the Witson unit and all works well. With the exception of the cd changer - I have sent an email to Bob at Witson about connectivity and his reply was just plug it in!!

As the Witson, according to the manual uses Sanyo protocol and Skoda\VW uses Panasonic I think I might have a useless bit of electronics in the boot!:thumbdwn:

Has anyone solved this one?

Also how do you get the rather gawdy equaliser display on the radio screen, mine just shows a radio icon?

Everything else is working well.:)

If anyone is looking for a loading screen for iGo here is one I put together the resolution is 480 x 234.

Hi Pinsharp, also mine working well... a part that it switch off every 10 minutes  Tomorrow I will check with a specialist

Which Witson model do you have?

Do you use IGO8? I'm not able to work with it. It give me error "FFUIERROR: Code=8" I tried many times to work on file sys.txt but I think there is another error. Could you please give me some suggestions? How your file sys.txt is? Thx!

put some pictures with the units mounted, closeups. are the menus different from the previous model? :)

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! ;)

It depended by 2 causes:

1. bad connections by the Skoda dealer

2. central unit defected

I found a very good specialist that replaced all connections and by-passed +15V to the car directly.

Now, radio switch off with the key only.

In summary the radio is quite "chinese" good. Amplifier 45x4W is not real and sound is not soo good... I like the very good sound quality ;).

Touch screen is not perfect.

GPS menu and other gps setting fuctions are quite poor.

Radio doesn't have the RDS fuction. Also, the unit doesn't have the loudness.

The bluetooth fuction for the mobile has very good sound. I hear perfectly and the voice and the person with I'm speaking hears me well.

Ipod connection is for a small Ipod. I have a Ipod Video 80Gb but I'm able to listen only the playlists. If I select albums or artists doesn't move on.

Video for dvd and divx is shown good.

There isn't the possibility to set different volume for the different mode, so when I change mode I have to put attention to the volume.

However, I think that the price is justified for this unit. If someone doesn't have much money and he is unpretentious this unit is ok.

I suggest to isntall it with an "expert of car connections" or the risk is to don't connect it in the right way. This is my case.

Later I will put some pictures to show you the screens.

FFUI error generally means there is a version mismatch between the program and the data.zip.

Anyone got a CD Changer to work??:(

did somebody tried the Wolf NCU interface? i like the unit, but the software needs some work :(

Another clone / brother of the Witson here: JEASUN ELECTRON CO.

Presume this is the same OS as the one that dany-red installed...

The shell is pig ugly but the screen graphics are nicer (although still the wrong color). Wonder why they can't all meet and put together a decent one.

that radio display looks much smarter

Agreed, but no RDS function.

sys.txt looks like this:

Hi Pinsharp, unfortunately doesn't work with your sys.txt

However, we resolved the FFUIERROR screen ;)

Now, when I run the igo.exe the screen shows the picture for a second and closes again. What should be? Thx!

Hi scouter2, I'm not able to see what you posted. Did it removed?

Hello there...I bought the witson 782 model and i can watch DVD only with handbrake in use...When i drive the screen turns to blue and says caution you have to exit the dvd menu for safety reasons...ANY IDEAS ??? How can i bypass this ?? :(:(

Driving and watching a DVD at the sametime - not a very good idea is it? Hence the safety feature...

But, typically, just ground the cable that's connect to the handbrake switch

I just installed my d782s, but it turn off in 6-10 mins like Dany-reds, what

should I do?.

And I also have a buzzing sound, when I turn on the car?

Do it have something to do with the white lead, which comes out of the pc5-90 antenna wire? Should it be used? I just cut it over, because I do not know what it will be used for?

And finaly, what colour is the handbrake wire?

PLEASE HELP ME.

Thanks, Stecki from Denmark.

Has anyone solved this one?

I'll try using some snap lock auto connectors when i've figured which wire's in the quad/plug are changer and what they're for.

Hi stecki, don't worry, these problems can be solved at all ;).

To be honest I asked to the expert person to adjust all connections from the radio to the car.

What I can say is that technician by-passed the "can bus decode" and the "Wolkswagen multi plug" that you see in photo with standard ISO plug connectors. Also, he taken the +15V directly to the car. This is because connectors were taken contact with the Wolkswagen connector. I don't know how it connected all single wires. Simply, use each wire and follow instructions. Don't connect same colour between radio and car. What is the pc5-90 antenna wire? For the cd/dvd you have to unscrew the only bolt over the unit. I don't remember which color is the handbrake wire. Tomorrow I'll check for you. But don't worry: all problems you mention are solvable ;).
