I'm going to take mine off in the summer and paint it green or black (Yet to decide)

I ordered one, but can you tell me where is the subject "how to fit..." in forums? (I searched but i think i am blind)

Its nice & easy to fit, honest. Just offer it up to where its going to go roughly, and you'll see which bolts on each side need undoing - 2 nearest the middle. You just put the strut brace so the two holes in each side line up with those bolts and job's a good' un. I think the bolts are 10mm, might be 13.

Sorry for being a thick dumb *** but I cant see the links and the ones I have followed send me to an invalid page. Would like to know coz im puckubg mine up from seat on Saturday.

Cheers

and while we are on the subject. If anyone who is going to the cat and fiddle run wants a strut brace then let us know and i can bring it up with me. Its a seat sport one but I took the sticker off when i put it on my Vrs. I wanted to put it on my girlfriends Vrs but she wont let me so its up for 20 notes if anyone is interested.

I did do a search for the how-to guide - honest!! I can't find it.

Please could someone post the exact thread here? I am frustrated at not being able to find it!!!

Cheers

I searched too, but i could not find. Don't worry there is an installation guide in the box of strut brace. the things you will need is 10mm and 13mm ring spanners. I installed Strut Brace and PD160 Air Intake today myself, it took about 30 min.

I think the original thread has got lost.

Any one who gets one and wants it fitted if they are unsure give me a shout. I'll quite happily fit it for them for free so we can do a 'How To' for the masses.

the tread is found :D

but, " 5. Bolt the strut down on both sides to a torque setting of 25Nm"

what does it mean? my English is not very well, so can you explain briefly?

I installed it, but i think i had a mistake about that stage

Here's the original How To. It's missing pictures though which is a shame as I'd quite like to see them to make sure I don't screw anything up (almost broke the air box thingy when replacing the filter, so I can confirm I'm no mechanic!).

Does anyone have the pics still? Or at least a pic of getting past that black box thingy on the drivers side?

Also, it's safe to just do up the bolts again as tight as you can? Halfrauds cheapest torque wrench is 50 quid, and so I'd rather not go and buy one...

Oops, double post. Can a mod delete this?

The strut top bolts are lightly done up 25NM's is barely "nipped up" as i would call it, please dont horse them down as it will cost you a bit to get it sorted if you strip it

I guess I'll just try and do them up to the same tightness as they are when i take them off... Still a bit concerned about the idea of not doing things up tightly when they hold bits onto the car though.. Guess Seat know what they're talking about though! :o

I know it's been mentioned a few posts up but is there anyway of getting the pictures included in this 'How To' as a couple of the steps do mention to move or not move this & that highlighted in a certain colour in the pic etc.....

It would be a great help if the pics were available somewhere.

Cheers

Dave.

i fitted mine yesterday and the job was easy peasy took 10 mins the only tricky bit is taking the blackbox off on the drivers side strut

I know that's why i wondered if the pics were still around somewhere cos the text says to look at the pics when doing that bit.....

Got mine on this evening; though I did have to loosen the third bolt on each side to allow me to reseat the strut on its mounting to get the brace to fit cleanly. There's enough tolerance in the mount that the chance of the brace fitting with just 2 bolts removed is a bit hit and miss.
