Cheap Ebay Alternative to MFD2 installed.

Hello again.

Thanks for your response.

Do I understand it that way that I must take every line and connect with one from multi-plug and make a new for 12/15v directly from the battery?

The pc5-90 wire is the blue one from the picture, where do i connect that?

If I connect + 12v directly from the battery, does the buzzing noise then disappear?

Thanks again.

You can with (an expert person) to cut wires that comes from the Wolkswagen plug and connect a ISO plug or to cut wires for the radio and connect a Wolkswagen plug.

you can take +15V from the conditioner air that is very close to the radio and works well.

it's first time I see this pc5-90 wire but seems to be the antenna amplifier. In that case the blue wire should be gnd but I'm not sure.

Buzzing noise could depend by some defected connection. I think should disappear.

Yes, this is antenna amplifier.

But blue wire is power and have to be connected to stereo's remote wire.

YAAAAAAHUUUUUUU!!!! :D:D:D It's Alive.....

I took the yellow and the red wire and put it directly from the unit to the battery... And the brown one to Gnd... And now it plays for more than 10 minuts... So now I just have to put the car together again:thumbup:

So now i have to get the gps software to work... So if you have some good advice, dont hesitate to write them...

Thank you....

And dany-red... You have a fan:D

Aha, then it's the power leads. Ok, reverse yellow and red between themselves and it should work.

As said previously, the stuff in the picture is an antenna amp, connect the blue lead to a switched +12v like together with the yellow from the CAR (very important). Alternatively you can use the Ant wire if the Witson has one, so it only receives power when you're on the radio itself.

Anyone watching TV on Witson units? Which aerial do you use?

I've just received my W2-D782S and noticed that there are two 3.5mm TV aerial connectors but the installation guide doesn't contain more detailed information

so it needs modification in the wiring, for the unit to work, not just plug and play. :( did someone told "Bob" about the problem?

Anyone within driving distance of Dunfermline fancy a few quid if they install one of these for me? Not remotely skilled in car auto electrics and hold my hands up to the limit of my abilities if I don't want to tackle a job!

PM if so please!

Well, my unit was truly plug & play, I only cut and shorted to ground the handbrake cable. Otherwise everything was ok, unit doesn't turn off after 10 minutes as others mentioned here.

But I can't get the dual zone function to work - when I switch to Navi view, the sound from radio or CD interrupts.

Hi josi, the unit supports 2 antenna's but it's enough to connect one to start.

Of course is not compared like the home tv...

I use phonocar VM815 series antenna.

In same cases we found that a component of the unit was defective.

You're right, like mine. GPS is online but we can't listen to the music while GPS in shown on the display and viceversa no listen gps voices when play music. Anyone could help?

Hi Dany-Red - For your problem you may try to do something....When playing DVD, MP3 or Radio and at the same time using the NAV - try pressing the PLAY button. You should see a text on the OSD - GPS1 and GPS2. When i am at GPS2 i hear only the navigation and when i am at GPS1 i hear and the Radio...and the NAV sounds....

So, i hope this will help you :-)

Greetings from Bulgaria :-)

Hi simichoil, I tried but unfortunately doesn't work.

When I press play button (from the remote control) into the gps the gps switched off.

However, tahnks for your help ;)

No, press the PLAY button on the main unit - located on the right side of the monitor - it is written PLAY on it. This should work.....it works with me...

Any ideas what the colour is for the switched +12v on the quadlock in the uk?

Cheers

Hi simichoil, I don't have your same unit model. Mine is W2-D782S and I don't have the play button or I don't see it. :(

Look here :

You can get a switched live from CDC connection, pin CDC (with a switch image below it). That pin gives +12v out when the radio is turned on.

Hi and greetings from Finland!

Stupid question, but asking anyway. I'm waiting my W2-D782S to arrive and thinking about the navi, but is the unit PNA or PDA? I'm going to try Tomtom 7.

Regs.

Pasi

Technically, it's closer to a PNA, as it has WinCE loaded on it, rather than Win Mobile, as PDAs doo.

with my PDA I always used Tomtom but with this device iGo8 pretty much better :D

You should search for the PNA version with IGO.exe file in. ;)

Will try IGO too, but what are the mainly problems with TT?

By the way, will the unit read 4GB SDHC card?

I didn't tried Tomtom on the device, yet but I found iGO very good.

No, unfortunately the SD reader doesn't read SDHC cards.

But you can use Secure Digital 4GB NO SDHC that's are ok. If your purpose is to listen mp3 with SD cards (very useful think) I suggest you to buy fast SD cards (150x or 133x at least).

If you have sdhc cards you can take a usb card reader pen and connect it to the usb port ;).

I already tried 8Gb SDHC cards with USB card reader on the usb port that works fine.

No, it doesn't read SDHC cards....i have tried with 4, 8 and 16 GB....only 2 GB works...

I have a SD 4Gb adata 150x NO SDHC and works well :D

Ok, now I have to wait that unit to come from U.K. and after that I can test all the best solutions.

Thanks guys!
