Just had a reply from the seller, it fits the octavia 11 and is plug and play sat ant included mine on its way £299

I installed my Witson unit and routed the Ipod connector over the dash and down to the compartment to the right side of the steering column. That seems to work ok, however at one point the electric windows stopped working until I took the key out and back in.

The interface is almost complete garbage. With 430 songs on my Ipod, I cant seem to scroll quickly through the songs without pressing the down arrow each time (which has a 1-2 second delay) I want to go down the list. I can press the Seek+ while playing a track and it will skip to the next track, but I would have expected to be able to use the tuning button to quickly scroll up and down.

DVD player doesn't seem to work (with engine off and key in ignition). It seems to give me an error about video player. I get the same error when I use a regular audio CD. The radio also cuts in and out randomly and the signal quality isn't quite as good. So far, not that impressed.

Also, what Sat Nav software should I now buy for this, just so it isn't a total failure.

Is it someone that have upgraded sound system with amplifier and 12 speakers that have used this Witson unit, Is it possible to use it together with the original amplifier?

Im planning a mod to the mic on my unit. My plan is to desolder the two wires to the internal mic and then solder on a mono 3.5mm jack. I have brought a Nokia HFM-8 mic of Ebay to use as a replacement. The nokia jack is 2.5mm so I will need a convertor from the 3.5mm to the 2.5mm. The reason I have gone for 3.5mm is as most microhpones are this size so If the nokia dont work I can easily try another. Im not much of an electronics wizard so I wondered if anyone knows if this will work? The inbuilt mic is just too far away and most people I phone cant hear me.

No speed camera warnings on mine. I found em on the net though at POI Plaza - Free POI databases for almost every navigation system - IGO8 NEW!!!

It may work, it will depend on what type of mic is currently in use and what type you want to replace it with - how about just extending the wires and using the exisiting mic.

That sort of interface is what you could do with on the other units, I am sure that if you get somone with an interest and the ability you could have a really good firmware on the ones discussed here. I wouldn't be surprised if somone somewhere isn't already looking at it.

You've only got to look at the linkbacks here to see the interest in it.

These are the same shape as the stream/audience HU, so you wouldnt need another facia. This is anotehr CE based device, but it seems to offer slightly less in the way of features than the units everyone else has got.

That looks like quite a neat unit & I think I'd feel more comfortable dealing with a UK based importer, should the unit be faulty, rather than shipping to the far east.

So should I read that as buy your own maps!

I dont think its that simple as the firmware is likley to be stored on a memory chip within the unit some where. However there are people on another forum who are attempting to do something problem is no one wants to risk screwing there own unit up by attempting this.

Yeah, I got my product in 24 days. From Liverpool, Delivered to my friend's home (London). Because of that I'm living in other country, I couldn't get the item yet. My friends will bring it to me. I think the seller has some problems with the import. But he has good cominication.

Whoever get the same item, I will have a few questions, esspecially about new fascia replacement for octavia II climatronic dash is needed or not.
