is your lead original with talex or off ebay? which talex device do you have? and have you reset the computer?

what windows version you got?

hi

still no joy.have got windows home premium, and have reset computer several times.

thanks for your input

with it plugged in, go to my computer, right click a blank area and click properties, then device manager and go down the list and see if their is an error on the com socket (yellow icon) and see what it says and try updating from there.

if not i can only suggest to contact talex.

hi

I am having this trouble got 2 PC'S running Vista Ultimate one I can update ok the other cant detect the talex, try updating on a friends computer.

have you right clicked the program, go to properties and try changing it to run in windows xp mode? the other option is to remove all drivers and traces and reinstall as it might be a previous or different program interfering.

Has anyone been using the Novus database and if so how are you finding it?

Also Just updated my Talex and the latest database file size is 3369984 bytes, the same size as last weeks V9044.

I know they been out busy looking all week as i was asked about one near me as they couldnt find it and of which turned out to be a replacement camera (other one knocked down to vandalised) but had till the point of being knocked down been on the database.

Dont forget the blackspots warning will often have stuff added and removed, school warnings etc and like with the specs on the M25 there are two slip roads from the m25 into specs area which makes 6 seperate measuring points to be included just going anti clockwise.

Im happy with it currently, only reported a couple in the past month of which were mobile traps which i only found very late at night so probably no chance of finding them during the day when the road is busy.

Just looked at the Novus web page as i haven't been on there for a long while, it says on there that they won the Auto Express Speed Trap Locator Test in July 2008 and provide a link to that page to confirm it. Also the web site itself looks far more informative than the Talex web site with video etc, Having said that its all very well having web sites with all he whistles and bells but if the database isn't up to doing the job, then there's not much point, hence asking whether anyone else is using Novus at the moment and how are they finding it?

the speed trap award was done with no talex's in the running. From what i gathered from speaking to the database dept at talex was that auto express were told a few white lies thus no testing of the talex. The next review due soon will include a talex device.

Cheers, I didn't know that.

Should be interesting to see how they get on with the Talex. I am more than happy with the Talex and noticed that last night the file size had changed from 3369984 bytes to 3369872 bytes.

Just wanted to see if Novus where matching the quality of database provided by Talex.

i think auto express have a route down south somewhere which is about 50 miles long (dont quote me as i cant guarantee it). What they really need is to try them out over much of the country as ive seen reports on here from members who say the further north they go the lack of locations on the unit and from personal experience ive found some do work better in other parts of the country to others.

So is it the Talex or the Novus that people are saying have the lack of locations the further north you go?

members on here have said such.. (search facility above).

Latest Talex database now on V. 9051 file size 3368728 bytes.

Just looking on a previous page (1) someone wanted to know if the new Talex device will run off a free Novus update,

Has anyone tried this? and if so what was the result?

Also has anyone over the past few months noticed any difference between the old Talex unit and the new one in the way of holding more locations etc?

Just debating weather to go out and buy a new unit as mine has started to go on the blink!
