  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

No worries matie. Will be going home in 4hrs for a well deserved 5 days off :)

Put the Winter Wheels on my Vrs 205/55/16 and put the Wife's winter wheels on her Vrs 205/45/16

Fitted Nightbreaker bulbs. Not bad so far....

What did I do?

I felt like driving 'my' skoda into a brick wall!!

Let me expand: I have a virtually brand new fabia II base TSI 'thingy' model as a courtesy car. Compared to my phase 1 VRS (with the dealer having warranty work done) it's worse than driving a bus!! Body roll, sluggish, gutless, elec windows with a mind of their own, crappy ICE, annoying dash telling me when to up_shift gears - not to say how uuuuuuugggggallly she looks - I hated every minute behind the wheel!

I know this might not be music to you fab II owners, but sorry, this experience just confirmed to me that i've never been a fan of the revamped model. What were the boys and girls at skoda thinking? Just like the ad when it came out, reminds me of a loaf of bread.

Maybe if i get a chance to pilot the VRS model, i may reconsider.

Maybe it's because I just had a cr*p day at work. I dunno.

Anyway - rant over.

I'm off to drown my sorrows and veg out in front of family guy. That'll bring a smile to my face.

Have a nice weekend all.

Fitted the bonnet lifter and PD160 intake to the Furby then washed it and ran a VCDS scan on my newly delivered VCDS kit, then connected up to the Octy and swapped the CH lights to the fogs rather than the xenons.

Just need to get the anti hijack sorted on the Furby next and check the BT coding on the Octy.

Cheers

Changed the offside front parking light. Dunno what other folks think, but it's a wee bit tricky lol. At least Skoda had the foresight to make the headlamps easily removeable, also disconnected the multi-pin plug and just took the whole headlamp off and into the shed.

Put the winter wheels on and forgot (yet again) that when reversed up to the garage, the tailgate crashes on the garage door when it's open

Luckily no damage this time.

I put more dirt and grime on it again today, and tried to wash it off with the deep puddles. Surprisingly it made it worse......

spent a good couple of hours with heaters on full to dry out the carpets, only to find massive puddles under them.. emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Confirmed that both rear doors on the Furby are leaking and bought the Octybus a new air filter.

Far too wet to go out and do the jobs though. Tomorrow am looking favourite, and have arranged to borrow a dehumidifier to try and dry out the Furby.

Drove down to York today for a day out. Had to deal with fog, mile long queues due to roadworks closing the southbound carriageway (on a Saturday daytime!) and some near misses. Van nearly barged me out of the way pulling out of a T junction, and roadworks on the way back, 2 lanes into 1, went right to the end of the 2 lanes, left indicator on at the 200 yard sign, was nearly T-boned by a minibus (which I was just ahead of) who didn't let me in and also by a car behind it who nearly T-boned me and rear ended the minibus trying to block me, then had the cheek to beep their horn and swear profusely at me! What I did is a bit frowned upon perhaps, but not illegal and definitely didn't warrant the reaction from the other vehicles.

I drove it 45 miles to drive this.........

Cleaned it, hoovered it out and then EMPTIED AND SORTED THE GLOVE BOX.

WTF does SWMBO do with all the junk it (used to be) filled with?

(and WTF will she do when she finds most of it is missing)

Octavia air filter replaced.

Fabia pollen filter removed, hoovered and replaced.

Fabia rear doors resealed with Plumbers Gold sealant. Bring on the rain! Oh it is... how quick does it set? <checks> 2mm/24hours at 23C... Damn.

Sticky-taped up the windows on the Fabia to stop water getting in before the Plumbers Gold has set

Looked at it & decided it needed cleaning. Then thought about the weather, the state of the roads and the likelihood of it being just as mucky by the end of the day anyhow.

Made some beer instead

Update: Glad I didn't bother - flooded roads on the trip out this afternoon and the car is filthy.

Tweaked my new Kenwood multimedia system.

Fitted

Jabba cone in airbox

20mm spacers to the rear

15mm spacer to the front

:D

Just popped an enormous dehumidifier in the boot of the Furby.

As long as I unplug it before the missus drives off tomorrow it should be OK.
